This was my first experience buying a used car. My advice, if you are not an car mechanic you should bring someone with you before you really buy it to save yourself some headache. As with my experience here, I bought my toyota sienna for my family. Less then a week, I noticed some problem with disc brake squeaking, water wiper pump not working and the missing a protective barrier above one side of the front wheel. I became suspicious that the car may have been in a accident even when carfax claim as it's clean ,but David assured me that the car was in good condition by having the car being checked out by the professional at the toyota dealership all payed by him . He also fixed up the other problems it had. He even took the time to placed the license plate onto the car. Now That's a GREAT SERVICE ! Yes, buying a used car can be a scary and stressful experience, Luckily David took care of the problems that came up. Remember if you had just bought the car and finds some problem right away, take it right back so he can take care of it. But if it's been a certain time frame then it's just your bad luck. I bought a corolla last year from them and it was in a very bad condition. it took me a few times to clean the interior and it still smells like puke. They used the scent of coconut to cover the smell. I thought that car was for a personal use and now i found out that it was from an auction before i sold my car to someone last month after i have done so many fixes and works on it. there are so many dents on body and engine light came on after a few hundreds miles. power steering was also leaking oil and so as the shock for the engine mount. I couldn't imagine that a 2 years old could be this worse. I didn't know why i bought that corolla but it is good that i can finally resell it to someone else.......... read more

Dave Liu(Owner) acknowledged he owed me money from an original car sales by overcharging. He invited me and my grandson(who lives 220 miles away) to visit. He was very gracious and lead me to believe he would deal in good faith. Turns out, he would not now acknowledge the overcharge or apply it to a car. David is all smiles but behind that exterior lies a wolfe ready to pounce and devour you. He will smile all the time while acting in a greedy, dishonest and uncaring way. I visited today for a 2008 Lexus RX350 and was amazed by the flood of lies that came from the Manager (Dave) from nearly the second I walked in and started asking him questions. From the beginning, he was saying he was "losing money on the car", and I felt like I needed to take a shower after trying to work with him. He also had a dated CarFax, and could not tell me what was the cause of an accident that was listed within it. Just for kicks, I went to Yelp and the horrible reviews here confirmed what I felt. Two years ago, I bought a 2005 Civic EX with a pretty reasonable price from Auto 4 Less located in Fremont, CA. I purchased a Toyota Matrix from these guys roughly 3 years ago. Found the car online at the price point I wanted and travelled all the way to Fremont from Santa Cruz to check it out. The car was overall in good condition as advertised online- with the exception of having about 15,000 miles more than listed, as well as a higher price tag then what was advertised. After some strange explanation attempting to justify the errors with the price and mileage listing- I tried my hardest to bargain down the price. There was an odd phone conversation, made right in front of me, from my salesman to the owner I believe. My salesman was seemingly pleading with the owner to lower the price tag... It all seemed a little off. There was also this strange dilemma involving the car not having a battery, then the car had a battery that didn't work- then all of a sudden the car had a perfect battery... The whole situation made me feel a little skeptical about purchasing the car- but the salesman came down to a pricetag i felt good about- and so I went for it and bought the car. Suffice to say 3 years later I haven't had any problems with the car and am happily making my daily commute in it. I regret that I didn't do enough research before i purchased my car from them. I found the car on craigslist, from them which met my budget. I was kind of like a rush decision, which leads me to spend lots of money to fix problems after the sales. all tires are different on my car, also suspension problems afterward. They put the strong scent in the car to cover the mildrew smell. When i take off my seat i notice that there are lots of mildrew underneath. I thought it would be more reliable and trustful to buy it from dealership but it turns out to be a disaster. It is a toyota 3 years old car, which is supposed to last longer, but this one looks like it is a special one that won't last that long........ if you really don't know car too much, don't spend your time and money over there, which later on you will find out a load of problems. don't trust the lady, so called sales manager, Amy over there. she seems to be nice but she is actually