The Lincoln dealership also couldn't assist, and I was sent to four different locations across the valley, including some specialists, but none were successful. Some attempted unsuccessfully, while others suggested welding off the bolts, with no guarantee of the cost or damage. After exhausting every resource in the area over a week, I contacted a friend who owns CMH Auto in Niagara. Phil found the situation ridiculous and offered to help, but it meant driving four days with three worn tires with 55,000 miles on them, a risk I couldn't take. As a last resort, teary-eyed, I pleaded with the service manager, Dave Sleater, at Wheel Specialists to see what he could do. He asked me to leave it with him, and my wife and I took an Uber home. Within the hour, he called to say it was done, and the relief I felt was incredible. After a week of frustration, I finally found my savior. When I went to pick up the vehicle and expressed my gratitude to Dave, I noticed his two cut knuckles.
