I scheduled an underarm wax appointment, but unfortunately woke up the morning of my appointment…read morefeeling ill. The clinician called me to ask if I could come in early and I said yes hoping to be feeling better but as I began to work on some things at home I felt worse and worse. (I just found out I have Covid). I attempted to reschedule through Vagaro, but because my appointment was less than six hours away, the system would not allow me to do so. I called the salon and was informed by a staff member that I would be charged a $10 cancellation fee despite being sick and wanting to reschedule rather than cancel outright. Since my service was only an underarm wax, the fee amounted to approximately 40% of the total service cost. I asked whether an exception could be made given the circumstances, but was told it was the "manager's policy." The response felt very scripted and lacked any empathy for the situation. I ultimately agreed to pay the fee, but asked that the manager be informed they had lost a customer over $10. Unfortunately, the experience became even more disappointing. The manager, Sarah, called me after I had already explained that I was sick and wanted to discuss the situation. I was really not feeling well and did not appreciate receiving a call to discuss this further. I told the manager that, because I wasn't feeling well, the only discussion I was interested in having was whether the cancellation fee would be refunded. Instead of addressing my concern, Sarah ended the call abruptly by HANGING UP ON ME. I understand that businesses have cancellation policies, but customer service and compassion matter. A little flexibility for a client who woke up sick and was trying to reschedule, not avoid paying, would have gone a long way. Instead, I was charged a fee that represented a significant portion of the service cost and was treated in a way that ensured I won't be returning. If you book here, just be aware that if you wake up sick on the day of your appointment, you should expect the cancellation fee to be enforced regardless of the circumstances.

They send you a text reminder, and you must cancel at least 24 hours before your appointment to avoid a fee. One special thing to note is if you book a service that's at least an hour, you receive a complimentary foot soak as long if you arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment. This was a nice touch. When I arrived, Cristina, from the front desk walked me to their quiet room, which has the ultimate relaxation vibes. She was amazing! I would leave 10 stars for Aura Nail Place, if I could! From the moment you walk through the front door, you are greeted with warm smiles and exceptional customer service. Everyone is so professional, kind, and they check with you every step of the way to make sure you are happy with your nails. My technicians were Tam (for my nails) and Tammy (for my toes) and both are absolutely amazing. I have been to Tam several times for dip nails, and he is a true nail artist. I showed him a design I was thinking about, and he created nails that were even more beautiful than I thought possible! During my most recent visit, I turned on Google Translate and heard a staff member making derogatory comments about my appearance in their language. Specifically, they said that "all this skin could be be made as pork grinds." Hearing this as a customer was shocking, offensive, and deeply inappropriate. No customer should ever be spoken about this way, regardless of language. It created a very uncomfortable and disrespectful environment. In addition to this, this is not the first issue I have had here. On a prior visit, I was almost overcharged and only after asking to see the receipt did the staff suddenly realize the total was incorrect and said it had been a mistake. During this same recent visit, when I tried to pay using Zelle or Venmo, I used the exact phone number that was posted on their payment sign. I was told the number was wrong and that the payment had not been received. Only after I showed my confirmation screen and pointed out that I used their posted number did the staff say it was fine. Taken together, the derogatory comments, attempted overcharging, and confusing payment handling show a pattern of unprofessional and concerning behavior. This experience crossed several lines, and I will not be returning. This raises concerns how many other customers may have been overcharged in these cases. This is clearly a pattern of behavior, not a one-time mistake, and I will be reporting this business to the Better Business Bureau.

I've given this salon several chances since it opened, but my latest experience was incredibly…read moredisappointing. My first pedicure felt rushed and inexperienced. After a friend raved about her visit, I decided to try again. Since then, my pedicures have been mixed--some good, some just okay. I held off on reviewing because I like Julie and wanted to give the salon a fair chance. On Saturday, I got a manicure and pedicure before my vacation. I rarely get manicures because I don't have time for the upkeep, but I decided to treat myself to gel. By Monday, the polish on two nails was already peeling at the corners. I went back Wednesday before leaving for vacation, and Anna repaired them. I appreciated her fixing them, but that same night, the entire piece of gel polish came off my thumbnail. Having gel peel within two days, then another nail lose its polish the evening of the repair, was extremely frustrating. As much as I like Julie and appreciate the convenient location, I won't be getting manicures here again. I wanted nails that would last through my vacation, and instead, I had to make an extra trip and still ended up with peeling polish before I even left.

Since coming here a couple years ago, my nails have held well even with a 4-6 week retention. I've never had any issues with them becoming loose or breaking. I typically get builder gel & simple designs btw :-) TIPS: - pay with cash for a $5 discount! - book your appointment 2-3 weeks ahead as they get pretty busy & don't accept walk-ins
