The folks here are really nice and all working hard to get orders out. Ekolu plate - comes w/ 3 scoped rice and 2 scoped Mac salad. The rice was cooked well but the macaroni needed a few more minutes of cook time but had good flavor ! Our meat choices were - Katsu chicken a bit over done - Teri chicken over done too bad as flavor was good. Teri steak was perfect good flavor and not over cooked. They were busy so I was surprised the chicken was very dry. I know this location is new and maybe a bit more time is needed to get to know this market. So good! I usually get a mini with just teriyaki chicken. But for some reason, the salad was calling to me today. The worker was very helpful and describing it to me and telling me what his favorite kind of meat was that goes with it. So I ordered itwith no tomatoes and extra mandarin orange slices. I placed an online order for 10:45 am this morning, and ended up falling asleep due to a migraine, and never picked the food up. I called in at about 1:30 pm, and explained the situation, and Christian was nice enough to remake my entire order for me. I came in to pick up my order, and John and Sativa were so kind. I got the pork with white rice, Mac salad, musubi and the lilikoi and they did NOT disappoint. The ONLY thing that wasn't my favorite was the Mac salad. The food was tasty as expected! I was slightly disappointed with the outer layer of my chicken being overdone and the edges more burnt than I'm used to. I just cut it off and it was fine. I understand that with grilling sometimes that happens. The Mac salad is always top notch and mixed with the rice it is an amazing side to the teriyaki chicken. Place has gone downhill. The one in Salt Lake used to be great and so I expected this one to be but no go. Ordered an Ekolu today with steak, teri chicken, and pig and it was so dry. I've literally had jerky that was more fresh and moist than the steak and chicken I had today. I guarantee you, rather than throw away the food after the allotted time that THEY SET, they wanted to be lazy and cut costs by giving me literally all the old, dry meat. It was terrible and inedible so I just threw it away because of course I didn't find out until I got home. Am I supposed to expect that the order will be wrong or the quality will be poor and check every single time I go there? I go here often, because the food never disappoints. I need it now that I am thinking about it to. I have never had bad service or bad food here, I have seen the bad reviews about soggy food but I have actually never had soggy food here just fresh crispy and tasty. Telling your customer it's going to be a 6 minute wait for fresh food...then having the customer wait for 20 minutes and forgetting about the food even though there's only two small parties because you are chit chatting is not acceptable. Neither is awkwardly handing your customer their food without saying a word after the customer has to come up and ask for their meal and then snickering and whispering behind the customer's back instead of apologizing or offering to make things right.
