I was in search of a used but quality car. I came across The Dealer site and saw 2 particular vehicles I was interested in. I was unsure which one to choose from but eventually I decided on a BMW wagon, had my heart set on it. I had every intention of coming in the following day to purchase it that I put down a $200 deposit on my credit card. Billy, the sales man and Sonia the book keeper and financial professional helped me do this seamlessly. unfortunately that evening I had a loved one come to me in an emergency and needed to borrow a good amount of funds, as a result, this left me unprepared to financially buy a car at that time. I texted Billy to make him aware of my unforeseen situation & my change in plans that I had to ask billy to please credit me back that $200 deposit. Usually nonrefundable, but billy and Sonia were very kind and considered the circumstances and refunded me anyway ! Now I don't know about you but I find that commendable and at the same time refreshing. Sometimes stuff happens and it's great to know that there's still people out there that care, and even at a car dealership! There out there, there's only a few of them left. This dealership is a bad news! Stay away from them. They advertised 2019 Kia Soul on Facebook marketplace but never responded to my inquiries! If you are not going to respond why are you posting on there??? I found them on Car Gurus and they responded. I asked if the car will be clean and ready to go. They assured me it will. When we arrived car was dirty. The person who we were there to see wasn't even there! He came 15 min later. Car had no coolant so they added WATER in front of us! Not a coolant but water. Car was missing spare tire and had bulges in the sides of the tires which is dangerous. The old man was terrible to deal with. Car had multiple dents and poorly fixed repairs. The man kept repeating he doesn't care and only goes by Carfax. We asked for the owner but he said he's not around. The office was disgusting and extremely dirty! Poor customers who have to sit in that mess. I had white shorts and got them dirty right away. You know if the people who own this business have such a nasty working environment the business itself will be bad. This car was purchased at an auction and was in a rough shape. They were asking $16500 and we offered $15500. They said no and didn't want to negotiate. The lady behind the desk ran my credit score of 830 and offered me 12% rate with $465/month payment. We walked away! The whole thing was unprofessional and sleazy. The same day we went to another similar dealership and it was great. Clean office! Amazing staff. We got 2020 Kia Soul for $17500 with 6% rate and $335/month payment. Don't do business with people who don't take pride in what they do. This dealership is poorly run and it shows as soon as you walk in. If you do business with them you'll be ripped off. Our payment would have been $100 more because of the banks they work with! BE AWARE!! this is 100% a true and honest review. I was going with my 18 yr old son to buy his 1st car. He found a car at this dealer which he liked. The price was OK and the financing was easy (as he put down a good down payment) after 2 months of owning the car, the engine seized up!! I contacted the dealer and told them about it, and their reply was "oh well, nothing we can do" I asked them in good faith if they knew the engine was bad, and got no answer, clearly they knew as they said nothing. I told them my son would have to buy a whole NEW motor, and asked if they'd like to do the right thing by helping in any way possible. Again, nothing was done, no offer, nothing. They just said there was nothing they could do. So to summarize, they have junk cars that their "mechanic" makes run so they can sell them, and then they take advantage of kids. I asked them "what if that was your child?" and still, nothing was offered. No care at all after that car was sold. Had to buy a whole new engine for the car, which my son is still financing!! Unbelievable. So - BEWARE - this dealer is selling junk and they know it. Visit these con artists at your own risk, and know that once you leave the lot, the odds are pretty damn good your car will not last long. I only wish I had read these reviews before I took my son to buy his first car, I mean junk car. Please don't make the same mistake that we did, just because they have pretty cars and seem cheaper - you get what you pay for, and in my sons case, even worse. It all seems fine short term and it didnt look like there was any problem besides wear and tear. This place is a sham... nothing listed on the auto list ap was what it described. All the decent cars were employee cars. They had friends posing as clients. The car we drove had an ashtray full of marijuana (that we found on the test drive alone without a dealer employee with us) and Billy said he knew about it, "I did not have time to detail it" he said... he didn't have time to even run a hose over it and pick the trash out of it either apparently. The car radiator exploded while test driving it and he didnt even try to show us anything else. What you see in these photos is not what you will currently see on this lot and the lot is super run down. Listen to your yelp reviewers when they say the good reviews are from friends of the dealer. I bought a car from here back in March of this