Ziad from Courtesy is saving my sanity. After months of combing the internet for "the perfect lights" for my home, I gave in and decided to seek professional help from the local lighting store - Courtesy Lighting. I walked in got great advice from Ziad. He helped guide me in how I should search for my perfect dining room light and perfect entryway light since the spaces I'm working with are tricky (high and sloped ceilings, open-concept). He gave me a few options for how I could design the space and has a good eye. I felt respected and supported, which I appreciate. The showroom is nice and has a huge variety to choose from, but I relied on their site to comb through my choices, since I am very picky and need to sit on designs for awhile. With Ziad's help, we landed on a bold and artsy MCM style Kalco chandelier for the dining, and a classy, but modern Hudson Valley lantern for the entry. I didn't think it would be possible to find both lights I'd want in one store, but I did. AND Courtesy is able to install them with all the extra pieces and fittings that they will need. It's taken a lot of stress off my plate to go through Courtesy, and a lot more budget friendly than buying the lights and hiring an electrician separately. I'm so grateful for Ziad's help and highly recommend him and Courtesy for your lighting needs. They have everything. I am also going to have to update later with photos! read more

Had no idea this place was here, tucked away in a little strip mall. There are so many beautiful, artistic lights here! Really gorgeous. Probably for all tastes, certainly for mine. So many in here I'd be happy to have in my house, when usually most places have few if anything. We worked with Zee, who knew everything about the lights and could tell us interesting things that made the lights seem more interesting. I love that I can finally go local instead for having to drive all the way to Pasadena for parts, yes drive to Pasadena cause the local hardware stores waaaaay over priced on things you need. I needed a light for my flag pole and had no clue what I really needed, so I was referred to this place. I was impressed by the light selection they had for interior bUt I wasn't there for that. I met York, told him what I needed and he ran with that ball. Handed me a light, got me a transformer, and even assisted me with some electrical box fittings. Installed what he gave me in about 45 minutes and I couldn't be happier, it all turned out great. York himself was very friendly and made the entire trip quick. Initially my wife and I ordered at the store and it was an okay experience. Lacked some customer service skills, but we went ahead and continued on an order for two pieces. A large foyer chandelier and a dining room piece to match. After that it was a nightmare, empty promises, hidden charges, and no updates. They came to install after 3 months of waiting which was fine. We understood the backorder and lead time issue. No communication after we were charged, we were told initially we will contact you once we speak with them and put the order in. A couple weeks later and multiple calls to reach "z" nothing. We had to bug them to call the company to make sure they had our order. Then 2 1/2 months later we checked to see the status, a few days later they said they called in and still no news. A few weeks later we were told they will come to install, great news! The price of install kept changing because he kept talking about random stuff rather then listening to the customer about the motorized lift we had to hold the chandelier. We paid a lot for the install and he kept changing the price because its very high and heavy (we told him many times we have very high ceilings with a motorized lift to bring it to ground level.) Two guys came to install. Great guys btw. They begin assembling and realized the chain that it came with was too short for our ceiling, when we were told at purchase the chain would be very long and we can choose the height. Wrong. We argued for a few minutes when his guys are telling him its too short and he was saying its not. Then after 3 hours of wasted time they begin again. Now they realize the adapter to connect the chandelier to the motorized lift is incorrect. Welp now they cant install, so after 5 hours nothing happens and boxes of opened material laying in my living room. After a week of going back and forth with this Z. He gets the part. (For someone who promised all these things and has been doing this, wouldn't you be prepared and have brackets to fit all kinds of chandeliers for mounting.) So after a few weeks they get the 43 dollar part. So again we schedule to install. They come and hang the chandelier. Once they put the first crystal. I see its the wrong color. Great. So now they cannot begin. He blames the company, so i don't know. Now they begin to mount the dining room. Guess what he did not anticipate the weight of the chandelier and now they need to do extra work to bracket it to the ceiling beams. More hidden cost after this experienced company said everything is possible and we told him what we had. So after that. We had two nude chandeliers. After a month of waiting. We get word the crystals arrived in corona and they were destroyed. So more waiting. Today they came to install it took an hour and a half to put crystals by one man in the large foyer. Imagine if there were two guys again to install like the first time. Thats half an hour. He charged 700 for one chandelier. Are you kidding me? If the two guys were there and everything was available. That would be completed in less than 3 hours. When he said it would take the whole day to do two. He hung the dining chandelier alone in 30 mins. Z tried to charge us for the second chandelier another 400 plus the 120 and the 43 dollars for the bracket. Are you kidding me? So apparently he takes 200 dollars off the top per install so thats 400 bucks. Nice. I guess everyone needs to eat. What a joke and a crook. Terrible. Never again. Buyer beware read more
