I worked with David L and I purchased from him a 2004 Honda Civic HB with good low miles, well, I wanted to get a Honda with good miles and he had a good car as well. We negotiated the price got a decent price agreement. Even though I went slightly high from what I wanted to pay for the car, the car definitely is in good condition. David and his pro salesman(this guy is young forgot his name) helped me get the registration done from their office itself and they were really willing to help the customer. Its been a month that I got the civic hybrid and used it for more than a month now and I am happy with the purchase. He also helped me get waxing done and helped me reduce the scratches. Thank god I didn't read the reviews before until David mentioned it to me, Of course he made some mistakes and he and his team is learning. Who does not make mistakes? Every one does. But the guy(with glasses) who offers to deliver the car home for few extra dollars are unprofessional acts, any way I didn't choose to get it delivered. Simply because customers have just bought a car paying a lot of money, and that should be a free service. I have no regrets with my purchase and I received my title recently as well. My daughter and I went to auto4less on a Sunday because of work/school schedules. On the internet it appeared that they had several sedans in our price and mileage range. We drove several corollas, some with the salesman Ahmed. Then we spotted a Camry that seemed larger and safer. There were no mechanics on duty, so we took the word of David and Ahmed and were rather rushed into buying the car. On the way home, we discovered the horn and the turn signal did not work. A mechanic friend looked under the hood and saw a oil leak near the head gasket. The fuse box cover was missing, so we could not figure out what fuse would restore the horn. Monday morning, I stopped payment on the check and we took the car back. If you buy from this lot, bring your own mechanic and be prepared to be a good bargainer. I went happily (naively) expecting to spend my little (large to me) 5,000 + dollars on a car that was advertised as dependable, well maintained, blah blah blah, but when I get there, it was all a load of crap. Not to mention, the place was hard as hell to find. It's in the cuts, BEHIND two other car lots - but don't expect them to tell you that. The lady working was extremely sweet and helpful, but... a liar - she told me that both the two cars I testdrove were really good. I don't know what ruling stick she was using, but WTF? both cars squealed, and the axle on one was obviously loose. plus, the cars smelled. Am I being too harsh. All in all, if you have more dough to spend - they do have a fair selection, but if you're like me - not rich - maybe this isnt the place for you. My friend and I went out car shopping on a very small budget to start with 4k OTD price for a car with around 150k miles. After 6 hours or going lot to lot and searching CL we found a 1996 Nissan Sentra w/ 114k miles female driven (not sure what that meant but okay...) we drove 30 minutes out to fremont to see the car. WHAT A PIECE OF JUNK. The rear passenger door (while locked) i can pull the door open! There was gunk on the door scratched dented everywhere. Interior was nasty and most of the inter door molding was all wrinkled and ripped. Right when we started looking at the car the sales person came over n said "make an offer we already lowered it 1k" without letting us test drive it....i wonder why. I found out when i asked for the test drive. My friend thought it drove nice but when i test drove it i found that the transmission slipped on 3rd gear, brakes made a nasty noise and it steered really bad (not an alignment thing but the steering column itself). I told the "manager" about it "David" and he said oh the brake is normal (sike i work on cars) and for the transmission just change the fluid (sike again..i checked the fluid it was already changed)...he said make an offer on what i'll honestly pay for the car...I told him "2k OTD and thats all I'll pay for that junk" he was like "be real its a good car for 1996...FEMALE driven" (whats with the female driven thing anyways....doesnt mean she took better care of a care than a guy) but DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS DEALER read more

Bought an mr2 spyder from here about a month or so ago. It had over 200k miles but had the engine rebuilt at around the 160k mark, it drove well and sounded great when test driven. A month later I come to find out that the entire car is basically screwed and has been for a while now. There is plenty of rust to be found around every bolt/ crevice in the car and the A/C compressor is broken, a big enough fault on its own, but thats not my main concern. My main concern is the fact that Im going to have to replace the engine. There are a slew of problems with it. It is burning water and oil. Beyond that the crankshaft and or rod bearings are failing, and the head gasket is blown. Whoever rebuilt this engine did an absolutely horrible job. Fixing all of this is not cost efficient, so Im going to have to spend a ridiculous sum of money on buying and installing a new engine. This car should not have even been on the lot, it was sold to me with these problems hidden. I feel totally screwed. It seems to me like they did not even know the condition of their own car. I didn't bother contacting Auto 4 Less to try and resolve this because there was no warranty with my purchase and I just moved to Southern California. I am very dissapointed because David seemed like a great guy when I met him, but I should have known better myself when making this purchase. If you are considering buying a car from this place, or any used car lot for that matter, MAKE SURE you get a mechanic to come out and do a pre purchase inspection. It could save you a lot of headache down the road. Also, when buying the car, I traded in a working mitsubishi montero sport that I never had problems with. So in the end I lost a working car and gained a broken one. I could go into even more detail than this as to how all of these problems were hidden from me (such as a 2002 mr2 containing what seemed to be 20/50 oil), but I think you get the picture. read more

