This is Hallman Industries. DO NOT PURCHASE from this company, you will regret it. I purchased a fridge from them in May 2024 but wasn't able to install it until October when I found out the freezer doesn't work. I emailed them but received no response. Before I found out about the fridge not working, I purchased a dishwasher in August 2024 from them. I received no shipping confirmation and sent them multiple emails over a period of months and called them several times, each time waiting an average of 1.5 hours to get someone on the phone. They kept promising that the dishwasher would ship the next week, but never did. The last call, I waited 2 hours, and then was hung up on. I immediately sent them an email, cancelled my order and ordered another dishwasher. Never received an email response. The next day, I received a call from Seal logistics to schedule delivery. I refused delivery because I had cancelled the order. I am having custom cabinets put in that are made based on the dishwasher specs, so this company has caused me nothing but heartache. There are countless reviews here that all say the same thing. TERRIBLE communication. I can't tell you how many times I've been promised a spec sheet or a receipt or anything and no one ever followed up. Not to mention that you can't ever get someone in the phone. I can't tell you how many times I've been told, "Really sorry we just lost an employee." We had a delivery scheduled for today 12/17/19, we had our electricians scheduled to work today and our contractor plus an extra guy to get the range into the house. My husband rearranged his schedule to be home when the range arrived. Guess what? No range. It's truly unbelievable. Can't get a hold of anyone there. The person who l had been talking to no longer can be reached at her extension. Can't get a decent spec sheet that tells you where the power and gas lines should be placed, was told "just make sure everything is less than 7" off the ground, and was eventually sent a spec sheet for a 48" range (we ordered a 30" range and the handwritten notes in that spec sheet are difficult to understand and say 9" off the ground). Still waiting for the last of 4 brass bars we ordered from them. If l had to do it over again l would find a different range because this company had been an absolute nightmare to deal with. Sku : HGR4801 RANGE KNOBS We need replacement knobs for this range as the 'chrome' has worn off three of them. We have had this range for 2 years now. Also the main oven door does not close tight and line up with the smaller range door next to it. I have tried calling their shop and never get a call back or even an email. I tried submitting a request online but a pop up asking for user name and password comes up which is an obvious glitch. Their whole operation is filled with 'glitches'. Wanted an extra wine rack shelf, no call back.......ignition on stove went out before Thanksgiving last year, they said a month, I got one overnight after I removed it myself and googled the model number. I promptly agreed to: a.) Ship to a different address other than Naperville, IL b.) Ship the order to the credit card billing address. And then another two days and two unanswered emails later they tell me on 11/18/15: "I was just informed that we are not able to ship that brand into your area." Same as another reviewer here, purchased a $4,000 stove and almost all the burners wont stop clicking when in use. Local repair person they sent over thought it was regulator, then Aus-Tex sends a regulator for a totally different model, but couldn't send the appropriate part until the owner was back from vacation ?!?. But it turns out when they did send the correct part (1 month later) the regulator didn't solve the problem. Certain burners when lit, if you put a pan on them, the flame becomes uneven and just dissapears in the one spot around the igniter so it keeps clicking because it senses that the flame went out, when it actually has not. My repair person notified Aus-Tex, so they know my stove is not repaired, and they have never followed up with me to resolve. They clearly don't care. read more

These people are beyond sleezy. We purchased an NXR grill from them online for $799 (Costco sells it for $899, so we thought this was a deal). They sent us a Nexgrill (same as Charmglo as far as we can tell) which sells at Home Depot in the $300 range. The invoice has the Nexgrill (cheap) model number on it but has the proper, i.e., what we thought we were buying NXR name. Further research has shown that the model we received hasn't even been manufactured since 2007! When we disputed the charge with American Express, the owner of Aus-Tex called our house and called my husband a "F***ing S**t". He hung up immediately. Stay away from this company. read more

