I call every time Bill, the owner is an outstanding human being and he's really good at his job. We reached out to Austin Overhead Door Company late on a Friday afternoon due to a commercial door that would not close. Given that leaving this door open until Monday (normal business hours) was not an option for security reasons, it was critical that we at least get the door to close before we went home. Austin Overhead was actually the 3rd overhead door company we reached out to, and the first that actually lived up to the "24/7 emergency response" claim (the other 2 stated that Monday was the earliest they could come out). I spoke to Bill who assured me he would have someone out that evening to take a look, and not only did they come out as promised, Thomas and Simon actually arrived within about 20 minutes! Next came the challenge of the door itself. Without going into all the steps they needed to close this day, I will simply say that Thomas really knew what he was doing, and he and Simon were able to get the door closed after much diligence, a bit of hard work, and even a few acrobatics! The door was closed and we were able to go home... but it did not end there! Additional repairs were needed that we agreed could wait until Monday when Thomas would have access to more equipment and it would be easier to see what the root cause of the issue was. While Monday was not an option due to a thunderstorm, Thomas was still excellent about communicating with us, and rescheduling for the next day. Thomas came out promptly on Tuesday and was able to fix the door completely at no additional cost! Overall, I want to recognize this company (and Thomas in particular) for their responsiveness, their effectiveness, and their communication. Austin Overhead Door Company was a LIFE SAVER!! I unfortunately hit our garage door as I was backing in and messed up the lower panel pretty bad. Austin Overhead Door Company was super responsive and were at my home within an hour to repair the door. Both gentlemen who came out were kind and had it repaired quickly. I've been working with Bill and Thomas since early 2023 and we finally finished converting my garage to a high-clearance door with a jackshaft opener. We ran into a slight hiccup with the installation but Bill and Thomas got it done in the end and I am a very satisfied customer. Austin Overhead Door Company installed our LiftMaster Elite with WIFI and Battery backup in February of 2017. I was skeptical on whether I would really need WIFI for a garage door opener. Well I was sooo wrong. The LiftMaster App is awesome. I can open the door remotely from anywhere. We never have to worry about going on a trip and wondering if we close the garage door. I just open the app and check. Austin Overhead Door Company came out today to look at the keypad in the garage. It started having power issues out of the blue. Well they came out, I opened garage remotely (no need to give them PIN for outdoor keypad) and Bill went in and fixed the item. No charge, warranty covered the fix of a broken wire. Austin Overhead Door Company does a GREAT job again! They put their customers first and are the real professionals in the garage door market! read more

I called this company for a garage door that was shaking and Bill answered onn the first call. He told me he would come out ASAP but he was on vacation at the moment. The fact that he answered and took my call on his vacation spoke volumes for me so I had high hopes his great yelp reviews were reputable. The absolute WORST service as well as customer service I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. Bill Larvin (the owner) does not care about his customers AT ALL. This goes for his employees as well. I mean if the boss couldn't care less than why should his employees, right? Bill is very unprofessional and will literally laugh At You and attempt to belittle you while you point out issues with the service he and his crew provide even after you provide photo proof. I unfortunately had an entire new garage door put in by this company... the guy had to come out Four times because the door wasn't leveled, the lock was never applied and he just couldn't get the door to close entirely. Now fast forward a year later and that same lock that was originally forgotten has now damaged my brand new door and the tracks because it was never put on properly. He applied the lock too close to the track. So of course I unfortunately had to reach back out to Bill and again deal with his arrogant attitude after explaining and offering picture proof of this not being of any fault of my own. His employee was arguing with me telling me it was going to cost $190. After having to explain to Bill that I never once locked the door, etc offered photo proof of the latch hanging past the lock (as it shouldn't), of course he called me a liar multiple times.. made multiple unnecessary comments like, "so you never park your car in the garage?" with his usual condescending sarcastic attitude. Finally after he felt he got to say every patronizing thing he could think of to say, and after I mentioned taking this concern to court, he decided to have his employee fix the error he knew was their fault to begin with. All that arguing and unprofessional behavior for a 5 minute job is ridiculous to say the least. All I have to say is BUYERS BEWARE! Wish I looked elsewhere! read more

I screwed up my garage door this morning and couldn't get it back on track and closed. Unfortunately, my garage backs up to an alley and a pocket park which means it was open for anyone to walk into without notice. When I realized I couldn't fix it I googled garage door repair and Austin Overhead came up first on the list. I had no idea if they were any good or dependable, but had to get the garage fixed pronto. I called and Bill (who I later discovered was the owner) answered and I told him I needed it fixed pretty quickly if at all possible. Bill called me back 10 minutes later and had Julio out within 30 minutes. Julio was great, got the garage fixed and I was amazed at how easy, quick, and seamless the whole process was. Person name Danty came in and fixed a simple issue to put displaced couple of rollers in the track in 15min and charged $150. That is the minimum charge but they never told me on the phone. One of the torsion springs snapped on my garage door and two of the chains were sagging. When trying to adjust one of the chains the sprocket shaft snapped. I attempted to replace the torsion spring myself and was somewhat successful but I decided to cry uncle and call in a professional. I called Austin Overhead Door because of the Yelp reviews, and I was not disappointed. Bill came out and gave me a free quote, then showed up a couple days later with parts and helper. Within 45 minutes, they had replaced two torsion springs, two sprocket assemblies, and adjusted and balanced the doors. Saved me hours of work at a reasonable price. Well worth it. Total professionals from start to finish, and now my garage doors are working great. read more

I had one of the springs on my garage door break this week. I called Bill at Austin Overhead Door Company and he came over that day to assess what I would need. The very next day, Ron came out with two new springs and installed them without a hitch. He noted that when I had my garage doors installed years ago, they did not put safety cables on the springs. I had two special order garage doors installed this time. They are a special / custom order due to their design / style and material construction. I was given multiple options and I was able to get exactly what I wanted. These are upgraded high end doors. These new doors cut down on the heat in the garage significantly and they look gorgeous. They completely match the design of the exterior to the home. They never look dirty / dusty like the ones that came with the home and the build quality is a million times better. The cost was very reasonable given the special order and the installation. New tracks / rollers were installed and the fit / finish is amazing. In fact no light shows through on the sides / top of the door like the ones I replaced. With the lights off in the garage during daylight the garage is pitch black. Yes they are installed that well. I have had this company install 3 doors and a belt drive door opener in two separate homes over the last few years. Highly recommended! read more