Looking for a car for myself I found one under 55k miles for under 8k. It seemed like a really good deal. Looked at the pics and it seemed in very good condition , but in person the car had scratches dents and cracks. One compartment inside didn't open, the inside was dirty and smelled like smoke. Going to Target down the road to get some Febreeze was too much of a hassle i guess. They also forgot to mention that the previous owner drove into something and cracked the grill of the car which wasn't in the pictures or described in the car post. If i knew about this beforehand i wouldn't have wasted my time coming. The salesmen Danny who was helping me kept on bringing up the low miles on the car and that it is listed as a clean title. Too many red flags. Didn't even bother for a test drive. read more

Just bought a 2014 car from Auto for Less. Came in 1 Saturday and left. Returned the next Saturday and purchased and was fed good pizza as well. Couldn't be happier with my new Mazda. It poured today and I was out and about feeling secure with an amazing responsive safe car. David Lim and Manuel both are trustworthy businessman who are true to their word, Manuel had forgotten to put new wiper blades on car and called me on night of purchase to say bring car back so he could replace them. Today in torrential rain he drove and I followed to auto store where he was totally soaked as he replaced my wiper blades in parking lot. I already referred someone to them and expect once my friends, coworkers see my car there will be more referrals. So glad I trusted my instincts, Manuel you are considered a friend now. It seems like people only write in when they've had a bad experience, as in any customer service situation. I recommended this place to a friend and they skipped because of the bad reviews on yelp (which you will notice have a few that never even bought a car from this place). Too bad, too, because my experience was definitely 5 stars: I only had $2000 cash and good but very little credit. I needed a car right away and went to 3 other dealers before I found this one. I couldn't believe what the other guys were passing off as a "great deal" - 1984 Volvo for $4000? Seriously? One thing about this lot is all the cars are Honda, Toyota, Acura, etc., so if you've done you research these are proven reliable, low maintenance cars that will get 200,000 miles, easily. After driving a few 95 Camrys around $5000, David Lin told me unless I could get a personal loan he didn't think his finance co. would do it for a car of that age. There was another one on the lot that just came in (they were still cleaning it) a 2000 Camry for $7000. He helped me get the financing and down to a payment I was happy with. The next day we found the car had a problem he was unaware of, a big one. It turned out to be a factory recall that the original owner didn't take care of. I was facing around $3000 in repairs (on top of the $500 I just spent that day to install hand controls, I'm in a wheelchair). Since I bought the car as-is, he could have laughed me right out the door when I brought it back to him. Even the garage told us we were dreaming if we thought the dealer would do anything for us. He connected me to a great repair shop who gave us a great price on the repair AND a generous warranty. David even split the cost of the repair with me, cash from his own pocket. He even followed up with me a few weeks later to make sure everything was still OK. This kind of service, this idea that people will "do the right thing" anymore, is lost to the point of mythology these days. I've been in customer service for over 20 years now, and knowing he had every legal right to decline to even discuss it with me makes it that much more important. With any used car, you need to know what you are getting into before you sign and I was stupid not to get it checked by a mechanic first. Luckily, I was taken care of this time. I recently purchased a 2007 Accord with 43,000 miles and was delighted with the purchase. The car had a few scratches on the paint, a few stains on the interior floor, and a few minor missing pieces (but what do you expect from a used car). I was thrilled to find a car that looked and operated this well with so few miles for its age. It was a little out of my price range (perhaps my negotiation skills need some fine tuning) but I am overall happy with the purchase. David (manager) was very polite and cordial, and Manuel (salesman) was a delight to talk to, and there was no pressure to buy from either of them. I was able to take my time, do my research, take test drives (several), and make the calls necessary to make a deal without pressure. There were a few speed bumps however, the contract had to be re-written (due to a minor oversight), the title was not in Davids possession at the time of the sale, and David was a little hard to get ahold of at times. But he did return my calls as soon as he was available. Also, a week after the purchase, and after I was able to drive the car on the freeway (which I couldn't do during test drives due to traffic) I noticed the alignment was off by a significant amount and the windshield wiper rubber was disintegrating. After some negotiating with David, he agreed to replace the wipers (on his dime) and pay for half the cost of the alignment. I felt that I shouldn't have had to pay for any of the alignment cost, but it wasn't that big of an inconvenience. The service we received from the owner, David, of Auto 4 Less in Fremont was good but I would recommend to pay the $100 return fee just in case you need to return or exchange the car you selected in 3 days. That is what happened to us as we initially bought a Nissan and the very next day we had problems with the vehicle. He exchanged it for us (it was not easy but he did it; he kept insisting his mechanic would fix it but to us it was not a good sign to have problems the second day after purchasing a vehicle) and the one we picked next was in great shape, of course used, but it runs well and it was well priced. I would recommend do some research, do not come rushed, test the vehicle well before you make up your mind and if you have a mechanic friend who can inspect it before you make the deal, that would even be better so you have a peace of mind. read more

