Refused to honor or help…read morewith warranty work on a shop door opener that we bought from them and that they installed and is still under warranty. Last month, our garage door opener went out. We called Absolute Garage door company and they responded quickly and sent a technician. Unfortunately, that's where our positive experience ended. The technician arrived that afternoon. My wife and I were with him during the service call the entire time. He accessed the opener by using our ladder, pressed a few buttons, unplugged it, plugged it back in, and concluded that opener wasn't working- which we already knew. He asked if we had a power failure, and we told him no. We told him that the motor is only about 3 yrs old and has a 5 yr warranty. He assured us that his company was very good about getting warranty claims approved and would do the necessary steps. He also said he would probably be back the following day to install a new one. The entire service visit lasted about 5 minutes. Instead of receiving a call about the warranty replacement, we received a text with a quote for a new unit. We immediately contacted the company and asked why our warranty wasn't honored. Cynthia told us, that the motor failed because of a power surge, which is not covered. We disagreed because we had no power failure. We also pointed out that the tech never checked the circuit breaker or the fuses on the motor itself and how could he come to that conclusion by not checking those items. Cynthia said she would speak to the tech again to see if there was a misunderstanding and promised to call us back. We never received a call back and after waiting a few hrs and calling her, she never returned any of my calls or texts. In the meantime we contacted the manufacturer directly and they had us check 2 fuses and even sent us photos of the location of the fuses ( fuses were fine). The support team was extremely helpful and we started the claim process with them. The following morning our calls and texts to absolute garage door company went still unanswered until we called from a different phone line. She still insisted that we had a power failure even when I said I would get a letter from my electric company saying that we didn't. She did not change her position. We informed her regarding the fuses that the manufacturer had us check, and she didn't even know that there were 2 fuses in the opener. At this point we realized that we would not get any help from Absolute Garage Door Company and we concluded our call. We went straight through the manufacturer with our claim and about 10 days later we received a new motherboard ( free of charge) from the manufacturer and I installed it myself and had the door opening again in less than 30 minutes. The manufacturer provided excellent service while Absolute Garage Door Company failed us at every level. I definitely DO NOT recommend this company!

It was likely an internal spring that had likely broken and needed replacement. I was afraid there would be an extra charge for a Sunday repair, but Chris so nope. So, I decided to move forward with getting the issue handled. Chris needed to address a current customer and then could be at my place around 1pm. As he was on his way, he texted me with an ETA, which was nice. Once at my place, he confirmed the issue and recommended at Torsion Spring Conversion. He confirmed the price, which was very reasonable, and he got right to work. Within an hour the old broken spring shaft was replaced with the new torsion spring rated for 25,000 cycles. Not only did he fix the issue, he also took the time to inspect the door and lubed the wheels and hinges before leaving. Now I am back in business with a working garage door. I chose The Up and Up Garage Doors company because it was relatively close to where I live (I learned pretty quickly that some companies don't serve my area, so I wanted to make sure I wouldn't be disappointed if they didn't served my area). The company had a decent number of reviewers, which I feel makes the 5 star reviews seem legit. Surprisingly, I was able to book a consultation the same day. Neil was able to diagnose the problem relatively quickly and explained the parts that I would definitely need (like a new receiver), parts that I would not need (like the spring) and parts that would be nice to have (like the rolling wheels along the rail). He was very transparent about the price of the parts and labor as well as time it would take to pick up the parts and complete the job. TBH, the garage door system he recommended seemed gimmicky, but I decided to go with it anyway because he had me at " it's one of the quietest systems." He was able to install the very same day and was very patient helping me set up the remote garage door openers and iPhone app, which turns out has a feature that floored me, which was basically the ability to check if my garage door was closed or not after I left! The amount of time I imagined I would save by not having to turn the car around to double check is priceless! The overall time it took from looking at the company, setting up an appointment, Neil having to pick up the system from the company, drive back and install was literally less than three hours. I also thought the price was very reasonable for having such a quality product and super awesome experience.
