I've been visiting this location for ~5 years. Really large clinic, clean, and full facility (bonus: ARA right next door for all imagining needs). Front desk and scheduling staff are always pleasant and helpful. After a decade and a half in west ATX, I finallllly found a fabulous internist (who serves as my PCP; Dr. SC) at ARC-FP. Yay! Very patient, thorough, takes his time, kind, compassionate...fantastic "bed side manner" and care. Everything you want in a doctor...but, sadly not without some...mmm...negatives. I guess a lot of other people also like Dr. C as much because he's always booked out far. Three plus months in advance to even schedule an annual exam. Eee. And expect to wait a while to be seen after your appointment time (they have comp Wifi; signal can be poor inside building). I think feeling like I'm in great hands is worth a little sacrifice, especially after such a long journey to find somebody I really, really like. Luckily, I found another PCP at a different ARC location (Bee Cave; see review) who usually has same week appointments available when I need to see someone faster (e.g., order labs, GI flareup, respitory infection, etc.). I also found my wonderful rheumatologist at ARC-FP. Dr. K hits all the marks as well. Very kind and so knowledgeable. He quickly Dx a longtime issue I had been suffering with, and continues to assist me on my journey to gain mobility and PRAY someday be pain free. I really appreciate everybody at Austin Regional Clinic Four Points. They are always very busy so some patience is required; however, they still manage to make me feel important and truly cared about. I'll take is as a W. :D read more

I was a new patient to ARC. I took the time to fill out all the medical and family history ahead of time, as requested. I arrived for my 11:00 appointment 15 minutes early, as requested. At 10:45 in the morning, Dr. Zook was already 30 minutes behind, which in clinic-speak is at least 45 minutes. (Another doctor was already one hour behind.) The staff at the front desk made it clear that delays with Dr. Zook are routine--which I interpret to mean my time is not important to Dr. Zook. My money is. I left and called ARC's administrative office to complain. They sifted me through phone tree after phone tree and numerous receptionists who just sent me to somebody's voice mail. There was no difference between calling ARC and trying to get an internet and cable technician on the line. ARC's model is exactly the same. We all know this is the prevailing attitude of the medical industry: we are customers, not patients. We have money, not illnesses. Read the other reviews, and you will see: ARC is just another corporation, not a clinic. Because I was not sick or in pain, I did not have to submit to coercive corporate tactics: I need a doctor eventually, but not necessarily today. I try to push back on ARC's kind of cynicism in whatever small way I can, so I refused to reschedule. Reschedule for what--another doctor who tells all of his customer-patients to get to the clinic early so they can sit there and wait while he drags along, wasting our time? Went for a scheduled and confirmed flu shot. They saw 5 people before me. I questioned the front desk after 15 minutes. She said they'd be right with me. They saw 5 more people and I asked again. Nurse said it wasn't my time yet - she clearly skipped my name and they did nothing to rectify the situation. I had to leave because I had another appointment. A flu shot appointment should not be more than the 15 minutes scheduled time. 45 minutes later and no flu shot. Horrible customer service. read more

It takes months to see my doctor, the online messaging is extremely inefficient, I had to use urgent care for any and all my needs in the last three years despite having "my" doctor at ARC. Last week I was trying to get a refill and it took 3 days of constant calls and waiting on the phone for 15-20 minutes at a time to always be told "your prescription will be sent to your pharmacy" but didn't. read more

I met with Dr.Hon, who is great. But the hospital's system is horrible. The website is broken and I cannot reply to Dr's message. If I call the clinic, the wait is 30 minutes. This is not our usual ARC that we go to, but because we've signed our baby up for clinical studies related to a new meningitis vaccine to market, and formulas, has been a place we've popped in now after our wellness visits at our typical ARC with his pediatrician. We love the staff, the doctors and all the folks we've been able to interact with. We feel informed and always respected of our decisions as we are in the safe hands of their care. The nurses I've chatted with are so friendly, even when my baby is dreading his shots. The respect and the bedside manners in treating our little one and checking in has been so wonderful and I am glad, all ARC services are consistent and through no matter the location we go. read more

I've given this location a try for both their pediatric and general physician services. This location is really convenient for me and just for that it gets a free star. It has everything on sight, including, lab and x-ray machines, and probably more although I haven't been privy to anything else through first hand experience. I have taken my 1 year old twins here with no complaints. I've also been here myself for X-rays after a recent car accident. Another star because the meds took the pain away! Being that my visits are general check ups not for poor health I haven't had sick test run, however the doctors have been friendly, on time, and engaging enough that I will recommend them to the rest of family. The only thing preventing a 5 star review is the employees at the front desk could be more engaging service is very bland and at times disinterested in greeting and welcoming you. Everyone else has been really helpful and that's why I will return. read more

