When you enter the shop located just off Palm valley in Hutto, if your can find a park in their densely occupied lot, you are immediately greeted at the service desk by Paul out one of the other associates. Honest, up front, and NO price gouging!!! We went in for a water pump, radiator hoses and coolant flush. He noticed that our serpentine belt was bad and thermostat rusted ('07 300c). My A/C went out in my 2015 F-250 Truck. I have been going to Austin Automotive for all service for my trucks now for the last several years. Paul gave me a quote back in June. It was an expensive repair that I had to wait to fix. Called last week to tell Paul I needed to fix the A/C and could he fit it into their schedule. Took the Jeep to his oil changed today. This location was hit hard with the sickness but were awesome when they called and said they had to reschedule. I was supposed to drop off at 10 but work schedules made me drop and leave him at 9am. With them recovering from the rona I assumed it would be late this afternoon before they even got to my vehicle. They got him in and out in an hour and a half!!! I cannot say enough great things about Paul and his crew!!! Edited to say: I have been taking my cars here for at least 10 years! Can I give a negative stars rating? I feel like I should be able to give a negative stars or at least zero stars. My wife took her Yukon to get an oil change, inspection and tire rotation last week. Today we returned from lunch in her car and as I get out I notice one of the lug nuts was loose. I check and not just one, and not just on one wheel. A total of seven lug nuts on three wheels were never tightened down. now, I'd love to paraphrase Ron White and make a joke that maybe harrison bittner, the tech, was absent on lugnut day or maybe his supervisor joe velasquez was never properly trained on how to supervise a technician to make sure every vehicle that leaves the shop is ready to go on the road, but no. I simply assume they don't care, as is the case with most places these days. Certainly if they do care they are incompetent. I could over look it possibly if it were one lug or on one wheel, but this is simply lack of effort which could have cause serious damage, injury or loss of life. Now I don't know about y'all, but I take my family's lives as my responsibility and austin automotive specialists will NEVER see one of my vehicles again! read more

I was simply trying to get some help with my car while I was traveling the guy helping me was very rude showed absolutely no customer service or sympathy for my situation. my girls and I just left. Went in for a oil change. I was very happy with the knowledge, and customer service. In and out quickly. This is not jiffy lube. So don't expect a 10 minute oil change. They actually inspect everything for you. I definitely recommend this business for all your automotive needs. Simple look at since my tire gauge has been popping on but it's good on air. Tried to call and got put on hold with no response. I was greeted by a true professional in the automotive industry, Paul. He asked what I was experiencing with my Audi, I told him about an abnormal tire wear pattern. No problem, we'll check it out. I waited for the alignment to be performed, the mechanic finished on the promised time. He took time to greet me as well. They provided me a printout explaining the before and after adjustments. Took my 65' GTO here for new shocks and springs and carb tune up (in the process or restoring it). The suspension was great but they couldn't get the original carb tuned so they threw a new carb on. Well they had trouble tuning that one as well. I rated them 4 stars even though they could get the carburetor fixed because they put a lot of effort into trying to get it tuned. Not many folks know how to tune carburetors so it would be difficult to hold this against them. The bottom line is that my GTO runs and rides better than it did before I took it there so I'm happy about that. The carb issue? Well,I'm still look for someone to help with that... read more

Nope not again. They could not fix my car. They threw new parts at it and made me feel they fixed it. Nope. I paid over 300 for a part that had nothing to do with the problem. Lied to me about it. I took it back for 1 week with no result. I dont even feel they did any work on it. Sat in same spot all week while I had to rent a car. Dealer found problem and called that shop con artist. While I hated, hated, hated having to spend the large chunk of money I had to spend to get a used transmission in my truck-- these guys were awesome, truly. They had my truck about 3 weeks, while I 1- took time to decide WHAT Im going to do, 2- finding me a transmission that had the lowest miles on in for used, and 3- excellent customer service. They looked over my whole car to make sure it was "worth" replacing the tranny, and the assured me my engine was solid, however had a few minor things that needed fixing. Both items I already knew, so I knew these guys were far from scamming me. 3 weeks later and I drove away stoked to have my "newer" truck back!! She was dirty, lol, but she has a 50k tranny, a new radiator, an oil change and shes up and running. I barely made it TO them the day I dropped it off. They keep you in the loop, they are good on their timelines, and they sure as hell tried to find me the best prices for parts. This is my go to shop, no doubt!! read more

I took my car here to get the usual required maintenance on it because I got fed up with Round Rock Honda and I'm impressed with the honesty by the gentleman that helped me. One of the things I needed to get done is to get my TPMS sensors fix. When I brought it up with Round Rock Honda, I was told that it would be $800 to fix the TMPS issue and that's without them even looking at the sensors. Here, it would cost me $75 since only one of the sensors needed to be replaced.That's a big price difference and my car is almost 10 years old. Don't get me wrong, I love my Honda but I doubt I'll be taking my car back to Round Rock Honda to get my car serviced anytime soon. Also, thank you to the mechanic who worked on my car. read more

My mind is blown!! I came to Austin Automotive Specialists today to get new brakes put on my truck. I waited about an hour for them to check out my truck to see what was needed so they could give me a price to repair. I was incredibly surprised when Paul came out to tell me that my brakes are fine and they don't need replacement. He could have easily charged me for new brakes but instead showed extreme integrity by being honest with me. It isn't easy to find a mechanic you can trust these days. The past few times I've gone to an auto repair shop around the Austin area I was left very unsatisfied with the work that was done. Until I came to Austin Automotive Specialists in Hutto. They are honest, dependable, and have exceptional customer service. On Thanksgiving night my vehicle slid into a curb in the rain causing my rim to bend, leaving my vehicle inoperable. Mickey and Paul were such a huge help when I came in. The repairs were fixed in less than two days, and they were more than helpful and honest with any questions that I had. They didn't talk me into getting other repairs done, even though I knew I needed them (4 new tires, catalytic converter, and inspection due soon), and wrote me a reasonable estimate so that I could budget to pay for those repairs. The day after I got my car out of the shop, my battery died on me. I had to find a way to jump start it every time I tried to start it... Due to my bad luck, an old battery, and cold weather wearing on it. I took it back to Paul at Austin Automotive Specialist and they replaced my battery for me and had it done in an hour. I was sent here by discount tire after they broke my lug nut. Austin automotive did not tighten my lug nuts properly. I went to Tuffys after 6pm when everyone else was closed. They stayed til 8 to get me back on the road safely. I watched them remove my lug nuts with their hands! Had some minor brake work down about six months ago and noticed some squeaking (only when first backing up) and took the car back to have them look at it. They claimed they coulndn't see or hear anything wrong. It got worse and finally able to take it into a competitor and they showed me that one of the pads was installed incorrectly, but there was also some uneven surfaces on the back drums! Avoid this place at all cost! I even went a couple times to try and get a state inspection done (which they advertised via a sign on the road) only to find out the one guy that can do it was not in that day (multiple attempts tried). Save yourself some time and find a better run place. read more

They had the car hooked up to the diagnostic machine within 10 minutes and came back to tell me it's a sensor that is covered by the factory warrantee. Choosing a new auto shop is always a crapshoot, because you just never know what you're gonna get. I didn't have a choice because I broke down in their parking lot. First they didn't laugh ( was a total idiot move, forgot to replace my radiator cap) they were friendly, they have a nice waiting area. And they took care of my car for almost nothing Regarding inspections? Most places that inspect cars that are not primarily inspection sites only have ONE guy that does it, and at the beginning of te month ALL places are backed up.
