This dealership is staffed with stereotypical car salesmen who happily lie just to get you in the door, and have no respect for people's time. I was trying to sell a car on Facebook Marketplace when an employee named Nathan Nguyen messaged me about buying it, then invited me to come in. I asked if he'd be OK paying my posted price of $8,800 (its bluebook value), and he said "likely" yes, then when I asked a second time, said yes again. Once I arrived, he spent all of 45 seconds giving the car a superficial once-over, after which his assistant told me they could only pay $2,500 -- a complete joke of an offer, and a total waste of my time and gas. (I ended up selling it for $8,200.) Since this Nathan guy is their manager of used car sales, his behavior is probably representative of Winn Volkswagen. I find it baffling that these inconsiderate idiots see casual lying as good business practice. The only result of this interaction was annoying me, which isn't something that contributes to their revenue. All they got out of it was a bad Yelp review, and a guarantee that when I'm in the market for an ID.Golf in a couple years, I sure as hell won't be buying it from here. How dumb is that? read more

Instead, he kept me there for over an hour, brought in other salesmen, and aggressively pressured me to trade in for a new car--despite me making it clear I only wanted to sell. When I held my ground, he caught an attitude and promised to send the quote the next day. When I followed up, he was cold and extremely unprofessional on the phone. Zero respect for customer time. Avoid this dealership! This was my first new car in two decades and buying a car is a huge investment. I knew what I wanted but making such a large purchase work out on paper with people you just met is totally daunting. I feel really lucky that working with Sasha, Nate, and Josh was a true breeze. Talking through car specs, safety features, and test driving was clear and easy. Sasha went over all the controls and features the car and ones like it had. The pricing was fairly clear and we got all the paperwork settled within a couple hours without any roadblocks. Misconception of LoJack is 100% optional. The dealership or train and approve on deceptive practice.. These are very shallow people if they could make a few dollar off of you, they will.. it give VW a bad name. What is worse they worked it in to the finance contract, so you financed the $1099 for the LoJack that's the option that you don't want how deceptive these guys are. If they were legitimate, they write a separate contract item for it so this way you could decline it with LoJack.. Everybody, I know I will tell them about this dealership and the people involve one less customer is one, one less customers $$$$ to their unscrupulous bottom line. I just bought a car with the help of Josh, Nate, and Mustafa. I've never had a dealership experience as good as this. When I first called/texted them, they were extremely responsive and answered all my questions. By the time I got into the dealership we were all on the same page. Nate walked me through the cars and any questions I had, and helped me test drive the cars. Mustafa, the finance guy, walked me through every single form and told me what each thing was for. I was recently looking to sell my vehicle. Nathan at Winn VW reached in to me via Facebook messager asking me to come in. I insisted that I did not want to waste time since dealerships do not offer fair private purchase prices. He insisted on having me come in and see since they could get close to my asking price. I show up and meet with Nathan and his Manager Justin. They ended up $2k away from my asking price so we could not make a deal. A day later Nathan reaches out to me with messages I provided here in Yelp. Telling me they can close the gap. Even telling me that it's ok to take my vehicle off the market. I go in a couple days later to compete the deal and I am met with Justin telling me his manager won't agree to the deal. The same deal they told me to come in to complete. We came in to buy a used vehicle which was listed on their site with a no haggle price. We called ahead and confirmed it was available. We were ready to buy cash in hand. When the paper work was printed and placed in front of us, it had the usual doc fees and taxes. Great. But on top of that there were "other fees" of $500 which the Rep couldn't explain what they were but maybe advertising?, and a $1500 LoJack fee, which I don't want. We asked for these to be removed. They "haggled" to lower the LoJack to $995. We still don't want it. Ed B the sales manager explained that their business requires LoJack for insurance purposes in case cars gets stolen off their lot. I really don't care why you installed it. What does that have to do with me? It's your business expense, not mine. I have doubts that a LoJack was actually installed on the vehicle. The vehicle already had built in gps tracking system from the factory. Why would someone install an additional LoJack on this vehicle? And if not, why are they trying to double dip on an already existing option on a used vehicle? This is also criminal. BBB, DMV, DCA, FTC, anybody reading this, feel free to contact me. Ed B finally said we can not charge you for the LoJack but only if you finance the car at 8.99% for 6 months minimum. So you're forcing people to finance and take out loans as a condition to purchase a vehicle? This is definitely a criminal violation. Aside from making optional charges not optional. So instead of selling us the vehicle right now, the sales manager Ed B said "We're not in a hurry to sell this car. This car will sell night and day, so if you don't want to finance it or pay for the extra fees, then you're SOL." Mind you, they had a "no haggle price" on the car. We didn't want to haggle. They did by adding $2000 in fees on top of regular doc, license, and taxes. Guess Winn and the Reps are making $$bank$$ to be "not in a hurry to sell" at their "no haggle get it sold quick" price?? Never seen a business/dealer not want to do business and make an easy sale. And this was on a Weekday? Guess Ed B didn't want his Sales Rep making an easy commission? Sorry to the Sales Rep, you deserve better. I actually purchased a new $45k car there a few years back and bring my car there for service regularly. Never had an issue. And back then, we didn't pay for LoJack, even though Ed B