Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience at this location. I came in because I was feeling very sick and instead of a doctor seeing me in person, they made me sit in my car outside to have rapid testing done (because of "covid" precautions. I was tested for strep, covid, and the flu. All tests came back negative, and they did a virtual visit with me while i was sitting in my car and told me it's likely just a virus or cold and it will blow over. It became worse as the days went on and it became so bad I had to go back into the office a second time. The second time, they saw me in person and the doctor looked in my throat and noticed a severe bacterial infection. He said it was an "unspecified upper respiratory infection" and prescribed me antibiotics. They didn't even re-test me for strep throat, which seems like it'd be standard procedure. This whole time I have had strep throat that they failed to test for on my first visit because the throat swab was not done properly by the technician. So I went 4 whole days without receiving antibiotics and allowing the infection to get worse. I'm very disappointed in the lack of treatment. read more

Great doctors, terrible admin staff. Typical for the USA healthcare system unfortunately. I have been taking a maintenance medicine and keep running out because the admin stand keeps sending the prescription incorrectly to my pharmacy. They are almost IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with, and when you do you are gas lit to the moon. What good is a clinic if they can't even fulfill the most simple of obligations? The USA healthcare stystem is one of the worst in the world, and this place is a perfect example of why. read more

My doctor is wonderful, but Austin Diagnostic Clinic makes it nearly impossible to contact the billing department. I have to call the general number. I was transferred twice but nobody would give me a direct phone number to the billing department. When I got to the billing department, it was an AI assistant. I had to go in circles with AI because it only wanted to give me information about what is due and was not capable of answering questions. It finally gave me the opportunity to select "agent" by saying "4". Then, I stayed on hold for 12 minutes with silence before hanging up. read more

No one answers the phone...ever. We spend 30 minutes trying to find someone to tell us the office was open and not closed due to bad weather. (Google said office was closing soon) When we got to office no one was on any office phones, We were driving over an hour to get to the office so confirming office was still open was critical to us. I joined the patient pool of ADC Westlake 13 years ago. The wonderful Dr. Philip Moore was my endocrinologist. Amazing person and doctor and he has guided me throughout all these years. I have the same opinion on Dr. DeBehnke who was, but not anymore, my primary physician. Normally Dr. Moore's staff would call in advance to schedule an annual check up and extend my Levothyroxine prescription for another year, order scans if needed, taking a great care of me. They had not done it in the last two years, but it was easy to reach out the last time and get it done. This year, I realized I was left with four tablets and no refills on Friday. I called five times not being able to talk to a person, as I realized that Dr. Moore has retired. No one called to let me know that was the cased and I couldn't get another MD to extend my prescription at least for a month. The machine said "we will respond within 72 hours". They called me after 84 hours. I immediately switched to a different medical office. ADC in my opinion has become a monster that does not care about us patients and I would rather die than use their services ever again. read more

Two weeks of calls 5 attempts by pharmacy to refill a prescription. I have called every number listed and ultimately I end up with the same voice mail and yet no return call. The customer service for lack of a better term SUCKS! On my last visit there were at least 5 people siting behind the counter all on personal cell phones Not one picked up a phone call while I waited for my visit. Behind the scenes nursing staff in back were siting behind counter and not one was on phone. ADC absolutely needs Supervision. Yet when you ask for a supervisor or manager they send you to voicemail of the person that's not doing there JOB! read more

We stopped seeing the primary doctor there...we still go to dermatology..great department. During a virtual call with our primary doctor, my husband asked for a PSA test to see where he was. She refused saying he was too young and did not need. We insisted..finally my comment of "are you paying for this".? It is a box to check on the order. He got the test. Two weeks later, we receive a call from a nurse..not the doctor ...saying we are being referred to a specialist ..why I ask? Because he has cancer. THAT was how this was handled. Never heard from the doctor, no follow up.....no apology after I complained to management. We are now on round 4 of treatment. If we had not insisted...he would be dead now. Horrible. Another Dr could not understand why I was so sick. I had Covid....I ask for a catscan of lungs. I was told I did not need it, that the xrays showed nothing. I insisted...same question...are you paying? I got the X-ray...and again a nurse, not the dr called and said you have COVID pneumonia, there is nothing you can do. I ended up with damage to the lungs...ended up going to dr in Houston that did provide treatment. What the heck. These two examples are not minor........I will not got back...excetpt for Dermatalogy. Lesson...be your own advocate, if you think there is an issue...push, demand to be seen and taken seriously. read more

