If your doing a insurance claim for your vehicle. Do Not go to Tracy's auto, they cannot be trusted. They will say anything to set you up and get your car in there lot. Once there they will refuse to work with your insurance company. They don't answer the phone and don't call you back. My insurance revoked my rental car because nobody at Tracy's auto would answer the phone or return any calls. You will have to actually go in to there tiny office if you want a update. There parking lot for clients is so small I was almost hit pulling in and pulling out of there small space. Inside feels very tense, Troy who was extremely uptight and clearly understaffed was rude and degrading. He spoke over me and had the nerve to tell me to get in line behind his 52 other cars in front of me that he has on his lot. I understand your the only employee working today but keep your personal issues away from paying customers. Payment was a huge hassle, it took 50 minutes just to pay my deductible because this shop doesn't have Apple Pay. Over all this was a bad experience and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, (1) poor customer service, (2) outdated payment options and equipment. I don't like to review this way, especially during the times we are in, but DO NOT and I repeat do not let Tracy's Auto Body near your vehicle. I brought my car to them after an accident thinking they were a family-run small business right up the road from me and by using them I would be giving back to our community. My insurance company paid them promptly about $10,000. I'm a very patient person, but when I'm told my car will be ready in 3 weeks, I kind of expect it to be ready around that time. I was later told my insurance company needed to give them a little more money and Tracy's got it about a week later. Next I was told my car would be ready by the 4th week and then the following Wednesday and then the following Friday and it just went on and on. They were holding my car hostage without a good explanation. Just BSing. It was over 2 months before I could take home my car, yet they continued to mess things up and not finish the job properly. In the end they were paid around $13,000 for a rear corner fender bash with no framework, no maintenance. All cosmetic. Before picking up my car, I decided to speak with their manager and give them a chance to make things right with the lengthy time and constant BSing about when my car would be ready. Instead, I was given another BS story about my insurance company not paying them promptly. This must be their go-to line. Didn't this guy know that I had records of my insurance company paying them promptly and the checks being cashed the same day? Tracy's representatives lied over and over. I don't know why they weren't honest with me about what was taking so long. This was all before Covid-19 and there was no excuse for dishonesty. Heck, I would have understood if they told me it was wrong parts, had to repaint, workers not showing, but nope... all I got was the run around. When I finally got my car home, I noticed over-spray was coating the entire car. There were also paint nibs on the back bumper and some molding had been damaged. When I brought the car back, their new rep. said it would all be taken care of. I wanted him to put in writing that they would finish the job, but he said to trust them. He agreed it was their fault, but proceeded to BS about the possibility it happened after my car came home. This was way insulting, but again, at their mercy I wanted it fixed and finished so I AGAIN trusted them to do this. Well, keeping with their poor service, they only cleaned up over-spray on the molding and on the top of the car. They also didn't fix the paint nibs. I gave these guys so many chances to do the job right, finish the job right, but nope. They just couldn't do it. I ended up picking up a clay bar and cleaning the rest of the car myself. I also found that they picked off a couple of nibs and left those spots without paint. I ordered some touch up and took care of that myself too. My car was brand new with 4,000 miles when they first started their so-called work. Tracy's had a chance to make things right and they didn't. They could have cleaned up the vehicle after their work and they didn't. They could have arranged for a detailer to clean up their mess and they didn't. So, like I said at the beginning, DO NOT bother with this company. They will lie to you, give you the run around and in the case of my insurance company, grab a ton of money and who the heck knows how much was really needed. I will NEVER go back there and I am disgusted that I even have to drive by often. So much for a nearby neighborhood shop! read more

