I have never had staff treat me so well and so kindly from the time we entered the door to the outpatient surgical clinic until we left. This review's rating is solely about the billing practices at St David's. The only truly negative, and frankly completely unacceptable, part of my experience has been the St. David's billing department. It is atrocious. I would rate it 0/5 stars and strongly advise anyone to avoid St. David's unless they have absolutely no alternative solely for the billing experience and absolute nightmare that results after your procedure. This is despite the completely excellent surgical staff, nurses, etc., plus my amazing OB/GYN and his team. For the level of care and expertise of the staff, again, EXCELLENT. We were required to pay $900 upfront, yet we have since received at least three additional bills--each one different, each one increasing the total cost to almost double the original amount. The billing team also is very sketchy about requiring this $900 upfront - they claim they won't intake you AT ALL unless you pay for your surgery ahead of time. The bills don't even look like they're from the same organization: different paper, different formatting, and even different account numbers. When we call the surgical center to verify whether these bills are legitimate, the billing staff can't provide answers. They can't explain the charges, they hesitate to provide itemized statements, and they seem completely unaware of why multiple bills are being issued. It is infuriating and exhausting, especially for someone recovering from a fertility-related procedure. Our healthcare system is broken, and St. David's billing department exemplifies that failure. Considering my surgery went exactly as planned, there is absolutely no reason we should have received anything beyond the original bill. This process has been a nightmare, and no patient should have to deal with this.

The extremely rude, unprofessional, jerk of a human at the front office named Brittney was also upset that I wouldn't stay and even tried to remove me as a driver. Listen, if you have a life, this hospital will try and micromanage you. If you can't take off work, they try to make you feel bad or even cancel the surgery. Brittney and Nate are horrible people and I can promise you, there are better surgery centers with more understanding people who do not try to micromanage your life...they only focus on doing their jobs.

That being said I've seen plenty of physicians and Dr. Lambeth is by far the best yet. Being relatively young and suffering from chronic pain means most doctors want to simply refer me to a pain management clinic or give me all kinds of drugs that don't work. He isn't one of those doctors. He is extremely knowledgeable and acutally listens to you. I've never felt rushed or like I am just a number like I have in the past. His bedside manner is phenomenal and I will remain his patient for as long as he is practicing medicine. His office recently stopped accepting Aetna (my insurance provider) and I'd rather pay the cash price any day than have find another doctor. Fortunately for me my employer changed our insurance company so I don't have to worry about it anymore but even if they hadn't I am here to stay. Nice try but you can't get rid of me that easy Dr. Lambeth! :) All I have to say is Kudos to you Dr. Lambeth for making me feel like I actually have someone in my corner when it comes to my medical care. The place is new, super clean and they are taking covid 19 seriously, which made me very happy. Everyone single person from the receptionist to the doctor were beyond great! Very professional, super nice and most importantly top notch at what they do. I'm a nurse so I notice these things and these guys did not miss a beat. They made me so comfortable, Dr Sill explained procedure and did a great job. Amy the nurse was wonderful and so was the paramedic Lance. I felt so safe and taken care of. When we were there, the waiting room was on the same level as the parking lot. I was very impressed with everyone we met, from the nurses to the doctors. Communication was excellent. Text messages were used to keep me informed of my family member's status. Everything seemed to be efficiently run. The only suggestion I have is that the area near the windows in the waiting room be cleaned of dead bugs.