Complete incompetence. My wife has diabetes and so her dentist needed a clearance form from her doctor to perform dental work. First it takes the doctor a full 8 days to "fill" (I'll explain why I'm using quotes in a bit) the form. They claim to have faxed it to the dentist. A few weeks later, I go to the dentist for my scheduled appointment and ask about her form while I was at it. The dentist says they never got the form. Wow! How hard is it to do a simple fax? Either ADC 1) lied about faxing it, 2) faxed it to the wrong number, or 3) have broken fax machine and failed to fix it. These are the only possibilities I can think of. Like why can't the nurse or admin doing the faxing simply call the intended recipient to make sure they've received it? Do your due diligence! If you say you've got the delivery covered, I expect the deliver to be covered! So I'm like, "Fine, I'll just take the paper copy myself." I get a hardcopy from ADC and hand-deliver it to the dentist office. The dentist takes one look at it and says it's not complete, because the doctor only signed the form without filling out any of the evaluation. So I physically take the form back to ADC and have them fill it out again with the evaluation section. Then I hand deliver to the dentist again. And still not complete! The doctor checked the boxes in the eval section, but failed to even acknowledge my wife's diabetes, you know, the condition that necessitated the form in the first place. Bless the dentist, he has decided to take it upon himself to ask ADC directly. But Christ, it should not be this difficult to get a simple form delivered! Do not give ADC your money. They don't deserve it. You'll walk out more sick than when you came in! read more

Shame on Austin Diagnostic Clinic! I was hoping to make this clinic my primary care. BUT beware - the staff seems nice but there is a lot of incompetence from the office to the care staff regarding pricing and charges. I told my doctor that my insurance was ending and he recommended a Shingles shot and not to worry about the second shot (it takes two shots months apart). He said the shot was charged all up front, but just not to miss the second shot. Well, guess what? I got my second shot and they billed me $550. I explained that the doctor, Dr Alberto Ducharne, promised me concerning my anxiety that there would not be two charges, where the second shot would occur after I lost my insurance. I tried to work with the office staff for months. They called me back like once and insisted they don't go by what the doctor said and to pay up. No wonder this location has such a bad reputation. I rarely review. This American medicine thing has got to stop. I'm so disappointed in this place. Oh, and NEVER get your Shingles shot here, it is a sneaky $1200! This is the second time the staffs inability to get a simple prescription has negatively impacted my health. The original prescription was over $300 with insurance and the pharmacy requested a generic brand. They don't answer the phone or respond to emails from the patient or the pharmacy. This also happened with my Type 1 diabetic supplied which resulted in having to take multiple shots a day. Incompetence abounds. read more

The doctor I met was lovely, but the admin and client services are horrendous. You can never talk to anyone on the phone. After pressing about a hundred numbers on their hold system, you're often hung up on and left to do the rigamarole again. I left countless messages about an urgent medication issue and never received a single call back. When I was finally able to reach a human at the the front desk, and told them that I needed relatively urgent (but non-emergency) help, they told me they could get me an appointment in four months. It's an awful patient experience and I've been left scrambling to find another provider, because it is impossible to get the care I need there. read more

Austin Diagnostic clinic has hit a new low. The doctors I have used there for 22 years are excellent but the administration is incompetent, in the dark ages or just doesn't care about the patient.. The phones have excruciatingly long hold times and the portal is useless. The latest changes on the portal were made unusable. This has been going on too long. I know the reviews for this place are really bad, but, as a nurse myself, I simply cannot leave a poor review for this place. The only thing I can actually complain about, would be the reception desk. The receptionist was extremely slow, and the line was just getting longer and longer. They did get a new computer system apparently, which I will attribute some of her slowness to this, but not all. I overheard some people getting upset over waiting for 5 minutes, which come on, waiting is going to happen!!! Every patient is so different, that you can only hope they will fit perfectly in their allotted time, but this simply isn't the case! My provider saw me quickly, she was thorough, and her nurse was so apologetic. I sympathized with them and just the fear for the delay I saw in the nurse's face. I can never get through to the appointment line and when I asked them to call me back when they get to my place in line no one ever does. Greetings.. 1) This complaint applies to all ADC clinics.. 2) They went to a new portal which does not allow uploads from patients, preventing vital information such as daily vitals, updated Medication lists, etc. to be uploaded and givng the chance for the doctor adequate time to review... The days of 15 minute peruasl of medical history is over. In one case, such upload, saved me from taking conflicting and duplicative medications... 3) Other doctors outside of ADC have solved this problem by having a portal which handles uploads or by providing me an email address. 4) This information is only available in electronic format. 5) The doctors involved are Rehanna Becker and Sherwin Yen... They are bothe excellent physicians, handicapped by a srone age IT systems. Because of my medical issues, I have to search for other doctors, who have data upload capability.. Be forewarned.. You are entitled to a thoughtful and thorugh review of your medical info... Not a 2 minute cursory perusal.. 6) I have a HEPA waiver on record... Just avoid ADC...You have other options.. Regards A. If there was a lower rating, I would give it. My doctor is wonderful but clinic administration is some of the worst I have experienced. 45 minute + hold times to talk to someone. Even the on hold system is a run around: select for patient, select for clinic type, select for appointment, then on hold. 10 minutes later, live person asks what you're holding then back on hold again. Did I just start over?? This had happened 4 times on 4 different days. Tried the suggested call back. No luck. Tried suggested online appointment. No luck. I've even left a detailed message for practice manager. I guess I should get the message you're sending that you want fewer patients. I will be sure to tell everyone I know to avoid ADC. This is for the location at St. David's North Medical Center, third floor, Women's Imaging Center. Went to get a mammogram and ultrasound for pain I was having. Asked the nurse, the radiologist, and the front desk for the insurance code that would be sent to my insurance. They gave me the same code. Twice. I checked with the insurance. Twice. They all said it was 100% covered. Twice. Then a month later I started getting bills, that added up to (so far) $400. Turns out a different code was submitted to the insurance company, but not given to me (if I had had the correct code, I would have never done the imagining). If a business gives you incorrect information, or food, or product, they will take responsibility and foot the bill, exchange the product, try to make you happy. Health care providers? They don't give a happy hell if they did anything wrong. Pay your bill and don't ask questions. Not our problem. Our health care system in the US sucks. And ADC is just one of the incompetent places who doesn't take responsibility for their own mistakes. read more

