However, I believe my concern goes far beyond the policy itself. It is about fairness, empathy, and the overall patient experience. Patients are routinely expected to be understanding when physicians run behind schedule. On several occasions at this office, I have checked in on time only to wait anywhere from 90 minutes to two hours before being seen. Patients accept those delays because we recognize that emergencies happen and physicians sometimes fall behind. Why doesn't that same understanding extend to patients? On the morning of my appointment, I left home well in advance. I encountered severe thunderstorms, road closures, traffic diversions, and multiple accidents. After arriving at your parking lot, I spent more than 10 minutes driving around simply trying to find an available parking space. Had adequate parking been available, I would almost certainly have checked in within your stated grace period. Does the practice take situations such as severe weather, inadequate parking, and circumstances beyond a patient's control into consideration before cancelling an appointment that took six months to obtain? My greatest disappointment was not that I was asked to reschedule. It was the attitude of the front desk employee. There was no empathy, no willingness to listen, and no attempt to contact Dr. Zikusoka's clinical staff to determine whether I could still be accommodated. On previous visits, I have personally witnessed staff make those calls for other patients. Healthcare should be patient-centered from the moment a patient walks through the front door. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I continue to have the highest regard for Dr. Michelle Zikusoka. She is an outstanding cardiologist whose professionalism, compassion, and dedication are beyond question. My criticism remains directed solely at the front office staff and the way this situation was handled. I sincerely hope Austin Heart will consider applying the same patience, flexibility, and understanding to its patients that patients are expected to extend when the practice is running behind schedule.

She is thorough and proactive with her healthcare approach. She also stays current on the healthcare industry to ensure you get the best care and most current protocols based on ethnicity where relevant. This sets her FAR apart from other physicians in the area. I would drive a million miles to see Dr. Supkay. Setting up appts, request of refills, insurance is all an ease due to the excellent attentional to detail & communication. They also have an amazing patient portal which makes communication with Dr Supkay & her nurse very easy. You can also make refill requests & get lab results from the portal. I absolutely LOVE that Dr Supkay does NOT keep your lab results hostage. As soon as CPL completes them, Dr Supkay allows us to see them. And she follows up to discuss of course. The convenience of CPL being located on site makes any follow up labs easy breezy. Highly recommend Dr Supkay as part of your medical care team!!! She was direct, knowledgeable, and was able to provide a correct diagnosis from what I thought coming in. It was late at night so she rushed in a script so I was able to collect it before CVS closed and so I could get the first restful night sleep without pain that I have had in a very long time. I am so grateful for CareNow Urgent Care. This was a better experience than I have ever had at the ER and much much much LESS $!! Better healthcare at a lower cost, didn't think that was possible anymore. The follow up care instructions were very clear and even highlighted by the NP in the key parts. There was a problem with getting the pain medication but the PA/NP cleared the issue up right away. Have labs and a f/u appt scheduled in Feb and March with Dr. Shah. Very pleased.

When I politely entered and asked for assistance, I quickly got the finger and absolutely no eye contact or acknowledgment for about 15 minutes. When an actual nurse approached, I asked her if she could accommodate in which the receptionist interjected and grabbed the device. I couldn't even get a complete sentence out without the receptionist, cutting me off and not letting me speak so I could have properly expressed my concern for my mother's treatment. When it comes to something that would literally save her life I would've hoped that at least one employee would seriously listen to me instead of downright dismissing my concerns.
