Dishonest and incompetent service. Stay away! My 2025 Santa Fe started intermittently throwing multiple driver assist errors, and even a check engine light. Scheduled an appointment for diagnostics, and they wouldnt even look at my car that week. I asked what's the point of scheduling and they said it's just to save a spot in line. In the meantime, I have no car. Service advisor said I can rent a car and Hyundai will reimburse if the car is under warranty (it is new so 100% under warranty). Two weeks later they return my car saying they didn't find anything, though they acknowledge the check engine and multiple safety issues messages. Then Hyundai refuses to reimburse two weeks of rental expenses because they cannot reproduce the issue. This was never disclosed to me - if they are too incompetent to find or fix the issue, even if the car is under warranty, then I have to pay out of pocket for rental expense. To make things worse, out of the two weeks they kept my car, they only spent 3-4 days actually looking at it. The rest of the time it was idling on their lot just to save a spot in line. Meanwhile, I have to pay rental costs out of pocket - hundreds of dollars for nothing! The issue is still there! Terrible experience. Will never return here for service. Stay away! read more

Never lease from this dealership. Period. I leased my Hyundai IONIQ 5 from Fremont Hyundai, and when my lease matured on May 25, 2026, I tried to return the vehicle through the normal Hyundai lease-end process. Fremont Hyundai refused to accept the lease return, even though they were the dealership that originally leased the vehicle to me. I contacted many other Hyundai dealers in the area. While several of them told me they could not accept outside lease returns, they also said they do take lease returns for vehicles originally leased from their own dealership. Based on those data points, Fremont Hyundai is especially disappointing: even the originating dealer refused to take back the vehicle they leased out. I have been working with Hyundai Motor Finance, but so far the only result has been temporary extensions. That does not solve the problem. I am ready and willing to return the car, but I have been left stuck with the vehicle after lease maturity because Fremont Hyundai will not process the return. This has been an extremely frustrating and stressful experience. A dealership that leases out a vehicle should have a clear and reliable process to accept that vehicle back at lease end. Customers should not be trapped in an open-ended situation after the lease has already matured. I would not lease from this dealership again, and I strongly recommend that anyone considering a lease here get their lease-return policy confirmed in writing before signing anything. read more

Refused to accept my Hyundai lease return I brought my leased Hyundai to Fremont Hyundai to return it at lease (originally leased at fremont) end -- something any Hyundai dealer is supposed to handle -- and they flat-out refused to take it. First the excuse was an "ownership change," then it became "we don't have space on the lot." Neither of these is my problem as a customer, and neither is a valid reason to turn away a lease return. To make it worse, the staff was rude and dismissive throughout. No apology, no attempt to help, no guidance on where else to go. They just wanted me gone. If this is how they treat a simple lease return, I wouldn't trust them with a purchase, service, or anything else. I just moved here from TN. I go to Hyundai for all the maintenance on my car. I stopped by and asked if they could help me change out my headlight. I could do it myself, I had the bulb, just didn't have the correct length screwdriver to do the job. The first associate who greeted me was awesome. Super cool. He wanted to help me out but he wasn't a tech. So I ended up waiting for the lead tech, who when approached me, off rip just started to shake his head no. I thought he was joking so I asked if he would be able to help. He replied saying, "No, we charge." Which was something I expected. Though when he proceeded to say it would take up to a HALF HOUR to do the job and they charge $280/hr. Saying they also don't charge anything less than an hour. I thought that was pretty insane to change out a bulb. I then asked if they had a screwdriver I could use to do it myself. They refused that as well. Don't seem to want to help in any way. The place had no business as it is..you would think they would treat their potential customers better. Seems like dude hates his job. I ended up going to the dealership across the street, they changed it out for me for FREE. Took them less than 15 mins. Tipped the associate $40 and was on my way. Definitely won't be returning to this establishment again. read more

Hard sell on a bunch of insurance and service plans, got personal and then questioned my judgement. Most frustrating was then added in a accessory charge at the end which he said was mistake. On careful review of his paperwork,, he had this added accessory charge, from the beginning of the paperwork and tried to rush through it and dismissed my questioning, it when we first looked at the paperwor. He then tried to sell a $8k insurance product that he immediately dropped to $3k then refused to hear a no until I walked away. Could not trust him. read more

