I've taken my 2003 Honda Civic to Mr. D's Automotive for several repairs now, and they always do great work. They've done my timing belt and water pump, repaired my head gasket, resurfaced the cylinder head, replaced burnt valves and valve stem seals, and most recently recharged and serviced my A/C. Anytime I've had an issue after a repair, they've been willing to take another look and make sure everything is right. They stand behind their work, which is something I really appreciate. My Civic has over 245,000 miles, and they've helped keep it running great. It's hard to find a mechanic you genuinely trust, but I really trust these guys with my car. Love coming here! Very straight forward shop. Located right in the corner!!! You'll be in and out really quickly if you know what services you need done. I have been coming here for my quick oil changes for about 4 years now and had a few minor replacement parts as well dealing with the AC. There will be times in which Mr.D will tell me "go to auto body shop" to fix other issues. Deep down, I wish I could just bring my car here for everything because of the great experiences I've had with the service. However, I'm glad he's HONEST and not just trying to snag a quick couple bucks off a little girl. P.S. the only downside to this location is the driveway - it can be pretty steep entering and exiting. But if you can make it up, you'll enjoy the fact that your car doesn't need to be raised to get worked on! They have an UNDERGROUND area.... SOO COOL! read more

My dealership gave me a few places to go that was covered under warranty, and I chose this place based on reviews and also the fact that I love supporting small business. I was having a problem with the accelerator, and he took THREE hours (even though I came first thing in the morning and called ahead) to tell me that I was pushing the gas petal wrong... really. Then, come to find out, it was a simple battery issue and the battery needed to be replaced. I was getting my oil change next door at the Fast lube N'Go when I walked over next door to see if I could get an estimate for my sway bar links to be replaced since it looked pretty slow here I asked the man in the front if I can get an estimate gave him the year make & model & said I can also provide the parts he said no customer parts accepted so than I said no problem can I have a quote or verbal price for the service he said no he was very busy ???? I don't know what he defines busy as but didn't seem busy or like he was helping anyone else.. anyway he could've just said maybe call or come back later but hey the guy did say he was very busy so I'll advise whoever reads this review to keep in mind the people here at Mr.D auto might be "very busy" to help or answer any questions. read more

Sitting here in the downstairs waiting room in this comfy a** chair. No air conditioning but it's lofty with the doors open so there's a nice breeze. There's no t.v., omg I'm so bored! There's a McDonald's across the street with free WiFi if you'll be here for a while like me, and there's paid WiFi for $2.95/hour through time warner. The shopping center across the street has lots of food and stores to keep you busy if you're in for a long wait like me :-\ I called Mike yesterday, being transferred here through my drivetime warranty trying to get repairs on my 2005 Mercury Montego (which is a Ford, unfortunately I didn't know that at the time I bought it haha). Drivetime pretty much sold me a lemon, it's had a delayed start from the beginning that's progressed to the stupid passive anti-theft system causing a no start sometimes st only 7 months into ownership, usually happens on exceptionally hot days. Now I'm at 10 months of ownership and the air conditioning stopped turning on yesterday, a month ago the steering wheel started making noise whenever I move it, and the dashboard has been reading that the fuel gauge is open since 6 months into ownership. So I was hoping Mr. D's could somehow make a bad situation better. So far they have. I took it to America's Tire and they quoted $850 for just the gauge problem. The Drivetime approved auto shop for Riverside was going to charge $650 for just the fuel gauge problem. This dude...like I'm about to cry because I've had a horrible week and so many frustrations with this car...he's charging $725 to fix everything. Not just the fuel gauge problem, but everything. In fact for just the fuel gauge problem it's about $425, way lower than everyone. They haven't done repairs yet so I'll have to update afterwards, but if everything gets fixed and the check engine light goes off I'll have a major headache taken off of my plate. They seem really honest, it's like a discount auto repair shop compared to everyone else. I'm never buying from Drivetime again, but I'll definitely bring my future cars here for major repairs (I'll still go to America's Tire for oil change because they always have coupons for $19.95 oil changes, but that is the ONLY reason, eff them otherwise). read more