a liar. Don't judge a person by just looking at her face even though she seems to be kind. the boss David, which I thought he was nice too, is a jerk. If you need to buy a used car, pay more to buy it from original dealership, which sells certified vehicle, or just buy a new car now for tax deduction if you are lookin for something reliable and long lasting.......Sigh...... This used car dealership should be in the blacklist of worst car dealership ever......... not mainly because of the salesman but the car that they sell.... My boyfriend and I just got a 2002 Toyota Camry from this dealership after hitting so many bumps in the road with the process of purchasing this car. David Lin, the owner and Tommy were very helpful. They did all they could do for us just so we can take this car home. The first time my boyfriend and I came to this place to check out the car (which he found on craigslist and I was willing to check it out bec of its mileage of 16,000, the price of $11,950 & how good it looks) I've already had my doubts since we've been to rush motors inc the past year which is on the same lot as Auto 4 less. They did not guide us nor explain the process of everything so we were lost and ended up not buying the car. But auto 4 less we're very comforting, when we found out that we couldn't take it home that same day, David gave us the reassurance that we have a 90% chance of getting approved for the loan. I also liked how they let you test drive the car on your own, makes it easier to listen to the car instead of listening to someone convincing you to get the car. Since we couldn't get the car & it was a Sunday we had to wait until my boyfriend's next day off, which was 2 days after. He ran into some problems, he couldn't get approve for the loan bec of his income, we had planned on signing up for it together but I had to wait until Saturday,our day off together. We were scared they couldn't hold the car for us for that long. My boyfriend called Tommy & told him what we ran into. Tommy said he couldn't hold the car for us too long but they can hold it until Saturday with at least $100 deposit. Without a doubt, my boyfriend went to Auto 4 less & gave them not $100 deposit but $500 deposit. That's how bad we wanted the car. Saturday came & we started our day early to work on getting approve for the loan. We found out so many things, that we weren't prepared for. We only got approve for 75% bec its an older car which means we needed to put more down than we had expected. When we went to Auto 4 less to break the news, David & Tommy started the calculations of how much more we needed to add for the down payment. It was too much! There was no way we can come up with the amount on the spot. Our hopes were crushed.. I thought to myself "we won't be taking that car home today.." Thankfully, David Lin was kind enough to let us pay the rest within a month, but another problem came up. More financial problems, the check I was supposed to withdraw to use for part of the down payment was past 6 months! So my boyfriend & I had to come up with something else and that is to withdraw what we can get out of our banks which didn't even equal to the amount of the check. That was another deal breaker.. Again, we went back to Auto 4 less to break the news. Even though we knew it wasn't enough, we had to try. Before we can even tell them, David told us that he took more off from the total price to help us. I felt so bad telling them the amount we only came up with, but David Lin, the nice man he is, just allowed us to add it on the total that we will be paying within a month. Right there and then, the 2002 Toyota Camrybecame our car! Thanks to Auto 4 less! Tommy was definitely a great help. He was on our side convincing David to accommodate with our needs & what works well for us. I strongly recommend this place if you're a buying a used car :) my boyfriend and I truly appreciate what they did for us. We thought we wouldn't get the car but with David's & Tommy's help we did!!! I can't believe that I am seeing some crazy negative reviews here. I have known David since 2005. Among our friends, we have bought 32 cars from David. Today one of my friends bought a car to make it the 32nd. When i was buying my first car in 2005, there was a '96 camry and a 2001 altima that i had to choose from. I really liked the altima which was $8k whereas the camry was $6k. He told me to take the camry because it was the last year that the camry was made and assembled in Japan. He would have made more $$ if he had sold me the altima, but he told me to take the camry since it is a better car. That day i decided that I will refer every one of my friends to David. A few things.. 1) You are buying a used car not a brand new car, yes there will be some cars that will not be well maintained. if you don't like it, buy another car, don't comment about the maintenance. 2) When you buy a car in an auction, yes you don't know the inside out of the car, you might have been unlucky and gotten one of the defective cars, too bad.. a car is mechanical and can fail anytime. I bought a chevy malibu in 2002 from a dealer, it had run 8,000 miles and it died in 3 1/2 months. 