Update: My car has made its way, via paid for by Tempe doge and Chrysler to another body shop they use. So these guys burned the paint by buffing too much and didn't remove the dent completely. Anthony Martinez went above and beyond yesterday. My suv's bumper had been scrapped up while parked at work, by a young driver. I just brought it in to get a quote to provide the driver and his family. Anthony took a look, requested the keys to take it around back. Within 10 min, he brought it back and wow! He had buffed out all but the deepest scratch and then applied paint to that! When I mentioned that I would like to buy some more touch up paint for a couple older self caused scratches on the front bumper, he gladly came back out to the car and fixed those as well! I was able to call the mom of the teen driver and say we're all good. No need to ruin this young drivers insurance rates and no additional costs for either of us. I often question whether or not mechanics & vehicle specialists are honest. I tend to believe that many are not, and elect to take advantage of people by overcharging or misleading their customers. Despite my bias, I believe Tracy's Auto Body is one of the shops that is truly honest and it's employees have true integrity. I brought in my car to get a quote on a misaligned car door. Because of the damage, the door barely shut and produced a ton of road noise. Anthony literally took my car into the shop for 10-15 mins and came back with the door completely fixed. It was perfectly aligned again, and closed properly. He was honest in telling me that the hinges rolled, and that it was a quick fix of which he would not charge me for. I'm extremely happy with the customer service, the honesty, and the help provided at no cost. Not only will I come here again for any body work, but I'll recommend anyone I know who needs the same. Brought in our brand new Outback Subaru after a college kid rear ended me on the 101 ( less than a month after we drove the car off the lot). The damage to the bumper was slight, but present. The guys at Tracy's took a look, buffed it out and cleaned it up - NO CHARGE! Took less than 30 minutes and made all the difference (both for my wife and the young man who hit us). Also, I asked about a paint touch up for my Mom's 2006 Charger. They gave me the straight score about the cost to repaint the vehicle and I really appreciated it (in short, not worth it to have the whole car painted) - who tells you that? On December 20, 2021, I dropped my jeep off at Tracy's Autobody Shop in Tempe. AZ, after it had been backed into at a parking lot. There was just minor damage that needed to be done on the passenger's side, which to me shouldn't have taken more than maybe two weeks. I called periodically, and they blamed Progressive for it taking so long. After Progressive adjuster looked at my jeep, he/she was supposed to call me and go over the paperwork but failed to do so. On January 18, Darrell called and said that they vehicle was completed and ready for pickup. So, when I got there only part of the repairs were made. Darrell blamed Progressive because they didn't call me, but he knew the repairs that needed to be done, and he failed to bring to those to my attention before I had gone to pick up the jeep. February 2, I called Darrell to check on it (again), and he said that he and Troy (the manager) needed to go over the remainder of the repairs that Progressive had not paid for yet and that he would get back with me. I called four hours later, left a message, and then called again just before they closed. Darrell said that he hadn't had time to get with Troy and go over the paperwork yet and they had over 60 vehicles to work on. Now this has been almost 6 weeks for minor repairs. Then he said he'd be right back; he laid the phone down (not putting it on hold) and said Lisa K* is on the phone again and she's f***ing burning up my phone and then a few more choice words to say to me. When he came back to the phone, I told him that I heard what he said, and his response was "I don't care". Progressive may have had some of part of the delays but not six weeks' worth. Well now it's February 3, 2022, and they still have my jeep. The conclusion is that they only care about getting the business and if your vehicle is there waiting for repairs it gets put on the back burner and it's obvious that they DON'T CARE. It appears that they produce an estimate and find items to add to it (which of course raises the bill) that's not necessary and blame the insurance company for not approving them. read more

From the moment I walked into the building til the day i picked up my car I was taken care of 100%. The staff we friendly and kept me in the loop where my car was at in the process. My beloved 2001 Durango was involved in an accident and damaged the front end quite severely. I had taken extremely good care of this car and it had low mileage for a 19 year old car. I wanted it repaired and repaired correctly despite the fact that the value of the car was less that the anticipated cost of repairs. Chip Tracy and his crew was the answer. There were NO shortcuts. Parts were hard to find since the car was so old. He persevered and found every last screw and minute part so that when he finished, the car looked show room new. I had some experience with body work in my ancient past and I was surprised to see the attention to detail and an insistence on perfection. It took a while, but that was because the parts were not readily available. He even went so far as to take pictures of the old decals under the hood to preserve that information since the decals are no longer available. Tracy's also fixed a few other dings in the old buggy without charge. The car was returned washed and detailed and looked beautiful. I can't understand any negative reviews because my experience was so far to the contrary. Some customers will never be pleased no matter how good the work is done. Timing is always a tricky issue for any vendor, and that's particularly true when you're dealing with the vagaries of insurance companies' policies and procedures. I would give 1000 stars if possible. If you want the work done correctly to the smallest detail, go see Chip and his staff. read more