I needed a yearly refill for my inhaler and epipen. Dr Zook was 35 minutes late. The appointment was a video call that last under 8 minutes. My insurance was billed $239 for "Doctor's office visit, long" & I'm being billed $156 now because my insurance only paid $83. Dr Zook repeatedly asked unrelated questions and initiated small talk which is totally fine unless I'm being billed extra for a "long" appointment. I've been prescribed epipens and inhalers for 20+ years and never have I ever paid $156 for a visit to get them filled. I feel like I'm being taken advantage of. BEWARE read more

As of 3/6/2018, no issues with billing for my physical or blood work. My insurance covered both completely. I know from other reviews there has been concerns with billing. Will provide an update if I run into any issues with billing in the future. read more

Doctors are great; however.... Their billing is absent all professional standards. Bureaucracy, red tape, data errors, no transparency and the worst.... very vindictive. If you want good health and do not mind a horrible credit rating... they will send your bill to the wrong address, call the wrong phone number, and then report "derogatory public record" 2 years later to the credit bureaus. read more

I am only commenting on my experience with Dr Vivian Frazier. I had been seeing her in cedar park and she had moved to this location which has added another 20 minutes to my drive. We contemplated switching primary care providers but I am so glad we did not. She is always very responsive via the portal in messaging but just so personable. You really feel that she cares and is vested in you and your care. I leave feeling like that dr has my back and cares. I never have to wait long. She always spends whatever time I need with me to discuss all my needs and does a thorough job evaluating me to get a complete picture. The greeter and receptionist at the front desk were my first impression and they were friendly, professional and careful about Covid, which relieved me. Dr. Zook got me all caught up after a long stretch of going without a check-up. He is very good at listening, understanding, explaining and taking action. His assistant, Stacy, is amazing! As one of the caregivers to my father-in-law I'm surrounded with complicated visits that usually result in me sitting a waiting and not being able to be with him during visits but ARC is one place where they include me in visits with the Dr. It was a simple form to complete, the young lady at reception was friendly and informative. She instructed me on what I needed to do and BAM! I am now able to sign into my ARC Chart and set appointents, refill Rx's, and see what my father in law needs to follow up with. I can even send emails to his Dr. if needed. ARC is a great clinic and Dr. Hon is simply the best with "Pop". I agree with Everett T., this is a solid organization! read more

I know it didn't get great reviews, but my experience at ARC was absolutely solid. I booked my appointment online, and they were actually calling me in to see the doctor roughly three minutes after I stepped in the door...I wasn't even finished checking in! The doctor was in to see me ten minutes after that! Even with blood work, I was in and out in exactly thirty minutes. I ain't mad at that. Most of the other Yelp complaints center around being billed for a wellness checkup/physical that they didn't order, but I was there for my physical, so my bill was accurate. Complaints? ARC is tucked a bit out of the way, and it can be tough to find. Also, the exam rooms seem cheaply built, it was pretty easy to hear conversations in the rooms next door. Uncommunicative and disrespectful. Which is disappointing, because I love my doctor. My issue lays with an ARC nurse or staff member I spoke with. I don't know who person was who I talked to on phone, but after I waited on hold for 20 minutes to talk to her, she was clearly trying to get rid of me within the first minute of our incredibly brief conversation - evading my direct questions about my medication ("could you please inform me if a refill has been called in because my pharmacy hasn't received anything"), and eventually hanging up on me, saying she would "pass on my concerns" (I never mentioned any concerns to pass on; I only had a couple simple questions). I was confused and frustrated, as I had of course been courteous, and was experiencing withdrawal from a medication that I heard nothing about for the remainder of the day. I completely understand delays for calling in prescriptions, but why not be transparent and polite on the phone, like many patients are when they call. read more

I saw Dr. Siegel and she is the first doctor out of 5 I've seen at other offices that hasn't made me feel like I'm an idiot or like I'm making up my symptoms. She diagnosed my problems quickly and I'm finally encouraged after 1 month of being in pain. I never give 5 stars, but even the receptionist and the lab worker were both engaging and helpful. I followed Dr. Frazier when she relocated. She has always taken great care of me and my daughter. I have been with Dr. Frazier for a long time and she has always been very attentive to my questions and worries. She took her time and listen to me patiently. I also have to give kudos to her nurses that always welcome me with a friendly smile. Although the site is pleasant and clean, and the staff is courteous, ultimately my child's X-ray was poorly executed. It was for scoliosis, and the technologist did not straighten my child's stance, thus the spine curvature was incorrectly viewed. This led to an error follow up appointment with a doctor. I think knowing the diagnosis, the tech should have been more diligent. read more