year, and I thought I was getting a great deal. The car had alot of miles, but it was my first car so I was overjoyed with it. The car I originally wanted had engine problems so I couldn't get it. I get this other one and though the window on the back side doesn't open and the windshield is cracked in two places, I feel like I got a good one. The Salesman Billy makes me feel like I got a great car. Nearly two months in, the oil starts leaking, and it turns out that the leak is underneath the engine and is going to cost me $1400 just to get it fixed....Then more problems arise. I haven't had the car for a year yet and the mechanic is telling me the Transmission is going and to get it fixed is going to cost me around $5000. I'm a student, just needing this car to get to school and to work. This is legit devastating to me. I'm still paying on the car so it's not like I can just sell it. The car was bought for my cousins in Paris France through eBay he wanted to fly in for one day check the car out and fly back (free tickets he works for Air France) they picked him up reserved a hotel room in Fremont, and got him a vw as a rental. they had to wait for 3 hours at sfo cause they got delayed car checked out he didn't drive the car cause he forgot his driver license back home, anyway he was supposed to pay a deposit and they just accepted a wire next day !!!! Bought a car with 150k Miles from this dealer about a year ago and I thought I was getting a good deal for it, but I didn't. I bought the car and drove it home for the first time and the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT came on. I called him he said to not worry and that he would fix it. I went to my mechanic and my own mechanic told me the car needed an overhaul. I told the dealer about this and he said that wasn't the problem. So I let the dealer convince me that I didn't need an engine overhaul because he told me that I shouldn't believe in what my own family mechanic said because he has be doing this business for many years. How unprofessional of him to say that! At first I thought the spark plugs were the problem because the car had random misfire in the cylinders. After having the car for about a month I checked the oil and I found out it was empty. At this point I knew the car had oil problems. Later on he took it in for maintenance at his own mechanic and it seemed fixed for a day or so and then the CEL came on again! While I was at his own mechanic I talked to the guy and he said that the car always had an engine light problem and they thought it was fixed before they sold it. I didn't have a lot of time to go back and forth to the shop and a month or so past by and I called him again. This time he took it to another mechanic to get it fixed. The mechanic had the car for a week and they told me they fixed the problem. Apparently the labor was $1000. He told me it was the last time he would help out. So after this I thought the car was fine, but it wasn't. The CEL came on after a week and the oil was still leaking. I didn't want to get an overhaul at the time because of financial issues and I was sick and tired of dealing with this guy. I went to a car dealership after owning the car for 6 months to trade in this horrible car and I found out that the car was leaking oil inside the engine the whole time I had it. They didn't want to buy the car at all, but then they needed sales so they bought the car for $1000, knowing that they will lose money. So Im conclusion, I learned my lesson to never trust used cars at all, please have someone thats good with cars check the car first before buying. Don't trust the dealer because all they want to do is sell you an overpriced car they bought for cheap. read more

I called the sales manager, Billy, for a Honda civic hatchback that looked clean in the picture. I told him k was over an hour away and if there was anything wrong with the car, go please let me know. He replied on the phone that he was standing next to the car and it was in great condition and to come on by. One hour later I get there. Waited in the lobby as Billy kept walking by me as i just waited there. Surely that must be the mechanic I thought, no way their customer service is so bad that the sales manager would continuously walk by a waiting customer in their lobby without at least saying hi.... Finally had to ask for billy.... It was him... He showed me the car. It was filthy, inside and out, nothing like the photos. Not a deal breaker I thought, nothing a car wash and good interior clean can't fix. Inspected the interior, car was missing its trunk lid,both visors, rust spots, and one of the air vents was broken... Here's the icing on the cake... When I was in the driver seat sitting there, I COULDNT GET OUT. I WAS STUCK. THE DOOR WOULDNT OPEN. I had to call my buddy who I brought and he opened the door for me. It was not user error, I assure you. Billy came back to the vehicle with a battery charger (of course the battery was dead) and I told him the door wouldn't open from the inside. He replied, "I know".... Really? You didn't really seem to know before I drove an hour here. Billy recommended I lower the window and open the door from the outside as a solution, what a joke. My husband and I saw they have a Dodge Journey that has low miles for a great price . It two weeks the price dropped which I that was great because