They fixed me!!! I was in so much lower back pain I couldn't walk 20 steps without dropping to my knees. I had to do something. I made 2 appointments. 1 with an orthopedic surgeon and 1 with Bart Patzer at Austin Life Chiropractic. After looking at my x-rays, the surgeon said, 1st we will try physical therapy, then steroid shots into my L4-L5 and then surgery. He was sure I needed surgery. The next day I took my x-rays to Austin Life and had Dr. Patzer take a look. They did their own x-rays and analysis of me. This is the most professional staff. After the initial consultation, they gave me my first adjustment. The pain went away for about 3 days and then it came back. I returned for my second adjustment and it lasted a week, then the pain came back. This went on for a couple of weeks. Dr. Patzer and Jonathan asked if I was open to a different treatment. I said YES, anything to avoid surgery and pain. I did a consultation for the Genesis back and neck. (89% success rate) Doesn't hurt at all. You just lay on a stretching table and the machine does the rest. The first session is a short demo of 8 minutes. I didn't really feel a difference. The next time was 16 minutes and immediately the pain was gone when I was done. It barely came back after about a week. After the 2nd session I never had pain again. I signed up for the program of 24 sessions. I have now been pain free for over 5 months and still have 2 more sessions. I don't think I need them, but I am going to finish the series so the pain never comes back. No pain and no cutting by a surgeon. MG read more

The staff is always so friendly, personable, gentle, and never leave you questioning. I love that they explain what they're doing and why. It helps you feel included in your own care and they will address any concerns you have when you bring them up. I had little knowledge of chiropractic medicine and enjoyed the orientation and knowledge drops during sessions. It is truly so fascinating how interconnected everything in our body is and how misalignment of one area can affect so many others! Reminders are sent the day before your appointments so you don't forget and they are great about rescheduling if something comes up (or, like me, you still managed to forget...). I don't have a good reference for pricing for chiropractic offices, but felt this was worth it and affordable. Adjustments take about 10-15 mins or less. I am a reserved person and liked that I didn't feel pressured to make small talk to fill the void or felt awkward at any moment. They intuitively respected my boundaries. It was very refreshing to feel calm and taken care of. TL;DR: my health and posture have improved, the staff is personable and informative - highly recommend! I had a weird experience here with some red flags. During my first visit as I was going through their diagnostic process, several times it was brought up that good posture is more attractive, and they took these photos to try and show me that my posture was not good. Maybe this is fair, but to me it seemed this process was extremely confronting and designed to play on emotions. Next, I was being asked questions about injuries I may have had in the past. I said I hadn't had any serious injuries, but they pressed me to think of something, anything. I said I remembered falling from my bike and scraping my knee when I was 5. They took this story, and it became the reason for my bad posture with absolutely no evidence. It was like they were trying to feed me something I could tell myself and other people. So I get brought into an office room with a window looking out into their very elegant looking facility, and I'm handed the documents to sign up for a treatment plan of $3000. I tell them I want to get a second opinion from somewhere else before I commit, and they seemed put off, but said they'd call me in a few days. They didn't. read more

ALC is amazing! I had a cervical fusion 20 years ago after a car accident, and was starting to have symptoms from adjacent disc compression. Within a few weeks of regular upper cervical adjustments at ALC, the tingling in my arms was greatly reduced.