While we didn't make a purchase that day, he asked for my husband's number and said he would follow up by text. Unfortunately, that text never came. We tried calling Nas back several times, just to get his direct contact information, but never received a response. On a couple of occasions, the manager answered when we called the dealership, but even then, we didn't get any resolution or a call back. About a week later, Nas did reach out with some SUV options. While those particular vehicles didn't work for us, when we finally spoke with him he was very friendly and helpful. Wasted days, BULLIED into financing, lost the sale over Mr. Castellanos' own greed I spent two full days working with a salesman to purchase a vehicle -- I was a serious, committed buyer ready to pay in full, in cash. I asked to take the car to an independent mechanic before finalizing, which they reluctantly allowed. After that process (which took everyone's time), I was ready to buy. The problem started with the manager, Mr. Castellanos. Despite my clear intention to pay cash, he pressured me into financing instead. When I asked for a couple of hours to go retrieve the cash -- as he himself had requested -- he refused to hold the car, would not accept a debit or credit card, and wanted to show the vehicle to another buyer while I was literally there with a pen in hand trying to accommodate his demands. This is a manager who was so focused on financing commissions that he let a done deal fall apart. The salesman lost his sale. I lost two days of my time. Nobody won. I scheduled an appointment to have the last recall checked out (4th recall in 4 years). They have a call center now which is a nightmare. I've called three times in three days starting last week, and no one will take my call in the Service Department. When you call any number for the dealership it goes to an offshore call center. The representatives put me on hold while they 'try to reach' service advisors, and then come back saying no one is available. They take messages and no one calls me back. The automated service department appointment confirmation emails give bad links for phone calls. The link for texts in those emails goes nowhere- I might as well be texting myself, because no one responds. How does a business survive like this? Epic fail. read more

