On a Sunday afternoon, there was not much open in this part of the valley. But I saw the "open" sign lit up on Lolo's, so I pulled in to the parking lot with an empty belly and high hopes. I was greeted enthusiastically by the person behind the counter, who looked like he might be the owner of the place. I ordered the mini meal-whose name is deceptive. It still was plenty for me, plus I had a lot left to take home for a second meal. The teriyaki chicken was flavorful and moist, with an extra side of teriyaki sauce. I opted to try to drive-through at this restaurant. Picture is the two meat combo. I tried the kalbi short rib and the teriyaki chicken. Along with the macaroni salad. Personally, I thought the short rib was a little chewy and could be warmer. The barbecue chicken I enjoyed. I do you like my teriyaki chicken, a little more saucy. The macaroni salad was pretty bland. Personally, I prefer mine on the sweeter side so that could just be a personal preference. I just want to thank you guys for helping us out last minute. Yesterday we were running errands & trying to figure out how we were going to pull off feeding 50-100ppl when catering on a Sunday knowing a lot of places are closed and to avoid cooking we spotted Lolo Hawaiian at the West Jordan location when we were going to check if Kings Buffet would do it. Thank goodness they said they have a location in Draper closer to us and open on Sundays. I want to thank Lareta who helped us & made things so easy for us to order what we needed and made things that simple and took loads off our shoulders that we were able to place orders with them and their great portions of meats & sides for a party of 100+ last minute & the day before not even being a 24hr in advance kinda deal. We ordered 2 trays of teriyaki chicken, 2 trays of teriyaki beef, 2 trays of mac salad and 2 trays of rice & we got the gyoza tray. Oh let's not forget thanks for suggesting the package deal that was a bit cheaper!! Satisfied customers & so was everyone else. So when we stumbled upon this spot before hittng the nearby aquarium, I was excited!! The place has plenty of parking in a shared lot with other stores nearby. I had the Two Meat Combo plate (I dug in too fast to remember to take a picture) and my boyfriend ordered the Loco Moco. Each had a sizable protein serving, and two large scoops of rice and an equally large scoop of Mac salad. Definitely come hungry! I have eaten here before and enjoyed it, but something was wrong with their teriyaki sauce AND macaroni salad. It had an awful chemical flavor and neither me or my wife finished the meal. We ordered it over uber eats so we weren't able to write why we disliked it so much. But there was something either rotten or chemically in the sauce - it was inedible. I think this is great Hawaiian plate lunch food! If you're in the area and looking for a reasonably priced plate lunch this is a good spot to go to. I'm new to the Draper area and all the Hawaiian spots near me didn't have drive through windows so the best part about Lolo's for my fiancé and I is that they have that capability of providing drive through at this location. The portions are great which is pretty universal with all plate lunch spots, at least in my experience. The staff always have been warm and polite, and for it being made fresh the drive through time is pretty quick. Overall the service and portions are great, the only thing that held me back from giving 5 starts to them back is that the food is a little bit blander flavors compared to other local Hawaiian food places in the salt lake valley. read more

This may be one of my more favorite Hawaiian places, at least for musubi, definitely for musubi, as they do it quite well here. Usually that's all I wind up getting because it's a bit more, but you get very ample portions and it's done well, fresh on the grill, so it comes out nice and hot. The other menu items I've tried over the years have been quite good as well, but even though I'm a big fat guy, getting all that pushes my limits pretty hard and as I generally use this as a lunch spot, I have to be a bit more judicious to retain some degree of functionality. It's nice to know if I ever decide to play food coma day, though, I have a spot right at the ready. I wound up the the teri chicken musubi and the spam musubi and I threw in the chicken just to change things up a bit, but quickly remembered why I usually don't. The chicken is not "clean," as in fat removed, to the degree of my liking usually, so I wind up having to disassemble and "fix" it, as I did here. Still quite tasty, of course. The spam musubi was the usual brilliance and Coke Zero on tap, so all in all, very nice. read more

I will say up front that I am a Mo Bettahs fan for life. I am a Hawaiian food fan. I am also 1/8 Hawaiian. And I generally like to eat. So it's kind of easy to please me when it comes to this kind of stuff. Unfortunately, my food from Lolo did not hit the spot. I rarely take myself out to lunch, for financial and also health reasons. But I had been wanting to try this place for a long time and decided to splurge. I was impressed with the variety of the menu, but (like with Cheesecake Factory) it's probably better to do a few things really well than do a lot of things just OK. I had the teriyaki chicken, rice, and macaroni salad. I did not like the sauce that came with the teriyaki chicken. It was runny and not very flavorful. It's hard to do rice and macaroni salad wrong. The mac salad was just pretty standard. I actually really liked the rice. It had a unique flavor. I used the drive-thru which is a pretty nice feature (especially during COVID), and they moved fairly quickly during lunch time. I might give this place another try, just with something else on the menu. I love spam musubi and shrimp, so maybe I'll give those a go. (P.S. my grandpa said growing up in Honolulu, a "lolo" was the equivalent of a moron. I'm not sure if that's changed since the 1940s, but just thought everyone here would appreciate that fun fact.) read more

Literally it's a knock off version of mo bettahs. Let me explain it this way. Kokonut island grill is like the Bible and Mo Bettahs is like the Book of Mormon those are both important and good. This is like the J Dub bible cause it had the right name for the food or as in the J Dub Bible the right names in the Bible. Just the only problem is the teriyaki beef tasted like shrimp you can guess where I'm going with the J Dub Bible. As for the service it was slow and long like your boyfriend's bathroom trip.