it's like yay now I can finally afford it. I went in last week to see what the qualifications were and I was told just to fill out the credit application online . Cool right ? Quick easy saves time - they knew I was applying for the dodge everything . Well, I got a call from the finance manager telling me that the car is not up for financial payment that actually I have to pay cash. I bought my car here a year ago 1989 volkswagen jetta it was used an I knew it would need repairs - He gave me a good deal an was helpful! It was a fixer upper - technically it is now a classic car I think I've put about 2,000$ - 2,500 into it including new stereo an speakers oil changes an such - I knew it would need a new timing belt due to the mileage. Its wonderful It will last 300,000 miles - I've put about 30,000+ on it since purchase :D short term maybe leasing would be better but, I'm not looking short term! :) I know I've only written one review.. Some of the cars aren't in best shape - its your responsibility to get a pre-check! With effort you can have a beautiful restored car - which is what I'm in the process of doing, I'm extremely happy with my choice though many people told me to do otherwise. :3 I'd never bought a car before an wasn't doing too well - I was in between jobs an living in a hotel.. I literally bought this car the week I was hired for my new work.. I wasn't very knowledgeable but, between the internet an sales people I was able to get everything done that I needed to buy the car. People who work here are tough so, if you want to shop here you need to be too, otherwise you' should probably buy new. Don't be lazy by not researching, I doubt you'll be liked for that.. +1 to the reviewers who gave this place 1-star. I did my research and knew there was a high probability I would be disappointed however figured I'd still give them the benefit of the doubt and go check it out. The blue Miata I found on TrueCar and called in advance to verify was still available was parked prominently in front along with a red BMW and sporty yellow car. Ok, that's good. The problem? There was a white BMW parked behind all three cars and I was told the key had been stolen and the police called so they weren't sure how they'd get the car out for me to do a test drive. They even had printouts explaining what happened taped on the BMW's windows. Hmm... So I say, "No problem, I want to inspect the Miata before test driving it." The sales manager, Billy, who was polite and prompt took me to the car, turned it on and popped the hood and trunk then gestured for me to sit inside. I said I'd prefer to look under the hood first. First thing I noticed was that the coolant was almost empty and then when we checked the oil it looked like that was extremely low too. He said it hasn't been driven for awhile and when I said, "Yeah! I can see that" and followed up with "When was the last time it was driven?" he said "Last week." I see... Just for the sake of practicing my used car inspection skills I proceed to get down and look at the wheels and brakes. The rotors looked so old and brittle that they'd probably crack as soon as someone actually tried to use the brakes (provided they ever find that pesky key to the car parked behind those cars in the front row). ;) At that point I'd seen enough so I thanked him for showing me the car and said it looked like it would take more work than I wanted to put into it to get it up to snuff. I will say that when I said "Thanks, no thanks" Billy was polite and didn't try and show me anything else so I appreciate that. And it's possible that everything Billy told me about the BMW key being stolen and the car being driven last week is true. If so though, I recommend he add coolant, get an oil change, get those brakes checked, and check for leaks as soon as they're able to get that BMW moved because if that car is actually going to be taken for a test drive, it needs a lot of TLC before it will be ready for the road. read more

Brought in my 2013 bmw 335is from Cj today. I am really strict with the cars that I buy and try to stay away from used car dealerships because of the bad stories but I went to Cjs dealership because my friend bought a car from his dealership and said it was super clean. I've owned a bmw 325i, a 2010 e92 m3, 2017 f80 m3, and a 2018 f80 m3 so you can know what my standards are. Luckily Cj is willing to listen for what I was looking for (bmw 335is) which is a rare bmw model. I went to BMW of Fremont and BMW of Stevens creek and instead of trying to find me a car they try to sell me on something else saying 335is is too rare to come for sale. Luckily for me, Cj has been on the lookout for 2 weeks and called me saying he found a 2013 bmw 335is Le Mans blue! It was the exact color I wanted and the newest version of the engine. He sold me lower than kbb and I had the car checked by my BMW mechanic saying it is super clean, I am now the second owner of this vehicle. He is awesome and will take care of you! read more

