I would not recommend buying a car from AAB without an independent mechanical inspection or else you could end up out of a lot more $ than just what you paid for the car. An expensive one, like a $5800 transmission!!! We bought a Suburban here at the end of October. Bobby, who is also the general manager, came across as a nice guy & we enjoyed getting to hear about his family during the purchase process. The next day it was a different story & the start of a frustrating nightmare. We started cleaning the whole car & found the passenger floor to be soaking wet. It was raining that day so we thought maybe the door had been cracked. We soaked it all up with towels. But the next day it was back. This specific problem is commonly from AC line leaks. I notifed Bobby & he said this was a new problem because he drove the car to work daily & it was never wet where he put his bag and must have been something we did. I explained there were thick rubber mats and you wouldnt feel a wet floor under them. He then told me I was lying & he only had carpet mats in the car. I was not amused about being called a liar. Thankfully i take a lot of pictures & was able to prove I was not lying in about 30 seconds with a pic I took of the car sitting in his lot with the thick rubber mats the day we bought it. He was forced to apologize. Then started a huge back & forth where 3-4 times we had to bring the car in to mechanics of his choice very far from our home. There were repairs on the AC done under warranty. The leak is better & not soaking the floorboard but it is still leaking as evidenced by moisture on the plastic mat when lifting it & a moldy smell that we are frequently having to Lysol. None of his mechanics can figure out why. We are a must have 2 car household & Bobby kindly agreed to pay $50 a day for a rental car for me, but I had to ask over & over before being reimbursed which was also frustrating. The last few weeks of our warranty the car started stalling/slipping a bit. I wasnt sure what was going on at the time. We did try to call Bobby and got a full voicemail. Next our transmission went out and it was a $5800 REPAIR!!! Money that we dont have that is drastically hurting us as a family. We have tried to contact Bobby multiple times. Still has full voicemails & he is not responding to any of our texts. I am going to be filing a BBB complaint but in the meantime wanted to warn other potential customers you may want to second guess doing business with AAB, because you may get a car with major mechanical repairs needed that you didnt budget for & you may also be completely ignored when you try to contact them about it. Sadly I was going to leave a 5 star review when I purchased my car 4 months ago as the process was very smooth and Edgar was great to work with. Fast forward 4 MONTHS LATER and I still don't have metal plates and my credit union still does not have the title of my car I'm financing-- because this dealer sold me a trade in BUT there is still a previous owner on that title that is deceased. I'm driving around with expired paper tags (which may have not even been legit tags to begin with) and I'm constantly being ignored, I have to follow up every week or else I'll never get an update. I am currently being ghosted by the manager Pete Planty and there is absolutely zero accountability to be had. This was my very first used car buying experience and I was a bit skeptical at first, however my initial phone call with Connor put me right at ease. It WASN'T a high pressure, over promise experience at all but rather one that seemed very helpful and honest. Geico put me in touch with this dealership as my Honda Hybrid had been totaled and it is a very long wait currently for a new one. They had the model I wanted and it was actually a year newer with less miles on it and it very good condition. From what I could tell, this dealership specializes in highly sought after makes/models in newer model years. Not a junker in sight! After Connor was quick to respond to my request for a car fax, I felt comfortable heading down to the dealership. Connor was very personable, answered my questions, and left me alone to inspect the car with no pressure. This made me feel comfortable enough to go through with the sale. We did notice a few things that needed to be resolved that were missing such as the wheel lock key and air compressor and they were taken care of without fanfare. Update - I didn't change my star rating since this wasn't a factor in my purchase but I do want to point something out. I was offered "free oil" changes after I purchased the car. It was after the purchase so I considered it just a nice perk. The oil changes are really just $25 dollar off coupons and it tells you where to go get them. I attempted this and, first, it's not convenient. The location does not stock filters on hand, so the oil change would take hours (waiting isn't practical). And second, the coupon does not cover the cost of the oil change. I was quoted 68 dollars AFTER the discount. I called JiffyLube and for the equivalent oil, it was 48 dollars. For a high performance oil, it was 69 dollars. So I will never use these coupons. read more

