It comes as no surprise to me that virtually all of Rafi's reviews are five stars. He has the two…read morequalities which are most important in connection with a service provider. For me the most important quality is the fact that he is honest. He doesn't perform work that does not need to be done. I get the sense more and more these days that services are being performed by mechanics and sadly even my doctors that really are not required. I never have this fear with Rafi. The second quality which is important but for me not nearly as important as the first is the fact that Rafi's prices are reasonable. Most recently, our garage refrigerator died when we were out of town and we returned to a disaster. We wanted to get a new refrigerator as soon as possible but it was clear that the way the refrigerator plug was jerry-rigged that it really needed professional attention. My wife called Rafi, explained the situation, and he came out that afternoon to install a new socket box. We had two other issues for him to address at a later date with respect to two of our ceiling fans. With respect to one of the ceiling fans which is making lots of noise Rafi simply showed us how it could be adjusted so that the fan would not make noise. With respect to the second fan which was wobbling he explained that to repair it would not be cost-effective but he could do a minor fix which he did so that at a lower speed the fan would not wobble that much. If we could live with that we would be fine. I think there are some electricians who would've replaced both fans. Not Rafi. I cannot say enough good things about him and the services he has provided for us over the years. I know this sounds like a paid commercial announcement but Rafi does not even know I am doing this review. And after all the years I have been on yelp I have only done two previous reviews. One for an upholsterer and one for a shredder, both of whom did excellent work. So, my praise is not easy to come by.

He is very knowledgeable about electrical problems. He's not a beginner or an amateur. He is a real professional. He's cooperative, and always easy to deal with. We did not have a single problem with him or his work. Bad wiring can cause major problems including fires. George worked until all our electrical problems were solved. When he found other electrical issues -- very old wiring, for example -- he carefully showed them to us without pressuring us. He installed two large electrical panels in our house in Pasadena. He rewired some very old, very bad wiring that other electricians had screwed up badly. He installed a major circuit breaker to shut off power in a disaster which previous electricians and homeowners had "forgot" to install. He labeled every single circuit. He even waited hours one day for the city power inspector to show up (very late) without a complaint. The city inspector said as soon as he saw George's truck, he knew the work had been done correctly. I doubt he's the least expensive, so if you want cheap work maybe you should look elsewhere, but he's not the most expensive either. Good, safe electrical work is just not cheap but it is impressive and keeps your house safe. We'll definitely use George and Preferred Electric Service again when it's needed.
