Really clean and professional place. I would highly recommend for your friends and family. I came in for a Safty Inspection, fast, fair pricing. I would definitely come back again! Thank mr. Sayed! read more

WARNING DO NOT COME TO THIS SHOP I came for a brake and lights inspection, when we called in he said it would be $150, when we got there he said it needed to be cash or else he would need to charge $300. We left the car there from 3pm to 6pm. A simple brake and lights inspection should not take 3 hours and on top of that he failed us due to reasons not related to brake and lights inspection. As all the other reviews said, he takes these inspections to the extreme and even failed us due to dents. DO NOT COME HERE OR YOU WILL BE FAILED. read more

I came here after having gone to several other mechanics . Sayed is honest, fair, and our communication was excellent from the very first text message . Modest but comfortable waiting room and I will definitely be returning and recommending his service. Great guy! read more

Beware Beware Beware! Do not come to here for a brake light inspection. Person will take your money cash only, I paid 150 what he quoted me over the phone and still had the nerve to ask me where I got number I mentioned yelp on top of that he said his name was Jose which I'm guessing he lied about it. When I got there he said he normally charges 300. He took a couple hours when he could have just told me from the get-go the quarter panel needs to repaired and crack on the windshield a simple visual inspection on top of other things. In other words if your car is not in new condition it will not pass. I should have listened to the reviews posted here. read more

I was there for a VSS1 inspection and Sayed got it done no hassle. Helpful guy and he stayed past closing to finish my car.

Highly recommend smog / brake and light inspection shop. The tech is very knowledgeable and very accommodating. Shop has convenient hours but is busy so plan accordingly. Thank you again Auto Best, appreciate you taking my late afternoon walk in, much appreciated! read more

Sayed the owner does excellent work, but, he is not upfront about the cost on a known service he provides- which is on the high end compared to other shops. He will tell you the price after he writes up the service. Not a good practice. read more

Sayed is a professional! Most important note here, he's a certified Master ASE Technician. I come from an automotive background, and it says a lot when your shop is as clean and as organized as his is. I see some negative reviews here, but maybe they just like to whine. I brought in my Honda Accord for a Brake and Light inspection, and it passed with the exception of my 3rd brake light bulb. He offered me a replacement bulb for an extra cost, and happily paid it. If you want quality work, go here. I had no issues and his pricing is fair! Thank you Sayed! read more

To those that are reading this, I would like to add confidence in your choice to use Auto Best. My wife and I have chosen to have our cars serviced by Sayed because of his detail to service, the quality of the service and excellent communication. We have never felt uncomfortable with asking questions and the work performed has always been done properly. Sayed uses the theory, "measure twice" theory, always giving us options before completing the work. I have all the confidence that Sayed will treat you as he has treated our family, with respect and excellent quality of work. read more

The business doesnt operate normal hours. The person who is working on the cars has no clue. It's not right how they treat you. When to another place for more but got in and out no issues. read more

Sayed provided honest and prompt service. It is hard to find a shop where you are treated so well. I highly recommend this shop!

this guy is a cheater he told me on the phone it would be 100 dollars for break and light test I called 3 times to confirm when I came to the establishment I saw rat run through it and then he told me it would be 200$ unbelievable business practice he is a liar and a cheater! read more

I went here for a last minute smog test. Sayed was very accommodating, took care of me and provided a fair value. I recommend Auto Best! Thank you Sayed! read more

I really like this place, not only was Sayed helpful but also informative. Honest and prompt service and low prices. He didn't hesitate when I mentioned a Google discount. I have recommended others to his shop since is hard to find a place where they treat you well and also with respect and mostly everyone just wants to take advantage instead of helping. Thank you Sayed. If you bring your vehicle do please ask Sayed(manager)about a Google discount and he will honor it, I'm sure you will be a repeat customer. read more

Such a humble and knowledgeable guy ! I just got a salvage vehicle and came in to get the brake and light / smog inspection. Failed the smog and he told me to drive more and come back, didn't try to upsell me any service or parts that weren't needed. I came back and passed the smog. Thanks again Sayed for your honest work ! read more

