The fellow was nice enough, but the language barrier didn't allow me to get any questions answered. The measurements were never shared with me. I was sent a confusing PDF brochure for Larson doors to browse that had no prices listed. I had to call and email a few times to finally reach my salesperson again and get a quote. I picked a couple of doors to compare only to be told one isn't available in my size. The quote finally came through as one generic line item that was more than double what the big boxes had quoted me. It didn't even split out the door and the installation charges. At any step of the way they could have simply told me my order wouldn't meet their minimum threshold and saved all of us a lot of time and effort. I ended up giving my money to a big box store. Ironically, I've been blown away by the customer service from the box box employees/contractors every step of the way - everyone I've spoken to or has come out has been extremely responsive and friendly. I hope they're being compensated fairly because they're definitely working hard.

The…read morehandiman I worked with a couple of years ago was great, and their team came in handy for research on other projects. I recommended Fixer often (until I found out the company closed). I could not be more disappointed in the company's policy and concierges now. Although Fixer charges at least $150 more than six other estimates I got, I kept thinking, "But I know their work. I should just pay the higher rate." I was still hesitating because even their higher estimate sounded like it could increase based on the reason for the repair. When I read the Terms & Conditions policy on their website, there was nothing about a warranty on there. I decided to move on and seriously talk to the other six contractors who were contacting me. But the concierge followed up about my original request. I explained that the company having no warranty made me nervous because I could end up stuck paying for a job that needs to be redone. They heard me out and agreed to a one-year warranty as long as it was their workmanship. Although I still winced at the invoice just linking to their website where they could change the terms again any time they felt like it, I seriously considered them again. They confirmed that they would not match the price of one of the six contractors (who I decided not to work with because his LLC and invoice was sketchy). Fast forward to ONE DAY LATER and me realizing I could fix one repair myself (after speaking with another homeowner) and completing it yesterday evening. I decided to go ahead and hire them for the other, more-involved job. If the job was more expensive, so be it. At least I knew it would be with a company I could trust. And somehow, even though I agreed to THEIR higher rate and the potential that it could be higher, they backtracked on their own warranty agreement. It's like I'm being punished for having the audacity to shop around for cheaper contractors and having the wherewithal to fix one repair by myself. Shame on me, I suppose. After a bunch of back and forth and them backtracking on their own DOCUMENTED price that I'd already sent to the insurance company, I threw in the towel. I will hire someone else. I'm not about to beg a company to pay them. I miss Old Fixer. New Fixer leaves much to be desired.

Truly a garbage company…read more You would think that a company offering repair services at a set price per hour and easy scheduling would be a dream come true. Absolutely not. I booked Fixer to do multiple repairs on my home as I recently moved to another state and was preparing my home for a new tenant. The Fixer that was assigned to my home was: 1) awful at communication to my property manager 2) bypassed nearby hardware stores and took over an hour to "shop" which cost me $140 alone. 3) I had to cancel the other jobs I scheduled because at the rate he was going the 1-2 hr estimation jumped to 5-6 hrs which would've cost more than originally planned 4) the contractor disclosed to my property manager that he was unlicensed (Fixer advertises on their website that contractors were licensed) 5) Didn't even finish the 1 job he had before he left. I was charged nearly $440 for unfinished work for 1 job. It wasn't until I reached out to Fixer via email to figure what actually happened since it wasn't communicated. They explained to me that it was actually a two-day job and the Fixer would have to return. When were they going to tell me that? And I booked this service on that particular day for a reason because of the limited availability to have someone on-site for hours while we're not there. They gave me two options after I expressed my dissatisfaction and frustration: 1) they'll charge me a prorated rate for the unfinished work or 2) they'll come back at another time to finish the work and I won't be charged for the 2nd day which I really didn't have a choice but to choose. I couldn't leave the work unfinished or I'd have to find and pay someone else to finish their trash work on top of paying Fixer. The only ways to speak with this company is via text or email. If you call the number they ask you to text, it only gives you an option to leave a message and never an opportunity to speak to a representative. The customer service is truly ridiculous. Finally, when I could have someone on-site for a full day, I went to schedule a time to have the work completed and was told I had to pay the full amount prior to having a Fixer return to finish what they originally left undone! They are scheduled to come in a few weeks and I pray to God that my experience isn't as awful as the first. Maybe my experience was an one-off but I would never ever utilize this company's services again after this job is complete. Ever.

There was only 1 that had what I was looking for in a handyman company. Included in my list of requirements was BBB registration, insurance to protect customers and very positive reviews on all the main sites (Angi, Yelp, Google, etc.). It was also important that the 'company' be more than one person and have experience in the projects that I was interested in doing. Only one of those companies checked all the boxes: Welter Home Services. I called them and spoke with Kevin about our current and future needs. We had 3 projects. I wanted to do one to be sure I was pleased with their work (I was) before starting the other two. Kevin explained what labor and materials we needed to complete the job. He provided a detailed estimate with all materials and labor stated. Our first project was the replacement of a kitchen pantry door - including the whole door frame, hardware and trim. This required removing the old door, frame and trim - and painting the new door, frame and trim. On the agreed upon date, a Welter HS employee showed up at our door exactly on time. He was very pleasant and helpful. He completed the project, checked his work and made some touchups where the appearance as not "perfect", then did a great job of cleaning up the area he had worked in. We are very pleased with Welter HS and the work they completed for us: on time and for the price they quoted. We are moving forward with the next two projects and are looking forward to getting them completed with the same quality and professionalism that they applied to this first project.

To me, his number one goal is to deliver a quality product without cutting corners. He is adept with his communication and listening skills. He is very clean, he partitions his work area with plastic sheeting, not allowing dust to spread throughout your home. He cleans up every evening prior to going home. Luis successfully bade and completed two very complex jobs on time and on budget. Job 1: Remove exterior door, concert landing, replace 2 sheets of exterior siding, frame and insulate the existing opening. Hang drywall to the interior seamlessly matching the existing walls and paint. Conclusion: Luis completed the job in 3 days. Viewing the interior and exterior of my home, you'd never know an exterior door existed at the previous location. All remnants of the landing were gone. Job 2: Luis expertly hand painted (two coats) my 2000 sq ft home and elongated 2 car garage. He was very detail oriented, painting the house, trim and doors. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give Mr. Luis Lopez Handyman a solid 10 for the 2 different jobs he completed for me.