I highly recommend going to another dealership and/or service shop if you want a Hyundai. We leased a new Ioniq 9, drove it for one day and had to return it due to some very irregular noises. They've had the car for 2 weeks and they finally say it's fixed. Getting a response or a call back during this time was such a waste of time. Overall, Fremont Hyundai provided virtually no customer service or even bare bones relationship building. I strongly recommend everyone stay away from this place! Went to drop off my car for a tire change/inspection. Was told it could take more that a day which seems like a long time. Also this is the first new or used car dealership I've been to with a service team that doesn't offer loaner vehicles or uber back home. Worst dealership experience. I decided to go for a car and finalized an OTD number with the salesman(Noble), who then went to his manager with the number. Came back to me and said manager says that the number works. I was glad. Then he made me fill a credit check report(which was a red flag) and said it is mandatory to do that to verify identity. I did that and they pulled my credit report(hard pull BTW which reduced my credit score). Then Noble comes back to me and shows me the final price, which showed my number as the pre tax number. I was so pissed. They pulled my credit report and lowered my credit score and then this. I told Noble that if he can get me my number, only then am I staying, otherwise I am going to submit a formal complain with the agencies and Hyundai. After a lot of back and forth, they agreed to the number(plus 85$ Doc fee) Post that Dmitry, the finance manager made me sign a 35 month financing option even when i told him that i will pay full by cashiers check. He said that is a backup. I agreed at that time because I wasn't paying at that moment. I was going to get the cashiers check the next day and then take the car. After getting all the docs I checked online and realized it was a scam. When paying all cash, it is supposed to be a single payment with 0% APR, whereas they gave me 7% APR with 35 payments. I argued with them the next day but they said this is how it is supposed to be. I was already feeling off about the purchase since then but then the funniest thing happened. I saw the car with a small scratch in the back. I told them that there is a scratch and they tried removing it, but it doesn't go off by cleaning. IT WAS A SCRATCH. Then Noble started shouting at me saying why haven't I shared my insurance yet or submitted my payment. I told him that I do not want to purchase a car that has a scratch, to which Noble said that most people don't even care about scratches like that. I was so pissed and done by then that I said I'm leaving. I'll let you know if I want to take this car or not(answer was obviously no). It was the worst experience ever. I would never suggest this place to anyone. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I got the same car from Stevens Creek for a lower price and with much better service. I found this dealership a little difficult to find since one can't see the dealership sign from the street. It's situated right behind the Mercedes dealership, once you turn into the little street, then the dealership sign is visible. I checked in a few minutes before my appointment time. One of the staff checked me in after a few minutes of my arrival. I was told the service would be a couple of hours. They offered a one way shuttle service, and I asked, if I were to take the one way shuttle service offer to somewhere, how would I get back to the dealership when my car is done. The answer was that I would have to find my own means of transportation to come back to get my vehicle. In my mind, I was thinking to myself, what's the point of shuttle service if I have to find my own way to come back??? I'm not sure if things have changed over time. In the past, with other dealerships that I've been to, they offered round trip shuttle service. In the mean time, I waited in their waiting area impatiently without updates despite of my inquiry on my vehicle's service status. Two hours and three cups of caffeinated drinks later, I went to check on the status of my vehicle. I went back to the garage to check on my vehicle, my car was sitting inside, nobody was working on it at the time I went to check. I checked 2-3 times while I waited. Service was tire rotation and a recall check. It's now over 3 hours, I went to check on the status of my car again, I was told almost already, I had another place to be and I opted not to take the car wash nor charge at this time. About four hours later, one extremely comprehensive 5K maintenance service and two updates done to my car; one wasted morning into afternoon, and one unhappy customer, plus one Lesson learned... They called back fast but the sales rep was very rude. I told him that I will get it fast, please check for me. His answer to me is everyone said that but true or not, is hard to say. I purchased a certified pre-owned Ioniq 5 from this dealership last week, and overall the experience was pretty easy and smooth. I saw on their dealership website that the car was newly listed and available, and immediately reached out to them to see the car. They put me in touch with Vijay, who was honestly such a pleasure to work with. The car was just recently brought to the dealership so they hadn't had the time to fully detail it, and the state of the back of the car made me wonder if the previous owner used the car to transport landscaping supplies every day. But despite my initial hesitation, Vijay assured me that cleaning was easy to do, and we took the car for a spin. Like, a really long spin, because before I knew it, 30 minutes had passed, and I had barely noticed because driving the car was such a smooth experience, and talking to Vijay was so fun. During our test drive not only did he explain the basics of electric vehicles (I had only driven gas cars before), but he also did both a general overview of the Ioniq line and an indepth dive on some of the 5's special features offered on the SEL trim. The car obviously had a few minor issues (hello spider nest in the back seat, windshield crack, missing accessories, micro paint chips, strange wear on the tires, melted spots on the dash?? I really wonder about the previous owner...) but the price was hard to beat. Vijay explained to me what advantages a certified pre-owned status has for a used car, and I was IN. He handed me over to Michael? in finance. Super personable and approachable guy, answered all of my questions, printed me copies of things, explained every page of the mound of documents I had to get through. The cool thing is that they offered to put some of the payment on my credit card so I could generate points. So sweet. The next morning, Vijay texted me to give me a timeframe of the cleaning, and let me know in the afternoon that it was ready for pick up. He was very responsive to text with my follow up questions on some of the other minor issues I had found as well. On arrival the car was fully charged, the minor windshield crack sealed, and the car sparkling clean. He gave me some of the extra accessories that were initially missing, and even included an extra cargo cover. I had some questions about the ICCU issues that I had read about from other Ioniq owners on the Ioniq 5 subreddit, and they brought a guy from the service department to show me a printout of the records they had on that car, and I was able to see that the ICCU had been updated recently. Phew. Anyways if you're thinking of touring the local auto dealerships, definitely stop by Fremont and see what they've got going on. They are tucked into a side street off the main automall street, which makes them easy to miss. Don't. read more

I called every Hyundai dealership in the Bay Area simply trying to get the best out the door price on a Venue, and these guys were the only ones who didn't try and give me the runaround, or force me to drive out to them before giving me their best price. And they never tried to talk me out of using my own outside financing. Jose helped me on the phone and called me back late on a Sunday. Ryan and Alex helped me out when we came in the next day. And Vijay and Marcello helped us close the deal and drive off. This was especially nice since we were buying an entry level car (Venue), that they could not have made much money on.