My experience when working with Troy was probably one of the best encounters I have had while working on my vehicle. Tracy's AutoBody was recommended to me by the Jeep dealership, and having a 20 year old vehicle with rust, dirt, and all other elements on the undercarriage - they were more than willing to go out of their way and help me with all that I needed. I brought in my 2004 BMW 330ci due to having a new bumper cover painted and installed by another body shop, but the other shop failed to align it properly. I searched on Yelp and found Tracy's Auto Body and decided to give them a try and see if they can fix the fitment issue. Chip promptly answered my message and gave me a reasonable quote. I brought my car in and had it out the same day, and much to my amazement, they were able to line it up perfectly. The issue was that the other body shop had failed to use the plastic clips that attach the actual aluminum bumper to the bumper cover. This is why it pays to take your car to a reputable shop so they can get it right the first time. Additionally, I had a license plate frame that needed to be painted and they were able to get it color matched perfectly and back to me in a couple of days. Do not go to Tracy's Auto Body shop!! They lie about their "free estimates" that they claim on their website...I dropped my car off there thinking the insurance company was going to cover the costs, however they tried charging almost $6,000 for some minor cosmetic damage. Long story short, they basically said they would not fix my car and I had to come pick it up AND THEY DIDNT EVEN FIX MY CAR while STILL charging me $100 dollar a day for "storage" fees which came out to over $3000 PLUS $250 admin fee PLUS $250 fee for the technician to take my car apart. They did not fix my car and they were trying to charge me over $3000 to pick up the car just because it was there in their shop. SUCH SCAM ARTISTS!! Do not use this company they are a rip off!! They ended up charging me $1000 dollars after I threw a fit just to pick up my car with it torn apart not even fixed and cosmetic damage not even fixed....I am warning you now DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They LIE on their website about "free estimates" why are they charging storage fees if it's supposed to be free!!??? I took it elsewhere and they were able to fix my car for less than half the price!! Don't go here!! They will blame it on the insurance but really it's them!! read more

While driving home from work last week my car developed a loud noise that sounded like I was dragging something. When I arrived at home I got out and looked under the car and sure enough, a piece of plastic was hanging from beneath the fender. The next morning I drove to work and left my car with collision center of a Toyota dealer that conveniently was across the street from work. They had my car all day and when I walked over to get the estimate it was $856 and they would need my car for 3 days! That same evening I had to pick up my dog from Dog Days of Tempe and I drove past Tracy's Auto Body and the next morning I called. Boy, was I happy I did. I drove there after work and Chip, the owner, walked out to my car looked underneath at the area and we went back into his office as he worked up the estimate. I loved the setup they have too. I had a monitor in front of me so I can see the prices and parts as Chip entered them into the computer. The price for this repair, get ready for this people, $141. I authorized Chip to order the parts needed and a couple of days later he called and said the parts were in. I drove back and waited while they did the repairs and I was out of there in 45 minutes. Tracy's is a family owned business and one of his daughters runs the front office and was very nice as was her sister that was working in another section of the building. Customer service is top notch and I really felt comfortable there. They also have a car detailing serviced in the building called JT's Auto Detailing which is owned by a son. I plan on getting my car detailed in the coming months and know I'll get the same outstanding service from JT's. read more

I highly recommend Tracy's! Exceptional and personable service, high quality workmanship, and honest, trustworthy leadership. For someone who is not proficient in cars, I was sick to my stomach when I accidentally damaged the outside mirror of my VW Passat. That feeling was worsened when I was quoted $900+ by the VW dealership (that I've been taking my car to since buying it there). I learned the dealership was adding on expenses, like a new glass mirror (when mine wasn't broken, just the outer framing) which they said they do "in case your glass breaks during repair." Even after uncomfortable negotiating, the lowest they'd go was $650. This experience prompted me to search for other options, and I found Tracy's on Yelp. I read the reviews and was impressed, so I called in and got the owner, Chip. Even over the phone, Chip assessed my needs and quoted me $527, explaining every cent he'd charge along the way. Lucked out that Tracy's is very close to my job. When I dinged and scratched my Jeep, I took it there to get repaired. Troy Petty took care of the estimate and supervised the repair. He was great to work with. Estimate was VERY reasonable (I was paying out-of-pocket). They even arranged a pick-up to the rental car place and I could leave the rental care there when I picked my Jeep up. The work they did is impeccable. Can't even notice a thing. Only slight downside was it took 5 days to complete an estimated 3-4 but that was because Troy and his team were being extra diligent about the work. And communication could have been a little better on giving updates as to the status of the Jeep. But Troy was very responsive to e-mails and made sure the Jeep looked as good as new. Tracy is great! -I walked in (no appointment necessary) and he had my estimate done very quickly. He is extremely knowledgeable about cars, even my old SAAB! He found the right parts and was able to e-mail me the estimate so I could get my insurance company going on my claim (the AZ dept of risk management needed a second opinion to begin repair payment, because I was hit by a state-owned vehicle). He understood my situation and was really comforting, because he is an expert at the insurance process. -- As he pulled up the parts he had a second screen on his desk facing me so I could see exactly what the parts were, what they looked like, where they fit on the car, if they were in stock or discontinued, and their actual cost. I even had an emblem that had broken off and they offered to glue it back on without charge. If I need anymore major work done I will definitely come back!