I was originally interested in a NXR range from Costco. While I was doing research on the NXR I stumbled upon the Hallman range at Austex. I called to inquire if there were any differences between the two. The NXR at Costco came with 6 15k BTU burners while the Hallman cam with 2 9k, 2 12k, and 2 15k burners. I called multiple times with questions and Morgan at Austex was very kind in answering my questions. During our initial conversation I was told that there was a new version of the Hallman range that was coming out with 18k burners, but I was assured by Morgan that the burners could be swapped out for 18k burners. Just to verify, I called the next day to verify with Ben Hallman whether this was the case and once again I was assured that it would be no problem. I placed my order for the Hallman 6 burner range along with a Hallman hood on February 17, this totaled up to about $2900. I made sure to note that I wanted the 18k burners along with the order, which once again I was assured that was possible and that I should expect the order by the first week of March. This is when the nightmare began. The first week of March came and passed and still no range or hood. I called Morgan and she said that due to a strike in at the port, the range will be delivered in another two weeks. We went back and forth about containers and strikes until April 16th when my range was finally delivered, two months after my order was placed and 6 weeks after it was promised. I looked for the additional burners and they were not there. I called to inquire about the 18k burners and I was told that they were not sent with the order because again, there was a strike and the company that sent the range didn't include the burners in the shipment. I should have it in two months when they sent another order. June comes and I call Morgan again, this time I was directed to Ben Hallman, and I was told that the burners won't be coming until the beginning of September. I should've started to suspect something at this point, but I just made a note to call Austex in September. I called after Labor day in September and morgan told me that the burners won't be there until the end of September. I called again at the end of September and I was told I would get a call back. Fast forward two weeks, it is October 14th, 8 months after I ordered my range, and this time I demand to speak with Ben about these burners. I got Teresa on the phone and I was told that Ben was busy and I should send him an email. This being 8 months after my order, I again demanded to speak with the owner and I was promptly hung up upon. I called back two times until Ben answered the phone and I was told that the 18k burners would NOT fit on my stove. After 8 months of phone calls, this is what I was finally told. The only thing that Ben could offer me was an apology and a discount on a future item. I can not trust buying another item from this business, so the discount is not something that I can use. I would stay far away from this company, like the other reviews online about Austex, they are sneaky and they are not trustworthy. read more

There was a last minute switch needed (we thought we needed a gas appliance but it was electric), and she made it happen without issue. She communicated pending fees accurately. She quoted a delivery fee incorrectly, but honored the original amount quoted. We went to Aus-Tex on March 6, 2018 to purchase a 48" Hallman stove for our kitchen remodel. We had been to the store 2 times prior, looking, talking to them about it, and finally went in to order it. On a previous visit to the store, we were told it was a $500.00 upgrade for the color, which I was willing to do to get the color I wanted (ruby red). However, the day we arrived to order the stove, we were told that "unfortunately" they had made a mistake and the color upgrade was $1,500.00. I said no, I was not going to be taken advantage of, and they had had plenty of time to advise me of this, and we would just go buy my stove somewhere else. They backed off. We paid for the stove in full by credit card, as that was what was required. We were told that purchasing a color would be a 15 week delivery time. That was fine with us, putting the delivery to June 15. On June 1, I called Aus-Tex and talked with Naomi, who told me that the stove had arrived and it was in customs in Houston. She said it takes about a week to get the container cleared for pickup. (NOTE: containers have manifests and they should have had a copy to know exactly what was in the container.) I told her we were leaving on vacation on June 12, and I would call her on June 11 if I had not heard from her. No word, so I called on June 11 and was told they were going to Houston that day to pick it up. I gave her our builder's name and phone number so when they got it here it could be delivered and installed. We returned from vacation on June 30. No stove at our house. I called Aus-Tex and spoke again with Naomi who told me it was not in the container but it would be in the next one coming July 30-31st. So we waited. On July 31st, I called and was told it was shipping that day and would be in the first week of September. Well, that date came and went also, and on September 28, my husband and I went to Aus-Tex and demanded our money back. We had been more than patient with them. They had our money for almost 7 months and we had no stove. They went to the back office and apparently made a phone call, and when they came out we were asked for our credit card so that they could give us the refund. We asked what about the stove? We were told that they HAD NO RECORD OF OUR ORDER! We did get our money back and bought a Zline from Lowe's which I love. It's not the red stove I had planned my new kitchen around, but Lowe's ordered and got it to us and installed in less than 2 weeks. I would NEVER recommend Aus-Tex to anyone. My intuition told me when they asked for an increased price for the color to just walk out, but I wanted it so badly for my kitchen that I fell for their promises. Don't deal with them. I also had a friend who ordered a Hallman through Home Depot (who goes through