I had my BMW X5 smoked check at Mr. Sayed's Auto Best auto shop on Thursday 09/09/2021. I also had had my X5 done the same at his shop several times before that. Every time i came, Mr. Sayed always treated me with courtesy, and provided me with efficient and professional service. I checked and saw that his price has always been competitive with other places for the same service. His shop is clean both in the waiting room and service area. While i was at his shop, i saw he have three other customers before me. I talked with everyone of them, and they all were very happy with his services. These customers had their vehicles done with different jobs than mine. He even helped one of the customers where to find parts at good price. One of the customers has a very old van, and he treated him with the same respect as he treated me (with a BMW) . In another words, he treats everyone with professionalism no matter what kind of car one has. I thank him for his service and greatly recommend anyone to have smoke check at his shop. read more

dumbass guy messed with my light and said it doesnt work even though i literally saw it on n he was seeing it WHILE it was on but said it doesnt work and that my windshield wipers were to old for a brake and light inspection so hed have to charge 300$ if we come back read more

Drove in randomly after another smog place that I had planned to visit was too full. Sayed (the manager) matched the price the other shop had offered and did a great job. From my brief time with Sayed, he seemed a wonderful person and very trustworthy. I would recommend and return because of the price, the service, and because he was a very nice person that I was happy to support and give business to. read more

Went in for brake and light inspection certificate, came out very disappointed to have learned after paying that Sayed was not upfront and withheld that if the inspection failed I would have to repay for the inspection. The lightbulbs were lose all they needed was tightening which I fixed myself. Paid $75 wants $35 to retest. For those looking to get a good deal with no hidden surprises go to Santa Ana Smog & Auto Repair off S. McClay St. they charge $80 no retest fees if fixed within 30 days. read more

Not sure about the service because I declined it before it started, due to the high pricing. Why paying you $198 for braking and lights certificate, if others charge $87 ? Why paying you $79 for smog test, if others charge $39 ? We live in a competitive world... if you charge double than the reasonable market price you might get a few naive clients.. but not me..! read more

I purchased a salvage Title Harley Davidson. To register it I needed a brake & light certificates. The technician stopped what he was working on and got right on it. ( I had called for an appointment, but it's 1st come 1st serve) He was very knowledgeable and professional. read more

Despite the negative reviews I chose to chance it and come here for a brake and light inspection for my Z. (Please read full review) Money well spent! $75 one time and done. I called them Thursday about getting a inspection on my Z trying to get prices for this inspection. Every where wants $120.. $140.. $160.. he told me $75.. finally a shop with a REALISTIC price. Come in Saturday and meet with (Sayed?), and tell them I'm here for the inspection for my Z. He has no customers and takes me right in. He pulls my car in the shop and gets right into doing the inspection. He starts checking my lights and then goes onto my brakes. I'm still weary due to the amount of negative reviews about failures and "scams" here. He calls me over after he's done and I'm waiting for him to give me some excuse to make me pay more like all the reviews said.. Well he tells me I failed due to my one front parking light not being lit... which I knew about it but didn't think it would give a failure. He said other than that it's good. He tells me if you wanna run home and can fix it I'm here till 4... or even Monday I'll let you come back and pass if you can get that to work. I said ok and ran home and got it fixed. Ive worked on cars for 10 years and also own my own shop so it was a easy fix for me. Come in and be honored it no problem. He took a quick look and had me turn on the lights to be sure it was fixed, then he wrote me off and passed my car. Just like that. He then explained the whole DMV process and told me about how important the certs were and not to lose them. At this time he had other customers just pull up but focused on me until we were finished. He was VERY professional and very nice. I honestly just think he takes his job and inspections VERY seriously and goes by the book. If you have a car that's with in requirements you should be fine. I worked in this field and own parts shop for a while and know many mechanics like this that just don't like to risk their certs and licenses letting customers slide on inspections and requirements. Especially for state and DMV. But to be sure you pass, what you need to triple check and make sure works before getting this done is.. he checks All exterior lights: Head lights High beams Day time run lights (front parking lights) Blinkers front and rear Hazards front a rear Brake lights Reverse lights And make sure all wires are clean and proper. Ghetto rigged or hanging bad wires will not fly. Then on the interior: Make sure all dash lights work for each function Hazard dash light High beam indicator Blinker indicators E brake dash light Brakes system: E brake locks and is tight Brake pedal stops car and all brakes engage Pads and rotors are installed and not damaged Brake lines aren't damaged or uninstalled And you must have your pink slip showing registered owner. He must have the exact spelling and name on the current title for the inspection papers. If it's wrong they are void and you will have to have an all new inspection done. And everything is factory. I had after market lights on my car. But being quality lights similar to OEM he said they were fine. But aftermarket lights do not pass due to not meeting DOT specs. If you have all of that in order and your lights and everything else is properly installed you should pass no problem. I really think this shop just gets a bad rap because he takes his testing and inspecting very seriously and doesn't just let things slide like some shops. Which probably explains a lot of these bad reviews of people not passing. I'd say don't have any fear. Ignore the negative reviews. Just make sure your car is ready to pass inspection. Again I gave you just about everything he checks. If all of that isn't ready you probably won't pass. Simple as that. Anyways I give this shop a 5 star no problem. Great guy, great customer service, professional inspection and was done in an hour. Even after driving home and fixing my day light that didn't pass it took roughly an hour of that. This doesn't deserve most of the reviews I saw. At least in my experience today. read more