3) If you go in to the dealership thinking you are going to bargain like a vegetable market, you will be offending the person and you will get what you give. Folks, there's something called trust.. give it and you will reap the benefits. i mean 32 cars? think of it, would we friends have referred if David was not trustworthy? SOO I feel like the people go on this car lot page when they are really angry and the people that are satisfied just forget to write a review! So my experience here was good! Right when i got there they handed the keys to me, wrote down my license, and sure enough i was taking my soon to be good car for a test drive! I don't know why people are giving David Lin such a HARD time! He was nice and inviting! He showed me car fax right away and gave me a decent price for the car. I asked him if his mechanic could check the brakes and idle and sure enough 2 days later when i was ready to pick the car up the idle was fine and he even did a little touch up paint on the bumper where it was scratched! Even though the brakes were still a bit squeaky when i picked up the car.After the diagnostic I decided to replace the break pads and spark plugs, but hey, what used car doesn't need a little TLC? He also said if I have ANY problems with the car that I could bring it back to him and his mechanic will check it out for me.( but Fremont is not really convenient from where I live ,but it was a nice gesture). Due to my tight schedule, I bought an Audi Q5 remotely from them, and worked with Wayne through the whole transaction. He was prompt with my questions and fully transparent with providing a CarFax. I just purchased a VW Golf in sparkling condition and with low miles and I am extremely pleased with the overall process. In the process of my search, I spent approximately 3 weeks researching hundreds of different cars and test drove probably about 15-20 cars. I spotted this car on TrueCar at a very fair price and decided to come in for a look. Right from the beginning, the sales consultant Manuel, made me feel very comfortable. I've wasted my time with so many salespeople who try and force the sale from the moment you step on the lot and even before you see the car, but Manuel was more like an older brother trying to help you find what you're looking for. In addition to pointing out all the features of the car, he's also quick to point out any potential flaws - which I really, really appreciated. Since this was my first car, I asked if my mechanic could inspect the car and they readily agreed. The mechanic said the car was in mint condition, exactly as advertised, and told me to go for it. The general manager David is a true gentleman who helped me out by offering me a great price on the car and made sure the process was stress-free and pressure-free. I had been looking for a used car and had been out all day. This was my last stop. The lot was small, but the car I wanted to look at was the cleanest I had seen all day. I ended up purchasing it but the car had issues for which I had to return it. Daniel was professional and friendly and gave me my money back. He did all he could to rectify the sale and tried fixing the car. I cancelled the sale because the car was bad. I believe Daniel was honest in his dealings with me and that is the reason for my 4 star rating. my niece needed a college car and we call Daniel at Beyond Auto since we had a great experience there last year. Sadly Daniel said they closed up shop and recommended me to this place and said he'll call David telling him to take good care of me. Before heading to there I checked their yelp and did see a lot of complaints so I know what to look for. We got there and David wasn't gonna be back for another 1/2 hour, but his salesperson helped us narrow down a few cars within my niece's budget, mostly Toyota and Honda, we test drove two Civics, one regular gas and one hybrid, then David came back and recommended us a Corolla that he just bought from Fremont Toyota through an auto auction, slightly more miles but he said Hybrid can have battery problems later, and it uses timing chain so no need for timing belt replacement later, he seems genuine and pretty honest about his cars. My mechanic was out of town so we took it to a local mechanic shop to look at, and since it was a prior to purchase inspection and we're paying them a good $95 for it, they didn't throw us a bunch of crap trying to get our money to fix it, the car had a few minor issues, all reasonable on a 7 year old car with 80 thousand miles, front and rear bumpers were repainted recently, but no damage on the inside, seems legit since they're a car dealer to get scratches out of sight when selling cars, AC wasn't very cold, but it was on a day with temperature in the 90s, and the battery was the original battery came with the car. After agreeing on a very fair price, David immediately called his mechanic who came within 20 minutes, the mechanic charged