When asked why no call was made, I was told they were "too busy" and that it "depends on the day." This response showed a lack of customer priority and accountability. The most concerning issue was conflicting information about diagnosis and BMW involvement. At one point, I was told there was no confirmed BMW appointment, and later received a message stating the vehicle was fully programmed and calibrated without dealership involvement. If they wanted more money to do the whole job I hired them for, then first of all - communicate with me and tell me what's going on. Second, a higher bill would be crap because I shopped around and I have a written estimate for another shop for the same work. I mistakenly went with Colunga because the location was closer. If this is how they treat customers, no one should do business with Colunga Body and Paint.

Of course it looks like a lot for a little bodywork, but that's how it goes. I did find they were more reasonable than any of the three other places I went to. Best is to drop off the car for a few days, don't try and rush them, you're only hurting yourself if you do. Wait as many days as they ask and show up and the car looks great, everything looks better than you hoped. I'm dropping off my second vehicle here because after their first job, there's no other place I'd take a car for repairs. I'm even having them do some other minor repairs just to make the car look "newer".

Then hours went by with no update. I had to reach back out myself, and then followed up AGAIN because I needed to get the job done. Eventually, I was told the "tech" didn't feel comfortable doing it. Honestly, that's pretty disappointing. If you advertise a Jaguar mechanic with 20+ years of experience, I would expect a simple T30 bolt removal to be well within their capabilities--especially after being sent pictures and a video beforehand. And maybe I'm wrong, but it does make me wonder if the fact that I work on cars myself played a role. Maybe they knew I'd have a pretty good idea of what the job should actually entail and would recognize if I was being overcharged or taken advantage of.