says they've always had Lojack on every vehicle they sell. Ed B also said every dealer will tell/sell you the same thing. Not true. Not my first rodeo. Bought over 20 cars in my lifetime, and this is the first time encountering such crapola. But I feel like the old guys at Winn are all gone and these new replacements are scummy. I stand firmly behind my 1-star rating of WINN Volkswagen Dealership - Service Department. The level of customer service I experienced was unacceptable and demands immediate attention and corrective action. My vehicle was held at the dealership for 12 calendar days. During this time, communication was virtually nonexistent. The only proactive outreach occurred on the day of drop-off, when I was contacted while en route via Lyft to the dealership. I was informed that my car required retention due to a water pump leak. Given it was a Friday evening leading into a holiday weekend, I agreed to the delay. I was told the replacement part would not be ordered until Tuesday and repairs would be completed by Thursday--six days from drop-off. I requested a loaner vehicle and was denied. I was also informed that the water pump fell under an extended warranty with a $250 deductible, despite this being the second replacement. By Thursday, I had received no updates. I called the dealership, assuming the repairs were complete. Instead, I was informed that the head gasket also required replacement. The service advisor stated the car would be ready by Monday but preferred not to rush the work. Again, no communication was provided. On Monday, I called and spoke with a different advisor who explained that my assigned advisor was off. She could not provide a status update and said the service manager, David, would call me. David later apologized and cited high volume on Fridays and Mondays as the reason for the lack of communication. This explanation is insufficient. I work in a high-demand environment where client communication is paramount. What I experienced at WINN Volkswagen does not meet any reasonable standard of customer service. I have since retracted all positive recommendations and advised family and friends to reconsider Volkswagen as a preferred brand, factoring in the service department's performance. I demand that this dealership take immediate steps to rectify its customer service deficiencies. I strongly urge management to engage professional consultants to train staff on effective communication and customer service practices. First, Let me say: Working with Kylan (sales) and JV (finance) was a good experience. They got me into a car when I didn't think I would even qualify. They were both very helpful and helped in more ways than I expected (got me $0 down, gave me an insurance binder to cover until I got new insurance, discounted the warranty to fit my financing, etc) Otherwise, average car buying experience with your back and forth and tons of paperwork, pretty standard there. This is the 3rd vehicle I've purchased from Winn, good part of the reason I went back here again. On to the car. It was higher mileage (76k on a 2021) and had it's share of dings and scratches, but was priced accordingly. I did opt for the extended warranty as I was nervous owning a German car with 76k on it and no warranty plus they kept coming back with better deals for the warranty. Glad I made this decision. Purchased the car on November 6th, 2023. Within a week the climate control on the driver side stopped working, always blew warm air. Within a month, I started getting an oil pressure warning light on the dash. I then decided to change the oil and replace it with something heavier, since the car is over 75k miles. I tested with an analogue gauge and oil pressure was okay. Bad sensor, it happens, they couldn't have known. Sensor was $13 and took 5 minutes to replace, not worth a service visit seeing my deductible is $200. While I was under the vehicle changing the oil, I took a look around. I found coolant and oil running down the block, obviously leaking from somewhere. As the coolant was pretty crusty and had caused some surface rust in areas, I've gotta say it had been leaking for a while, probably well before I bought the car. If you work on cars, you know a fresh oil leak vs something that's been leaking a while and collecting road dirt. There was a good amount of oil covered in road dirt, it's been leaking oil for a while. So, Either they missed all this when they did their pre-sale multi-point inspection, or they knew and sold the car in that condition anyway. Maybe this is why they pushed the warranty so hard? I'm guessing they knew it would need repairs soon, so if they sold the warranty they'd also make the money on the service side. I've asked my sales person 2 times now for the service contract for my warranty and received nothing. I will be following up with them again, but it shouldn't be this difficult. Car went in for repair the beginning of January (took it to Team VW, closer to home) and they ended up doing $3,800 in parts and labor. Oil cooler was bad, gasket leaking, oil filter housing gasket leaking. Coolant union between water pump and oil cooler leaking. Warranty covered it, but 2 months after buying a used car, I wouldn't expect $3,800 in repairs and being without my car for 3 weeks. Another vehicle on their lot had a clean CarFax, but I could clearly see the gap between the hood, fender and door was uneven. Upon looking closer, I found overspray on weather stripping, obviously the fender was replaced and painted at some point, anyone car savvy should be able to find the signs. Really makes me question the used cars they're selling and the process they go through to make sure these cars are fit for sale. Buying a new car here would probably be fine, but I'll forever be leary of buying a used car at Winn. read more