When I just wanted to confirm an appointment, I was redirected to a LECTURE message on how good ADC is!!! Really? The doctors are ok. I went to ADC for an annual skin check. I thought I was being a responsible person taking advantage of the skin check that my insurance 100% covers annually (it's preventative care so no copay or anything). The wait was fine, the doctor was good, but then I received a bill because they said my insurance doesn't cover it. I called my insurer and they said that ADC did not code it as preventative. WTF!?!?! How many times did I say, "my insurance covers one free preventative skin check per year?" The doctor even asked where I worked because she thought that it was very cool that they covered preventative care and good of me to take advantage of it. I called there billing thinking it might be a mistake that they could easily correct. They turned my petition in for review and the coding was not changed. So $100 later, this is why the medical system is messed up. Jerks like this are the reason why people don't take care of themselves before it becomes a major medical issue. read more

So frustrating! Have had a stomach ache for a few days and decided to make an appointment with Dr. Liebermann. I understand that gastroenterologists are crazy busy, and I know there was probably a slim to nothing chance of getting in, but they usually at least offer to set you up with another doctor or a PA to make sure you're ok. Here's the appointment conversation: Me: Hi, I'd like to make an appointment with Dr. Liebermann. I'm a new patient, but I'm hoping there's an opporutnity to squeeze in tomorrow or Friday. ADC: Oh well if you're a new patient, he won't be able to see you until May. Me: Are there any other doctors that can see me sooner? ADC: The next availability would be April. Me: April? It's April 8 today. ADC: I said April 30. Me: I've had a stomach ache. Is there anyone I can see in the next 48 hrs that can help me? ADC: NO. You can see Dr. Lierbermann on May 18. Or you can always go to the ER. I took down the name of the customer service rep, but decided not to post online to follow the golden rule. Lesson learned. Don't call Austin Diagnostic unless you have at least a month to wait even if you're in pain. If I actually see Dr. Liebermann and he turns out to be a good doc then I'll update my review as it's only fair, but for now 1 star for lack of empathy. read more

I went here for a while but finally got fed up with them. The primary care physicians are primarily interested in referring you to the clinic's specialists. When I switched from a longtime primary care physician who retired after dealing with all of my medical issues for years I came here. By the end of the first visit I had been referred to four specialists. I agree that specialists are great, but I don't want a knee jerk referral to go to one until I at least get back the lab results that will supposedly indicate the need for a one. I have good insurance and I feel that they tried to milk it for all its worth. They don't like it if you go to a specialist outside of their clinic. That is questionable to me. read more

I have been trying to get a refill on a prescription I have been taking for years for a week now. Walgreens gets in touch with the doctor's office daily. I call, and call, and call. Get no one answering. I leave messages. Still no response. They don't provide any way to speak to the clinic manager or anyone else in charge. I am resorting to this because I can get NO ONE's attention at this clinic. It is the week between Christmas and New Years but what the hell???!!!! I am sitting at my desk working right now. Is everyone off? Are they closed except for the front desk? No way to know. Just got the triage nurse who is trying to look into it. They sent it yesterday to the wrong doctor. She corrected it and hopefully it will get approved today. I am seriously considering pulling my entire family out of this practice and moving to another one. Oh, by the way, this is a prescription that you are not supposed to stop taking. My doctor promised me on November 4th when I had my annual with her that she would RENEW ALL OF MY PRESCRIPTIONS!!!!!!!!! Wow, was I naïve, I really believed she would do that! Now I am worried about all of my other medications that were supposed to be renewed at that time, but likely weren't! I am tired of hearing that it is because of COVID!!! I've worked every single day in my office since the start of COVID and we provide services daily to children and families.