This Dealer (David Lin) is a very wicked. I looked a Nissan Altima. It had clean Carfax, cean AutoCheck. It looked well apart from some scratches. In fact when I drove it for a shorter distance it felt comfortable. But I could feel some noise in engine. When I checked, engine mount was loose. He said that something could be loose and he'll fix it. He assured apart from this nothing major problem is there in car. He in fact said that he has replaced many parts brand new. I was not signing the contract unless he gets everything fixed. But he argued me to sign the contract and pay $500 as an advance so that he can do all sorts of fix. He told us that he'll return all of the money if we didn't find car in satisfactory condition or if there could be some minor problems still remaining he'll additionally give $150 discount. But next day when I went there I thought to go to a mechanic. Mechanic figured out that There were oil leakage, Engine mount broken, emergency break were not proper, 2 tires were really needed to be changed, Break was squealing, drive belt needed to be replaced. There were several other things. In fact that dealer has not even completed all safety checks without which it is illegal to sell a car. He was missing 5 safety check features which he had to do anyway to make the car put on sale. In the end after many hours of argument he returned only $250 to us and clearly said it doesn't matter what he promised us previous day to refund all of the money. He said, "I am not 100% true person so what I promised doesn't matter". All his cars look good from outside but actually are junk. read more

After several months of owning the car, the transmission failed and the interior roof began to come apart. The owner assured us he would help us through these issues but nothing came of it after much discussion and follow up. During this time,we also found out the car had been in an accident which was not disclosed. In fact, a 'false' car report was presented to us saying that it was accident free. When we communicated this information out to the owner we were told we were indeed shown a car report that showed the car we purchased was in an accident and that we had signed the document . We asked for a copy at which point we learned my boyfriend's signature had been forged. We notified the owner of this and explained how we are going to pursue the matter to the full course the law would allow. He agreed to take back the car. We dropped it off and received a full refund for the purchase. We are incredibly thankful for the refund, but believe this is a business that cannot be trusted. read more

At first, I was skeptical looking for a used Toyota Avalon at a car dealership, but I decided to try this place out. I had nothing to lose. If I didn't like the cars, I didn't have to buy it. Anyways, Wayne helped us today. Very nice and pleasant guy. He encouraged us to try the Avalon they had on the lot. The car was in great condition and drove well. We couldn't afford the asking price, so Wayne offered to give us discount. David Lin came in later and helped both parties come to a fair price, so that it was a win-win for both sides. Unlike what other reviewers said, David's English is fine and he is a nice guy, very personable. I didn't get any weird or shady vibe from him, so not sure why other reviewers said that. Trust me, I know shady people when I meet them, and David was not shady. He told me everything about the car that was on car fax. Information was not hidden from me. Also,other cars on lot looked like they were in good condition. We have been looking for either a Camry or Avalon for the past few weeks at other places and nothing looked good, until this one. This a long owed review I have for David and Auto4less. I found Auto4less through Craigslist about 12 years ago when I just finished graduate school and started working in the bayarea. With no families and close friends around, zero knowledge about cars and limited budget, I was at a quite vulnerable stage to be easily taken advantage by any car dealers. David was very kind, patient and professional in helping me find my first car, a 6-year old Honda Civic, which has been faithfully serving me for the past 12 years and is still running perfectly fine until today. The price I paid was quite fair. About a month ago, I started to shop for another car, considering my first car is getting close to its retirement age. I called up David. would not recommend anyone to this place. all their cars seems to have come from auctions and are all in lousy condition. all the cars are either missing things or have things not functioning. I looked at a 99 mercedes benz c230 coupe which he says has been in the lot for only a week. his craigslist post has been up for really long though. what a liar. the cars were an inch away from each other so we couldnt even get to go around the car. he then starts to ask, do you want int? how much? right now! at this point, i havent even heard the car start. i asked him to pull the car out so i can drive it. battery is dead. gets the car jumped and ran like crap. warning lights on, sunroof doesnt pop open,rear hatch doesnt open, ac isnt cold, radio cannot pick up any signal but he guarantees that the car is in excellent condition and just need a few reprogramming. what an a$%h**e! i work in cars everyday and know that its a piece of S*%t. so dont be telling me its in good condition. oh, btw, did i mention that half of the cars in their inventory have boots in them? looks like cars got towed pr abandoned and just was never claimed. read more
