My husband brought home a plate of their garlic chicken and garlics shrimp. I admit, I judge the looks a little bit. But as soon as I took a bite of the chicken, I was HOOKED!!! A young man with a Polynesian appearance sitting next to us said to the woman working that this was the best Kalua pork he had ever had, and we agreed! The garlic chicken had been cooked hours before, was barely warm, dry, and crunchy not in a good way. It too was sweet. As always, I am excited to welcome a locally owned and operated restaurant to our side of the valley-where there is a plethora of chains to choose from. Because of this, I go out of my way to pick something local over others. My wife and I visited for dinner and were excited to have an authentic Hawaiian meal. I had the kulua pig and she had the garlic chicken. I really enjoyed my meal, although she didn't care for hers much. We'd definitely return, she just might order something different. One bit of feedback-the young lady that took our order was really unfriendly. It may be that she was having a bad day, but it felt very out of character from the Aloha vibe that we expected. We compared this to other places in the vicinity and Aunty's makes the best garlic chicken, in my humble opinion. It is potent so if you love garlic, this truly makes the mark. The short ribs had excellent smokey flavor and is tasty throughout. If you enjoy chicken katsu, heads up, they now have curry that you can order with it. Pour dat all ova da rice! Broke da mout LoL their Loco moco is good too. I like how they put little bit imitation crab in their Mac salad. Every time we've ordered, we must've arrived a tad bit late. Anytime we hear of a new Hawaiian restaurant in the area we are all in to try it out. It was nice inside, your topical Hawaiian decor. We walked right up and ordered. The staff was friendly, and the prices were about the same as other like places in the area. Our food came to the table within 10 minutes. The food was good, but not quite as good as what we get at our favorite place. We ordered basically the same dishes we always get, but somehow it just wasn't hitting the hunger spot the same way. I did like that they have the sauces out so you can try them all and get as much as you need. Some other places charge you for extra sauce.
