Had a very bad panic attack yesterday around 2pm when it started and arrived there at 3. Once I got there I immediately said I think I'm having a panic attack I need help, obviously I wasn't okay. I sat down and started to wait but it only got worse. I don't have panic attacks often and this was the first one where I actually couldn't move physically. I got more and more worried as seconds went by and got up to see when my turn was, when I got up I couldn't talk, my throat was closing. They insisted I sat down in the back room and seemed like they've never seen this before and acted like it was nothing or I was some sort of alien. I wish it was nothing because it was just the beginning of a 7 hour long thing. I saw a total of 5-6 nurses during my time there. My hands tensed up and eventually I was unable to open my hands freely to grab Anything. I got asked multiple times if I had anyone to call, obviously I did but my fingers weren't working so I had to ask them to use my phone. They kept on chuckling at the fact I couldn't use my hands and my face was going numb, I thought I was having a stroke. They didn't make me feel safe, they made me feel like I had something worse wrong with me because they weren't saying anything about what was going on! acting like this kind of thing happens and then goes away in minutes. Clearly they're not educated on this because they shoved me in a separate room while I waiting for my parent to come get me 50 minutes away because I couldn't drive. My knees started to lock up and I was worried how I was going to walk to the car. Now, this was the first time I've had a panic attack this extreme and I don't wish this on my WORST enemy but I do know that when someone is like that they just need to feel safe and if anything were to happen I was in the right hands. I didn't feel safe, they left me in a back room for the whole 50 minutes and "checked" on me once when my ride was already 5 minutes away and if you're having a panic attack 5 minutes feels like an hour. I asked if they could give me something for my anxiety and she said no, they "didn't have anything for anxiety in the building" and gave me Tylenol for my cramped hands. No help at all!!!! It was honestly a traumatizing experience to say the least. One lady made me feel somewhat better and that was the lady at the front desk, she got me water (that I was unable to drink due to my hands cramped, but it was the thought that counts) I think she wanted to do more but didn't have that control. The nurses in the back made me feel so dumb and silly for what I was going through. I can't emphasize enough that they made me feel STUPID! One lady just kept on chuckling at me when I would talk because my lips were paralyzed. Seemed like they all just wanted to run away from me because they didn't know how to help. I was thinking to myself "they couldn't give me anything, I didn't need surgery or anything major" but -I learned- when your body is like that you just need to feel safe and if something were to happen you are in the right hands and I was sitting in a small uncomfy chair for all of my stay. They told me to go to emergency room. Which I did because once I got there I was unable to walk because my knees locked up and my body stop functioning. I couldn't breathe and my face was paralyzed, it was hard to talk and my arms were pulled to my chest. I was scared! Anyways, if you're ever having a panic attack literally go anywhere else but here because they shrugged it off like it was a bug bite. Which if you've ever had a panic attack, feels like you're dying. Majority of the time I thought I was having a stroke. Just to put things into perspective. I'm not thing kind of person to write mean/bad reviews but I just need to let other know if you're ever going through this^^ go to the emergency room or somewhere you feel taken care of immediately. Not here! If I could give it zero stars I would. People should be educated on this because I feel like the people at this facility were not!!!! Educate yourself and don't be ignorant! read more