I have an '04 Honda Civic for which I've never had to spend a DIME on a mechanical repair. It was 15 years old at the time I brought it into Mr. D's and had about 73k miles. In other words, it was a VERY healthy, reliable car. I was intending to move 800 miles away just a couple weeks after I brought it to Mr. D's. My dad, a car mechanic, told me that I should probably get the timing belt replaced purely bc of its age. I had this done at Mr. D's in late Dec of 2018 before my drive to Portland. In the last week (Jan 18, 2020), my car stopped running in the fast lane of a five-lane freeway. Again, this is the FIRST time my car has had a problem in its LIFE. I had it towed to a nearby mechanic shop. They assessed that a bolt was not secured from the work Mr. D's did, and that this has been damaging my new timing belt. I was wondering why my car was kind of rumbling when I turned it in after I first got it back, but it was working fine. So, as a typical busy person who knows nothing about cars, I didn't think it had an issue. I called Mr. D's today after diagnosis of the vehicle's problem. Mr. D won't do anything bc the work is outside of the warranty by about TWENTY days. His shop put my life at risk, and all he wants to do is not pay for his major error. He offered to do something if I could bring it in, but my car can't drive 500 miles to his shop...bc he messed it up. (Yes, the irony!) This shop's work obviously affirms the "don't take your car to a mechanic or it will never be the same again" notion to a T. SO, DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE unless you want to risk screwing it up and costing you more money. I am in the process of contacting my lawyer about this. read more

Great service. Came in with some transmission problems for a second quote and little did I know I had a dirty throttle body that caused my car to stop suddenly, and after cleaning it it fixed the whole problem. The shop I went before wanted 4,000 for a new transmission, and then I found Mr D's, and they fixed my problem with free and I was out the door within and hour with free of charges. I would recommend this auto service shop to anyone with car problems. read more

I got my brakes and rotors done for my Nissan Sentra and they made sure to grind the rotors down to spec and included the new brake pads in record time. Because: 1) Excellent services, never cheat or push unnecessary repairs. 2) Fair and reasonable price, with paperworks printed out and legible. 3) Very nice character/behavior. Furthermore, the waiting room is always clean and it's like a medium living room size with a large screen TV, FREE WIFI, comfortable living room chairs, lots of magazines, and free coffee. I came here at the end of 2014 for an oil change and tire rotation. Normally at most places tire rotations are a part of the service for no charge but I was charge $20. This must be some sort of new policy, but I was actually surprised. I paid for it anyway because the holidays were around the corner and Michael's given me fair prices and good service in the past. But still! I thought tire rotations were usually included. Because of that whole tire rotation ordeal I decided to knock off a star from my previous review. Becareful when you bring your car here. This place is a rip off. I brought my car here couple days ago because my car was dead on the middle of the street. When My car was dead I did some research and found out the problem but did not let this place know so I want to see what they will tell me. First when they were checking they told me that the computer of my car is malfunction so I need to have it fix for over $500. I was surprised that they told me that so I had no choice but to let them fix. Then couple days later they told me the problem was something else and wanted me to pay for the earlier fix. Finally the problem was the steering wheel lock box that I knew that was the problem in the first place. They told they will fix it for another over $900. Please stay away from this mechanic shop they know nothing beside ripping your hard earn money. read more

Everyone here was so helpful. I drove in with my car smoking and they quickly diagnosed it and figured out the problem. I had a cruse control rev cable that was making it idle at high rpm and a faulty starter. They were clear on what needed to be fixed and the price was reasonable. Wow!!! $70.00 for a synthetic oil change on my 2003 Toyota 4Runner and was quoted free no charge for tires rotation ha ha.. this ahole charged me $25.00 for rotation Tax and fee $110.00 wtf? After thousands of dollars spent and a few trips to return car,; had hub assemblies and rotors replaced and still have same issue plus a few more, a scratched window, a flat tire fault; their scanner is not resetting the code.