Aus-Tex to order them I understand) and her order (a cobalt blue stove) was cancelled by Hallman a month into the order and she only found out by calling to check on it. Whatever you do, DO NOT GIVE THIS BUSINESS YOUR MONEY - you could achieve the same effect in a lot less time by just throwing your money into a fire. I spent five thousand dollars on a range that hasn't worked properly since day one. The performance of the ovens is wildly inconsistent, functioning properly about 60% of the time. Also, one of the burners on the stove top fails to ignite about half the time. I started a customer service case file through their website as instructed within days of installing the range and the entire situation since then has been an absolute nightmare of a joke - and the joke is on me to the tune of 5 grand. Since starting the worthless "case file" back in July - it's #4280 if you're reading this, Hallman, Aus-Tex, or whatever you people are calling yourselves - they sent one "technician" who came and turned the ovens and burner on and since it happened to be on a day that they decided to work he said "I don't see a problem". I told him the problems were intermittent and didn't always occur and so could he plus investigate further but he gave me some bull about "new appliances often need time to work out the kinks before performing consistently" and then left. Since then the problems have continued and over the past FIVE MONTHS I have sent countless emails that have been ignored and when I try to call I only get a recording telling me to complain through email... Finally, in desperation, I filed a complaint with the BBB and the only thing that came of it was John Hallman leaving me a message saying that going to the BBB "isn't going to get you service faster". WOW. Faster than what? How many more months did he think I should wait around not being able to cook for my family? I did everything I was supposed to do and here I am five months later with no working oven/range, I'm out five thousand dollars, and my BBB complaint has been closed as "unresolved" because Hallman refuses to honor their warranty or even communicate with me or the BBB. So that's it. 1-800-JUNK is coming to pick up the worthless, probably dangerous Hallman range currently in my kitchen and I'm on the search once again for a 48" range but this time I am much poorer because Hallman Industries stole $5,000 from me. Morgan was the absolute best and she could not have been any nicer. Superb customer service. They left out the extension brackets for my vent hood, but they sent the correct ones the next day. We ordered a beautiful Hallman range when we remodeled our kitchen. It was stunning when it finally arrived 6 months later. The specs for install weren't clear and we had to have an electrician come out and rewire for the range. The ranges are not ready to go right out of the box and a professional installer has to come out and calibrate all of the burners. Within a month one of the burners stopped lighting. We finally found a company willing to repair our Hallman. Then the warranty company said we had to use their repair people. O.K. then we waited months for the part. On opening our range we were told that it was wired incorrectly and all of the ignitors would fail as well as the oven electronics. Hallman agrees we have a lemon but 15 months after installation and 7 months after notifying them repeatedly of the problem we are still at a standstill. They want us to ship the range to them and then when they get it they promise to send a new one. During the pandemic I don't want to live without a range for an unspecified period of time. read more

I had a great experience with Aus-Tex. I had a bum washer that I bought from Designer Appliances in New Jersey that was damaged in the shipping and they refused to replace. I turned to Aus-Tex and they found one of only 2 remaining Blomberg washers in the U.S. that would fit with my dryer. They delivered, installed and hauled away the old washer quickly and even called me to let me know how the first washer had been installed wrong, sending pics and talking me through what went wrong. I thought Conn's was bad until I went to this guy! Horrible experience with these people. We purchased a high end stove, dishwasher, refrigerator and vent a hood from them. Once they finally delivered the appliances we found that the refrigerator was so loud you cannot have a conversation in the same room. We had chosen a commercial True refrigerator because we were looking for an All refrigerator unit. Ben showed us some pictures of one in someone's home and when we asked him if it was loud he said "No it is not loud I have sold several for residential use" What a sham it is loud and not only that the fan never stops. When we finally got someone to respond from this company we told them about the issues with the unit and that we wanted to be reimbursed since they misrepresented the product. After 2 weeks of trying we finally get a response from Ben Hallman this is his emailed response: "I don't accept returns on anything. That's why the bottom of your invoice says "ALL SALES FINAL" Only thing is you do not see an invoice until you receive your appliances from this crook and obviously he has done things like this in the past or he would not have had that little line printed on his invoices! Beware these people will mislead you and Ben in particular will say anything to get you to buy from them. read more