the AC freeon and put a new battery in all within the time we got paperwork done. Excellent service! Out of the few cars I looked at, each one does have one or two minor things, like minor scratches on the doors and rock chips on the front hood, one seems to have a worn engine mount which is reasonable on an older car, and whoever does the car wash for David seems to missed a couple things but it would not be the reason not to buy the car and write a bad review about. I normally doesn't go out of the way to defend business owners but it seems like most of the people who wrote the bad reviews are kinda crazy and unrealistic comes to car buying. I READ EVERY SINGLE REVIEW prior to my arrival, and it seems people have expectation of a new car when they're in fact looking at an used cars. I honestly don't know how people write bad review because of a bad vibe from David or him not willing to fill up a full tank of gas. I asked about the source of the cars they get, and they're the same as Beyond Auto, most of their cars are from auction, I later asked my mechanic(who works at the auction) and he said that there is nothing negative about cars being sold at auction, it's simply a market place for the dealers to get their hands on cars, some are lease returns and rentals cars, franchise dealer sell most of their trade ins because "Fremont Toyota" isn't gonna sell a 80K+ miles car because they can't list it as "certified pre owned". The whole buying process we were treated fairly and with respect from both David and his salesperson, David does have a little bit of accent, his English isn't all that great which it seems to getting a lot of hatred from yelp reviewers. AMAZING. TELL CRANDALL I SENT YOU!! We bought a 2004 Toyota Matrix from Crandall at Auto4Less after seeing the ad for it on CarFax. It had 125k miles and was in pretty good condition. My BF and I walked on the lot, found the car, and were checking it out when Crandall came up. He did not know that I was a RETIRED MECHANICAL ENGINEER WITH AN EMPHASIS IN AUTOMOTIVE DESIGN (so I truly know what I'm getting into with any vehicle). As a older GAL, car salespersons always speak to my BF instead of me, and I get "man-splaining" when I ask anything. Not here! Crandall was responsive and respectful. The car was clean and tidy inside and out, but not overdone so that it would cover any issues (especially in the engine compartment and the undercarriage). He let us drive the car for as long as we needed to determine that it was a candidate to take to the shop and check it out further on the computer. We did that the next day, and found only a couple things were needed -- things that a vehicle at 125k would normally need. Turns out Crandall and Auto4Less were being HONEST about the car. (ikr!?!) We haggled only a little on the price and settled for a good number for both of us. I was full of anxiety looking for a decent used vehicle and Crandall was FANTASTIC. He was everything I could only hope for in a used car salesperson. When we need another vehicle, Crandall and Auto4Less will be getting another visit from us. Go and find something from this place. It's been about a month since I bought my 2008 Chevy Express from these guys, and I've got to say that I'm really pleased with my purchase. Throughout the whole process, David and Manuel were helpful and relaxed salesmen - David even let me keep the car at a mechanics overnight while I was getting inspected with absolutely no trouble at all. The mechanic said the van was in good condition and noted some repair work that needed to be done but nothing too serious. I presented the repair quote to David but they didn't come down on price much. Ultimately I decided to go for it and still feel that I got a fair deal. Icing on the cake: there were a bunch of decals and stickers on the van that kind of bothered me, and completely blocked the rear windows. At some during the negotiation Manuel mentioned that they were easy to get off and he could do it no problem, so when I finally sealed the deal I held him to it :) Manuel agree to it no problem and the morning after I paid he had two guys apply a heat gun to the decals and remove them completely. 2 stars because my car lasted longer than I expected but the pricing is as steep as it gets my toyota matix 2003 was bought at 1000+ dollars over blue book value.I was caught off guard by all the miscelleneous fees and the tax fees.I also did some major maintenance on my cars the past 2 years....and yeah my car stereo was not working and they cut corners to fix it.....I just found out that my cousin bought a 2008 matrix for about the same price ..It pays to do your research and I was too naive to trust David...lesson learned!!! read more

I had a positive experience working with Manuel in buying my 2013 Prius C. We were able to come to a deal that I was very satisfied with. He showed me the full carfax report on the previously leased vehicle. I trusted the Toyota was well maintained and all was good with its condition. Note that I have only had the car one week however.