I explained the situation to him and he was very apologetic although he didn't give a real explanation for why the salesperson insisted on the additional charges initially while Josh said it's not a dealership policy. But I was moved by him and seriously considered buying a car from them. I didn't end up buying from them as I found a more suitable car elsewhere. I was at Winn VW to get an oil change for my 2017 VW CC on Monday, 1/6/23. It was my first time at the dealership. I primarily scheduled my service here because I had a doctor's appointment in the area afterward. This feedback isn't so much for Doug Dalaney who was my service advisor. From start to finish, Doug was extremely polite, professional, and courteous. The feedback is primarily for the quality and level of service of the technician, Robert (as listed on my service order). I arrived at the dealership at 11:15am for my 11:30am appointment. Doug walked out, greeted me, and asked what I was there for. I explained to him that I wanted to 1) get an oil change 2) requested him to install my front license plates as they had fallen off 3) not to wash the exterior of my car as I have ceramic coating and only to vacuum the interiors. Doug acknowledged and understood my requests. I sat in the waiting area starting about 11:22am. There were no cars ahead of me. I recall seeing one woman who had brought her Tao in but she came after me and left before me. At about 12:40pm, I checked-in with Doug to see the status of my vehicle. He went and checked and informed me that my car should be ready in about 10 minutes. No problem. My doctor's appointment was at 1pm, so I was already cutting close. Upon entering the vehicle, I noticed that the oil change sticker, which is placed on the top left corner of the windshield wasn't replaced. In the history of me being a car owner and getting oil changes, this is standard procedure, isn't it? I rushed inside and requested Doug for one, which he happily obliged and hand-wrote for me. Upon starting the car, I noticed that ALL four tires had different air pressure/PSI. Left front was at 35, right front was at 38, rear left was at 36 and rear right was at 41! REALLY? But at that point, I simply didn't have the time because I was already running late for my appointment. Then I visually inspected to see if the car was vacuumed, and guess what? Robert decided to vacuum the front but not the back. Again, really? My request was fairly straightforward. No exterior car wash, just vacuum the interior and he couldn't even follow these simple instructions let alone get the tire pressures right? I went home and the next morning, when the tires were no longer warm, I checked again, same thing. All four tires have different PSIs. This only makes me question the quality of the oil and oil filter used and Winn VW's overall quality of service. These are basics! After having waited at the dealership for 1.5 hours and receiving my car in the condition I did, it was quite disappointing and frustrating, to say the least. I will never return to Winn VW for any of my oil changes let alone any other service needs. I will be writing a similar review to forwarn fellow VW customers of the same. I had an unpleasant experience with the service department at this dealership. I was quoted $290 for a Haldex fluid change when I called, but when I arrived, a different service advisor told me it would be $749. I was unhappy about that but they claimed the high cost was due to the fluid itself being very special and costing over $500. However, if you search online, it only costs $130 to get the entire haldex oils kits (including the oil, o-rings and plugs) from Volkswagen. I am okay with them charging one or two hundreds for their labor (although this particular job only takes less than half hour), but jacking up price like this and lying is unacceptable. As a comparison, other dealerships in the Bay Area charge about 700 for an entire 40k mile service package which includes the haldex service and many other things. When I mentioned this, they suddenly offered to price match. I don't know why Costco Auto Service would recommend this place, but I'll definitely be reporting them to Costco. There are good folks at this dealership. I bought my car and had a few maintenance jobs done there. Those were pleasant experiences. But looks like you need to be very careful after all as there are people who are dishonest and scammy there. read more

This place and its people are shitty. They had my car for 4 months on a simple suspension job. They just left my car sitting there to the point where it doesn't even start anymore from September to January no work was even performed on it at all. I ended up having it tow and get it fixed elsewhere. Even the tow truck driver complained to me how unhelpful and unprofessional the advisor Marla was. The advisor that was responsible for my car Alvin kept giving stupid lame sorry excuses. "We only have two techs" "one of the techs is going thru a divorce" "we don't have coverage because a tech threw out his back" do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHIT HOLE. The tech Tyler and the advisor tells you they'll get your car done in hopes to buy time but this place ... is a dishonest, unorganized, incompetent, and horrible circus operated by clowns. When the transmission went out on my Dodge, they honored the warranty that I had purchased at their old KIA dealership. And "honored" is quite an understatement as they had to fight with the warranty people for me in order to get the transmission covered and fixed. Good people are not always recognized these days... We bought our EV Dec 2023. We thought we had to have it serviced there (much further from our home). We went for service and a recall, the service adviser at the time was nice and all but communication wasn't the best and I would have required a 2nd trip to have the keys reprogrammed bc wasn't notified until I had been driving 40 min to make my appt... (so turning back wasn't an option). I Was there for like 5-6 hours, they at least coordinated a ride share so I could get food. Was able to work and felt safe. (After hangriness set in after several delays). Fast forward, they said they would arrange for our key to be reprogrammed at a closer VW but we're unable for whatever reason. The service manager, Kevin, while working with Alvin (our new service advisor) and Kyle, arranged to have a porter pick up our car to have the keys reprogrammed and we at that time needed our tires replaced. They matched the price of the tires from another dealership (so call around if you need to buy parts (new keys, tires, whatever). We got our car back later in the evening but it saved us 2 hours in peak traffic in stop/go traffic. 5 stars for effort, but had communication been better from the start, it would have saved everyone a lot of effort. Kevin H. patiently helped us tremendously by taking us (my mom and I) on multiple test drives until we were comfortable with a SUV of our choosing.
