Best soft pretzel in Lancaster county! The stick pretzels have been a staple in my family for…read moreyears. They have expanded their store and menu and have a lot of options like pretzel logs, ice cream and chocolate covered soft pretzels. They carry a few other local food items as well. Ice cream is from Fox Meadows. Prices are fair. Plenty of parking. Stop by and try some samples!

We were driving through the New Holland area and stumbled across this little shop/market that has…read morehuge pretzels on its signs and exterior walls. If you're in the area, be sure to check it out! We decided to have lunch and ordered a couple pretzel sandwiches. Mine was called a Dutchman, which had ham and cheese and a creamy sauce made of brown sugar and mustard. My wife ordered an Italian sausage pretzel sandwich that she devoured. We of course had to try a plain soft pretzel too. The market sold a lot of touristy Amish stuff like maple syrup, soft pretzel mix, bacon dressing, and empty pretzel casings for hot dogs (pretzel dogs). Probably the only reason we didn't give 5 stars is because of its rustic bathroom. It's a single porta-potty that sits outside the store. Better than inside the store I suppose, but eww! No sink to wash your hands, just hand sanitizer. So be forewarned; take care of your private business somewhere else before dropping by.

First- Walking in and getting stares was awkward. It appeared that a majority of the patrons…read moresitting at the bar are "usuals" and it's a very "everybody knows your name" type of place. No one greeted us- which is ok but we were a little confused about seating since there was indoor and outdoor. We figured out that we were to find our own table and order at the bar. Which, again, was fine, except there was a sign to view the menu using a QR code- also fine, but we couldn't find the QR code- anywhere. We eventually found paper menus. I ordered the soup of the day which was tomato based with chicken and mozzarella. It was the best part of the meal. I got the pulled pork sliders on pretzel buns. It was so dry. I needed to ask for mustard. That helped some but overall the taste was average at best. The biggest, and oddest, disappointment was the cucumber and watermelon seltzer. There was a very distinct taste that I couldn't put my finger on until I forced myself to take three sips. Finally I pegged the taste as pepto bismol - which is definitely not cucumber or watermelon. It certainly had to have been a bad batch. A very strange and very unsatisfying experience. Maybe it was just a fluke. I like to give places second chances because you never know what the story is and it could have been an off night. But, this place won't make it back on my list. One positive is that they had a few option of non-alcoholic beer.