Updating my review because of the effort their GM, John went to in order to make things right. I had a terrible experience with their salesman Daniel. He promised several things would be fixed after I purchased and kept blowing me off, forgetting my appointments and flat out lying to my face. However, their GM John went above and beyond to make things right afterwards. Everything has since been fixed and John kept me updated every step of the way. He was honest and real with me, which is extremely hard to come by. Hope their owner knows what a great asset to their company he is and their sales people should take note. This was hands down the best and easiest car buying experience I have ever had. They took the time to figure out what would really work best for my needs and budget, worked hard to get me the best deal they could, then took the time to make sure the car I went with was in the best possible condition. Normally I don't write reviews because it's just too much of a hassle. However, I felt compelled to write about my experience so that others hopefully don't have to go through the same thing. First, I went to the dealer because they did have an attractive used car with low mileage that was priced below market value. They advertised the vehicle with all the bells and whistles to include navigation with back up camera. When I test drove the car, every thing was great except for the in-dash screen. The screen was black flashing upgrade needed like as if a computer got a virus. The sales guy says that the mechanic can fix it with no problem so we made a deal since I was in a rush to buy a car because I had just moved from California. The next day I took the car to dealer and it took an entire day for the mechanic to fix it. When I went back to the dealer, the sales guy says that the car had an after market radio and the problem was fixed. At this time, the in-dash screen worked displaying radio info and others. However, it had no navigation or back up camera like they had advertised. At first, I didn't even realize this and the sales guy obviously tried to hide it by not saying anything. So, I tried to contact the Autotrader where I first saw the ad to retrieve the old ad. Then I went back to the dealer to confront them of their false advertisement. The sales associate and the manager tried to argue that it was not their fault saying when advertisers put in the car vin number, it automatically generates all the information about the car. It was incredible how these guys just would not fess up to their dishonesty. After arguing for several minutes, at least the owner had some integrity by offering me 500.00 discount for all my troubles. So, is everything okay you may ask? This story would have a happy ending if this is how it ended. No! We have to go back to that in-dash screen that the mechanic supposedly had fixed. To this day it is still not working properly, and I have to take it back to dealer for the third time for them to look at it again. To end this very wordy review, DON'T trust these incompetent, dishonest, and sleazy characters. Do your homework thoroughly and don't let them take advantage of YOU!!! My 3-month warranty had recently expired and I was told by someone at their office that I'd be on my own. John, the General Manager, saw my review and asked me to call him. I'm updating my review only because the new GM fought to have our car looked at and also informed me that the previous sales guy that we dealt with is no longer with the company. I wish it didn't have to go that far, but just goes to show you can't always trust your employees. I will give credit to the mechanic who worked on our car this time and spoke with my husband, he seemed very genuine and busted his ass to fix the problem, he comes off as the guy you want working on your car. The new GM does seem to care about his clients and I hope the owner understands that his GM is not afraid to address issues and handle whats wrong, you don't find that at too many dealerships. since my initial review back in October 2019, Austin Auto Brokers have done zero to resolve the major mechanical problem with the 2013 Range Rover. Rather than go back into detail about telling you what I think about these terrible dealership, I will just tell you the following. The people CLAIM they do a 100 plus point inspection on ALL their vehicles. Well when i brought the Range Rover home I began to inspect the engine bay. I removed a black plastic cover, directly above the engine. I noticed some strange looking debris all over the top of the engine. I used my garden blower to blow all the debris off. After taking closer look at the debris, I was shocked to realize it was a large amount of RAT SHIT!!! Wow ! This proves that Austin Auto Brokers are LYING RATS. ( I am not laughing ). Folks do yourself a favor and stay away from these losers.Hard to believe they get any positive reviews. Probably fake !!! read more