I will be finding a new primary care physician after my last experience. I have never received such poor care from a health organization. The person at the front desk, Meghan, should be fired for her lack of professionalism. I needed an appointment for an injury and not only did they keep me on hold forever, she kept misdirecting my call and I was never able to make an appointment, even after she said that I would get a call to make one (it has been 2 days). The nurse that I spoke to on the phone sounded like she had never heard of an injury before and kept telling me to go to the ER because my chest hurt (it hurt because of a rib injury, not a heart attack). Today, I called again to try to speak to someone and I was on hold for 23 minutes, at which point Liliana answered the phone and she either hung up or we got disconnected. No call-back, no nothing, just back on hold. Be aware that you are dealing with people who come to you because they're either sick, in pain, injured or just plain need care; ignoring people in need of care is cruel and you made an oath that you obviously care nothing about. Dr. Frazier, you may be a good doctor but your staff is terrible. read more

Over billing for office visit I have visited ARC on ...date as I was suffering from sinus infection. I was told that copays would be 20$, however I was appalled when I received the insurance bill that a surgery was performed and I owe an amount of 26$. During office visit I was never told about any other expense related to visit. This is highly objectionable to me as I cant afford this payment and if u had told me I would have opted out. It is not ethical to run medical services as business to fleece customers. read more

I really liked Dr. Hon in person, but sadly, she is part of a system that deliberately traps their patients into unasked-for services and then charges you for it and tries to make you feel stupid about falling into the trap they set for you. If that sounds extreme, just look at the other reviewers below, who had almost the exact same issue. I called to make an appt in May to discuss travel meds for a trip to Peru and some recent fatigue. The receptionist told me he would book me for a physical, because that sounded like what I needed. I told him I wanted just a regular appt, but he said that a physical would encompass all of the reasons I gave for my visit and he really thought it would be the best way to handle my needs. In hindsight, I should have said, "Nevermind, I'll find someone else..." At the appt, Dr. Hon asked why I was there and I told her about Peru and fatigue. I never said I wanted a physical. When I left my appt, I stopped by the front desk and was told that there was no copay, since it was a physical, however, I was later sent a bill in the mail for a regular appt, which I was happy to pay, since a regular appt is what I had requested in the first place and that is what I received. I tried to book my usual gyno annual when my regular yearly time rolled around and was told that I had already had one only a couple months ago. To be clear, I did NOT have a gyno annual procedure during my "travel meds and fatigue" appt and didn't even know Dr. Hon did gyno work until she mentioned it in my appt and told me to book one in the future (clearly, even she didn't think I was there for that, since she told me to book one when I reached the 1-yr mark since my last one). I called ARC to clear up what I thought was a mistake and a bored receptionist, who had clearly been through this before, told me that the second you mention anything outside of a regular physical, a regular appt is billed on top of the physical. I asked to speak to the clinic manager, Gwen, who to my surprise, backed up the receptionist. I specifically asked, "So when the doctor walks into a physical and asks you how you're doing, you MUST answer 'fine' or else you'll be billed?" and she said yes, nothing else is covered. RIDICULOUS! See below for more reviewers with that same experience with being double billed for their physicals/ regular appts. However, unlike those reviewers, this was beside the point for me. I never asked for a physical, nor was it explained that the "physical" the first receptionist said I needed for travel meds and fatigue would replace my gynecological annual, despite the fact that I didn't receive the care, discussions, or testing I would at an actual annual appt. Throughout our 28-minute call, Gwen never once apologized for how I was railroaded into something I specifically didn't want or ask for and she was dismissive throughout the call. Once she realized I really planned to follow this through and wasn't going to just get off her phone, she started to be passive aggressive and tried to make me feel stupid for agreeing to the appointment in the first place and for not actively protesting the annual in the middle of the appt, even though an actual gyno annual wasn't being done. In the end, she just said she couldn't do anything about it, because in her opinion, all the boxes for preventative care were checked during my appt according to the doc's notes (so infuriating... ladies, you know what an annual entails and that did NOT happen...), but that I could talk to billing if I wanted to, but that it would be weeks before they went through the process on their end and it could be weeks more from the insurance before I can even book my annual, assuming that everything even got approved and the billing were to be changed. However, she made her opinion of me and my position very clear: it's unlikely that the clinic would back up the dispute and she wanted me to feel like an idiot for expecting that a doc office would have integrity and for falling into this ridiculous trap. I disclosed up front why I wanted an appt, was scheduled for something else that was supposed to be free and that I still didn't receive, and then had to pay anyway. The most horrible thing is that even though I never actually got an annual with ARC, I now cannot have an actual annual with my gynecologist until August of 2018, unless I want to pay extra for it. Do NOT ever book a physical here and beware that they will deliberately try to turn your regular request into a physical so that they can double bill the insurance, regardless of where that leaves you in your health. read more