Worst car dealership experience ever! I stopped by yesterday to test drive a Pontiac Aztec. I was told that the vehicle needs a battery replacement and they haven't changed it because they are so busy. Keep in mind this vehicle has been on the lot for a month. The guy tells me to come back today and I can test drive after he drops it off to the mechanic. I call to confirm around 3pm if the car is ready, before I drive all the way there from South San Jose in traffic. He confirms and tells me the battery has been changed and I can come since the mechanic is just inspecting it. I get there and he tells me he has bad news and that something is wrong with the engine and I can't test drive it. This is totally bad business practice! People are already worried about being scammed by car dealerships and I arrive two days in a row and the vehicle is not working. That means they are just purchasing crappy cars from the auctions. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone!!! Explains their crappy Yelp reviews. Take your business to Autoworld Fremont instead just like I did. read more

At first I was kind of skeptical of this place being that it's in Fremont, which is not far from ghetto Oakland, where tow yards are full of cars that get yanked from non-licensed drivers. These abused vehicles may find their way into many dealerships, so buyer beware. I was sure any vehicle I considered within the Bay was going to be an auction bought vehicle with a soiled diaper possibly still warm as well as a stench of stale McDonald's fries from all the "bae-bae" kids all the previous owners may have had, but not the case! My truck was a "one-owner vehicle" with a clean Carfax. At no time did I ever feel pressured by the salespeople. Sonia is one of the most straightforward people I can say I've had the opportunity to do business with. She was able to provide me with as many options as possible. Being that smaller dealerships like this have less banks to work with, she was able to connect me with a bank called "Westlake" which has awesome customer service! Westlake also inquired of my experience at "The Dealer"(I'm assuming to gather feedback since they finance cars from them). Anyway, it is now going on 5 months since I financed my truck with them & I have no regrets. My truck has been nothing but reliable as well as dependable. Also, their "no-pressure approach" is highly commendable. I would definitely buy here again, & would also recommend them to people not wanting to feel pressured. My only suggestion to the consumer is to do your research as far as the Carfax & test drive. I drove my truck around for about an hour checking all gauges, shifting, listening for strange noises, looking for leaks/overheating/transmission slips, & not one issue surfaced. Remember, this is a used car lot so don't expect a new car...but, do inspect the one you're interested in. And, if you're not savvy in the mechanical department, bring someone who knows how to identify red flags. Sonia & the older gent are cool in my book, but, as I've read through several of the Yelp reviews -some do not relate to my opinion We all don't think the same, but we share a common interest such as...most of us need to get to work, need to pay bills, & need reliable transportation -so do your homework -especially when buying a used car. read more

So I came upon The Dealer and C J, the owner after researching cars on different car apps... After about 2 weeks, my car, my baby, was still on the list.. thank god :) However, I was surprised to find out that I had been eyeing a car that was a manual transmission.. I didn't know how to drive one! lol.. but I was determined to learn and after speaking with C J he told me, "You worry too much, I will teach you don't worry!" Literally, he did help me before I purchased my Honda.. I haven't experienced this type of customer service in a long long time! So he is a rare find :) Anyways, I arrived there around 10am (he usually sees clients by appt. only so call ahead), but I called anyways since I noticed the office was closed. About 30 minutes of waiting he came back with another client probably as happy as I was about to be, and then after verifying it was me who spoke with him on the Wednesday before the Saturday I showed up, he handed the keys so I could test drive it. During the drive, everything was great with the car, and my best friend who was helping me learn had only one complaint about it, but it's something that could be probably oiled up to be a smoother transition. After about an hour of practicing by ourselves, while C J was off helping another client, he showed up and then we got down to the nitty gritty. I walked away the same day with my baby and have been in love ever since! Since I have purchased my car 6 months ago from him, I have no issues except replacing two tires back in August and getting an Oil Change which helped me fix the "Maintenance check light" which came on 3 months after.. that's normal after the usual mileage of 110-115,000.. I also had to get an alignment after the two tires which he hooked me up with his slew of mechanics he has on hand. Recently, I had a scare of my car being stolen so after calling him asking for some advice, he gives me a "Club" for free for my steering wheel so I'm at mental peace when I park my baby... In the six months I have known C J to be a man who treats me just like one of his daughters. He's a funny, honest human being that understands how a woman feels about her first car buying experience, and the fact that she will already be on edge. He put me at ease and I highly recommend him to anyone because he is as good as it gets! He recently just moved down the street from his old location on Thornton Ave. as well..