Salesman Michael Ortiz. Vehicle purchased was a 2010 GMC Canyon. Initial issues with truck were bald and unbalanced tires, the engine light came on during the test drive, and service TPMS was showing on the DIC. Made tentative agreement with Michael that I would purchase the vehicle after thoroughly checking everything else out. That agreement was to install new tires at my expense, troubleshoot and fix check engine light (O2 sensor defective) and determine cause of TPMS issue. Michael did get the tires replaced with tires of my choosing and did have the O2 sensor replaced. He advised me that the tire shop told him it was a defective tire sensor. After tires replaced and O2 sensor replaced I test drove truck again and loved the handling and performance of the truck. Upon purchase Michael told me the owner holds onto a set of keys for the vehicle until the plates come in and they are delivered with the plates. Overall not a bad experience, but when I called about 3 weeks later to find out about my plates I was told Michael was no longer employed with them. Once my plates arrived minus spare key and FOB I called the receptionist and learned there was not a second set of keys and if there is they are delivered at time of purchase, not when plates are delivered. Slightly misled on that issue. Other staff at the business were polite and helpful just irritated over the lack of a spare set of keys. read more

I have had lots of experience with buying cars from private sellers and new car dealerships. This was my first experience with buying a used car at a lot. This was just a Great experience al the way !! I was quite prepared , from watching TV an movies, to suffer through the "used car salesman's" shady tricks. When I first contacted Pete Planty, through the message system on CarGurus, I expected him to start an attack...email, telephone, text, insisting I come and see the "perfect car that will only be here for the next couple hours..." but Pete simply answered questions I had. I was all over the place regarding the various cars I had in mind but talking with Pete was like talking with a solid work acquaintance whose opinion I respect, when I ask for it. I decided to make the trip to see Pete and the few cars I was interested in. I was surprised that the cars were even better than I had expected and he didn't try to get me to look at more expensive cars...there was None of that hokey stuff. I drove the cars, fell in love with a BMW convertible and got prepared to do the haggling. Again, TV and movies gave me these wrong ideas. There is a price on the car that I had already decided was fair. Its funny because I get paid commission in my job and I know I work hard. I don't know why I felt that I needed to offer a lower price, who I wanted to cut out..the guy that goes to auction and finds the car for a really good price? The guy that get the car pretty and ready for the road? The owner who gets this all together? I certainly want Pete to get paid well! I like being part of a successful cycle where I get what I want and get treated well. I have bought 10 cars over the years and this was the best experience. It was Easy, it was enjoyable and it was quick! Next time, I will skip the days spent trying to get lucky on Craigslist, skip the CarMax and new car dealerships....I have had a single experience that has change my car buying pattern! Received call from Austin Auto Brokers offering to buy back a car we bought from them a couple of years ago so they can replenish their inventory. Sold them the car on 7/30/2016; paperwork signed, left car and keys with them, and asked if there was anything further we needed to do. Mr. Ortiz said nothing further to do, but the person who cuts checks had left already (it was a Friday), but would be there next day. Returned on Saturday and Mr. Ortiz said person who cuts checks not there on weekends, and would be there on Monday. Left message on Monday for Mr. Ortiz requesting him to notify us when check was cut. Spoke to John (saleman) later that day when he called asking if we were going to buy a car and I relayed to him that we would not be moving forward on a purchase, but we had sold our car to them on 7/30 and signed paperwork and again asked when check would be cut. Explained the initial call from Austin Auto Brokers was for a pure 'buy back' not trade in and also that I had a one on one conversation with Mr. Ortiz on Friday 7/30 confirming sale of our car was not dependent on buying a car from Austin Auto Brokers. It is now Thursday 8/4 and Austin Auto Brokers still has not cut the check for payment, though they have retained possession of our car the entire time. We honestly hoped to buy a car from them when the right one hits their lot, but after this delay in cutting the check for our car that Austin Auto Brokers purchased from us we are becoming hesitant. read more