I went to ARC last June. There seemed to be an error in my billing. I have spoken to more than 10 people in their billing department plus a supervisor named samantha who provided absolutely no resolution at all. I received a different answer every time I called, notes weren't saved to my account, I received a statement from the lab that was used for my blood draw... all chaotic and an extremely unorganized way to run a business. BEWARE! It's been an absolute nightmare dealing with ARC and now I am just paying a 600.00 bill because NO ONE was trained well enough or cared enough to do right by the customer. I will never step foot into ARC again and I will share my experience with many. Truly disappointed and feel wronged by the service provided to me. read more

I have been in Austin for about 3 years and I have been to numerous doctors. Dr. Sean Coughlin is the best of the best. You can tell that he really cares about his patients. I've used various ARCs for years and never had much of an issue with them, pretty basic health care for when you're sick or having a simple issue. That said, recently visited the Wilson Parke location for an annual physical which was supposed to be fully covered by my insurance. Near the end of my check-up the doctor asked me if I had any questions and I asked about quitting smoking, we had about a 5 min conversation about it and that was it. Later I got a bill for a co-pay due for a second doctors visit I never had. After several calls with ARC and my insurance I was informed that the minute I asked my question it was no longer part of my physical and counted as an additional visit. At no point did my doctor ever suggest that asking questions about my health after my physical wasn't part of that service and if it wasn't it should have been clearly stated. The co-pays not high, thankfully, but it's the principle - this practice is unethical and essentially double-dipping at the expense of the patient and a blatant way to scam both the patient and insurance. Really amazing that they get away with it! UPDATE: Despite ARC's response, I need to make it very clear that this is not an issue with my insurance. This is an issue with being charged by ARC for two appointments that were actually one physically simply due to a 5min conversation about smoking. This is ARC's policy and there is no prior disclosure (plus it's ridiculous) that is the problem. read more

I came here for a preventative check up -- the annual check up that is covered by insurance. However, I received a bill from them for the same office visit. I called ARC billing and I was told that I discussed certain topics with the doctor that are outside the preventative check-up, hence the charge. Ridiculous! When the doctor asks you, "How are you feeling?" -- apparently, that question is a trap. Then when you complain to billing about this they tell you, "You signed a waiver, so you are bound to pay!". I love the fact that I can go to any location where it's most convenient. I love the doctors I have seen for myself as well as my daughter. I think the Wilson Parke location needs to do away with the self checkin. It's cumbersome. I'm there with my daughter trying to enter info, scan info, sign etc and there is a young lady not helping anyone who could have checked us in much more effiently than the machine. This is a brand new clinic-its been open for about a year. Very nice! The set up is a little strange though, not a typical doctors office. They were able to get me in the same day for an appointment but it took the doctor well over an hour to see me and when he came in, he was only there for about 5 minutes, tops. The nursing staff is really sweet but I'm not a fan of the doctors, I wouldn't recommend having any of these doctors as your primary care doctor, they are better for sick visits. Dr. Hon is good but the check-in machine kept spitting my cards on the floor after mis-scans, the place is a maze to navigate, and the doctor's assistant was rude and incompetent, kept mixing up my OTA and prescription meds list and asking the same questions over and over. Health care industry professionals need to be judged to a higher standard than what's prevalent today, as they seem to get away with behavior and performance levels that would be unacceptable in the corporate world. read more

I LOVE this ARC clinic. I've been to others but this surpasses them all. They are always able to get me in incredibly quickly, the front desk is always smiling, the self check in is very convenient if there ever is a line, the nurses are very knowledgeable, and Dr. Han is THE BEST. She's been my GP since I first found out I was pregnant and has seen me and eased my mind over every little worry I've had throughout my pregnancy, thus far. I also found out that she sees babies! So my husband and I will be bringing our daughter to her once she arrives this December. Looking forward to many more visits! read more

I went here for a suspected flare-up of X, and told the doctor I had a history of c. diff, so what did he prescribe me? An antibiotic notorious for causing c. diff! No thanks. Needless to say, I didn't pick up the rx. Furthermore, this idiot tested me for a UTI when I knew I didn't have one and that was not what I went in for! He pursued a line of questioning about UTIs even when I repeatedly answered no to all his questions, inferring that I didn't have a clue about my own health. Even after I informed him of my diagnosis of X disease in August, he apparently either didn't listen or completely ignored me, about either the c. diff or X or both. What a waste of time and co-pay.
