In September, I hired them to tack shingles down on my roof. There was poor communication about when the work would be done. When the agreed upon day came, they did not show up. I called and emailed to confirm and Claudio said that the guys would be there at 9. It was already 10:30am at that point. I had to go to work and clearly requested via email that they not complete any work unless I was at home- I did not receive a response to this email and called to follow up. After hours of no communication, I was told that they would come another day. I was already frustrated at this point, but needed the work done. Finally, the day came and when Claudio showed up, he was by himself. I asked if he was going to complete the work by himself because the roof is pretty large. He told me that the guys had already come to do it on the first day (where I had to contact them and was told they'd be there at 9am). He was there for my payment. He insisted they came that day, but it isn't true. I was there myself and I think I would've known if someone was on my roof. Furthermore, even when I left to go to work, I have cameras on every side of the house. I was watching the surveillance and no one showed up. I paid him, because I don't believe in cheating people out of earned money, but after my insurance company came back to inspect them roof, it is clear that no work was done. Or was not done to completion (if I'm being generous). Stay away from this company. I've contacted them to have them come back and finish (or start) the work and have been met with voicemails and unanswered emails. I will be contacting the BBB, because this is unacceptable.

4 years ago my wife and I bought the fixer-upper of fixer-uppers. So much needed to be redone that…read morewe decided to gut the whole place, room by room... while living there... with two kids. So that's been fun. Fast forward to this past fall, where we finally decided to tackle the (frankly, horrifying) first floor; kitchen, living room, dining room, laundry room and adding a desperately needed powder room. Given that our second floor and attic had already been redone, you could say I've been around the ol' contractor block. We've had some good and some bad, but no one I trusted to do the entire job. As my wife and I were figuring out what we wanted, and could realistically afford to do, my neighbor invited us over to see her newly renovated basement. This was previously a raw space that was now pristine. It looked like new construction in a 100+ year old house. And our neighbor had only the best things to say about her contractor, Joe. We eventually setup a meeting with Joe and he really goes the extra mile from the jump. He and his wife Karin are wonderful, down to earth people who didn't seem bothered by the toddler chaos going on all around us while we spoke. They even took us around to see past jobs of similar scope. Endlessly helpful. When we decided to move forward, cost was obviously a factor. Joe was honest, transparent, and willing to work with us to stay within our budget. Once the job started, it went as smoothly as one could hope. Joe's crew are a great bunch of guys. I won't lie and say that not having a kitchen for 10 weeks with 2 young kids is fun stuff, but they made it as painless as possible. The workspace was always clean and we had a path to our fridge. And they took the time to do things right -- leveling out ceiling beams that could have passed as a template for a skateboard before putting up sheetrock. Joe called regularly with status updates, and to hash out any unclear requirements. He'a got a great eye for design -- making a number of suggestions we were thrilled with -- from room layouts, down to details like a barn door for our laundry room. He suggested cabinets that I had reservations about at first, but ended up loving. He and Karin even came with us to pick out countertops and appliances. Above and beyond. To wrap it up, finding a good contractor is hard and we found a GREAT one, so I was almost hesitate to write this. I don't want y'all booking him up until 2022! I've got a couple more jobs to do!

He was extremely responsive and always took the time to answer my questions and address any concerns I had. His team was efficient, professional, and completed the project two days ahead of schedule. They also went above and beyond by helping me with a few minor repairs and touch-ups that were not necessarily related to the painting project. I was especially impressed with the crew's respect for both my apartment and the building property. They were courteous and considerate throughout the project and made sure to leave my apartment clean when the work was completed. Beware! This guy started off okay. It was for a roof replacement over an addition and a skylight…read morereplacement. All seemed fine and well until it rained and I noticed water getting in worse than before. When I checked, I saw that in order to make something fit, they trimmed the skylight, which cut the built-in flashing. They tried to repair it with SILICONE! I could see daylight from below. They denied it. This attempt at cutting corners left a jagged cut on the inside of my house, which the owner eventually came out and repaired himself extremely poorly. He used big nails for finish trim, and a few nails didn't go in, so he just hammered them in sideways and left them showing. He also did not cut the angles correctly and used a load of caulk to hide the disaster. After some convincing, they came out and remedied the skylight issue. However, after spotting yet another leak, and contacting him and asking nicely, he refuses to answer. It's been leaking for quite some time because I see the stained and moldy wood underneath. I've tried contacting him through email, through thumbtack and his cell. Do not do business with this company, I am very disappointed. I've given him almost a month to respond to any of these messages. I realize companies are busy, but when he needed a check from me, he answered within minutes. I even recommend him to friends and family before I noticed any issues. All it would take would be a simple visit and a patch job. He gave me a "15 year warranty" on the work. But they'd rather ignore me. Paid online. Will be contacting the bank to get my money back! I don't know how he gets 5 star reviews, because this was mediocrity at its best.