Auto Best - Passed brake and light inspection no problem. - Auto Repair Near Me - Santa Ana, California

More like Auto Worst. Routine smog test took over an hour, THEY DIDN'T RECOGNIZE THEIR OWN COUPON, and what should've cost $20 ended up being $38. There is almost no parking, the staff are incredibly slow and don't seem to care much about the customers. It's impossible to find service. The coffee was even bad. Find somewhere else to go. read more

I called over the phone and asked how much was it for a headlight and brake light inspection and they told me $40 bucks. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! I drove all the way from the Tustin border to go here and it says the hours are 10-6 M-F. I get there the lights are out the doors are closed and the service bays are locked up tight. No sign stating when they will be back or if they will be back! Screw this place! I went to Shell Gas Station on Grand and Edinger and was in and out in 10 minutes and they honor the coupon from Auto Best! So instead of $50 they did it for $30. Shell Rocks! read more

I called in at 11:00am saying that the store was open at 10:00am and no answer. My boyfriend and I had been calling the owner's number all day long. Finally he answered telling us he will come in at 1pm. We said okay! We will wait. We waited until 1:30pm to see if he was coming, which he said he was but then he changed his estimated time arrival at 2:00pm. As soon as it hit 2:05pm we called to see if he was there and he said he was but when we arrived a client had already came in before us. After waiting for almost 5 hours someone else was there before us. I seriously don't get that. If the shop says it's opened at 10:00am the owner seriously needs to make sure he OPENS at 10:00am and not 1:00pm. read more

I went here for a smog check this morning. The service was quick and the worker was friendly.

I called to make an appointment for a brake and light inspection, (just needed the certificate) on the day of my appointment I went in and one of my lights was off. So I was advised it needed to be changed. I told the owner i would take a 5 minute trip to auto zone and change the light out. I got back in less than 20 minutes, And the owner said I needed to pay another $25 to re inpect my vehicle. When he had just inspected it and told me only that light needed to be changed. Such a rip off. read more

Went in for a smog check last month. The man working there was very helpful and kind. Thank you!

Zaid is the man. Very accommodating and reasonably priced. I needed to go in for a brake and lamp inspection. I let him know that I only had 45 minutes during my lunch break and he said he can finish it up in 30-35 minutes tops. He was done in like 25. There were a few walk up customers that he assured would be attended to as soon as he was done with my vehicle. It helps to call in advance! Very happy and left to make it back to work on time. Thanks again Zaid! read more

Auto Best, hmmm well I went here to accompany my girlfriend because she needed a smog check and the certification, I am sure all of us know that whole process. She choose this place because she found a coupon for it in the penny saver, Auto best is located inside many other car working shops, the parking lot is filled with other cars, and is kind of tight because well the whole space isn't big at all. Turns out when we brought her car in, the guy informed her that even with the coupon it is going to be the same price which was i think 29 something that including the certification, so the coupon is of no use. So that was a big remark that would be going on my review. There was a waiting area, but really it was just chairs to fill the void that they had in their space. So my girlfriend and I decided to just walk to the nearest 711 they had down the street. It took probably about I would say 20-30 minutes to get everything done, and of course they would call us in and say that she needs to change her filter and stuff like that. We counted saying we have our own mechanic, just wanted to come here for the smog check and that was it. I don't find myself nor my girlfriend coming back here again since the coupon was useless, but hey I just consider it another thing to review for my yelp page =) read more

Came in to get a smog check without knowing any better. The guy recommended I replace some belts which I had already noticed were starting to crack. Sure, why not, I'm already here right? Three hours later. . .my car is ready to roll. As I'm pulling in to my apartment I notice that they really hooked me up. The belt that they just installed is slipping and it now sounds like I'm in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Thanks Auto Best!!! read more
