My wife and I drove from Orlando (about 1.5 hours), and the seller also met us there at the scheduled time. When we arrived, the store manager informed us that our appointment would be delayed by approximately three hours because they were busy and a technician had not shown up for work. Unfortunately, we had not received any phone call, text, or other notification that our appointment would be postponed. Neither we nor the seller were able to wait an additional three hours, so the inspection could not be completed. As a result, we lost significant time and incurred unnecessary inconvenience. While unexpected staffing issues can happen, the lack of advance notice and the manager's apparent indifference to the impact on all parties reflected very poor customer service. Based on this experience, I would not recommend the Pep Boys on Bearss Avenue. If you need a pre-purchase inspection or any time-sensitive service, you may want to consider another location with stronger customer service and better communication.

I received an online quote of $430.00 ($347 for the tire) for a single front tire replacement on our 2024 BMW i5 under my name. The tow truck dropped the vehicle and put my wife's name on the after hour drop box envelope. The next business day we received a quote in her name for the exact same vehicle and identical service, but was quoted $402.00 ($321 for the tire) under her name. Neither request had discounts or promotions applied. When we questioned management about why two different people received two completely different prices for the exact same car and tire, they gave conflicting stories about part numbers and tire tiers, and even tried to charge a restocking fee just to match the lower price given to my wife. I'm sure by now you have figured out that my wife and are visually different. When picking up the vehicle, management was hostile, unprofessional , and tried to force a $1,700 upsell claiming the car was suddenly unsafe to drive --something never mentioned during initial inspection. They only honored the $402 quote after a major dispute on the phone and presenting them with the fact that I had both quotes in my possession even though they rushed to delete my wife's quote from their system. Getting quoted higher prices depending on who you are and receiving hostile treatment after calling out the disparity is completely unacceptable. Use caution or find somewhere else. They are not fair and do not treat all customers equal...for whatever reason.

However, a month later I am having to replace one of the parts he installed which all of the parts were HEAVILY marked up when I compared my receipt to autozone prices. He charged me $80 and my local mechanic charged me $25 and its on Autozone for $27. The radiator was marked up by over $200 when I looked today. He said the part is covered under warranty but labor is not to redo what was not operational a month later and I have to pay another $300 to correct the work. I took my vehicle to a local shop and they did testing for free and said they recommended i call him to see if it was under warranty which seems like good business practices so i did and the warranty policy doesnt cover labor so it doesn't make sense for me to go back to him to correct work. The part he installed, he claimed was Chrysler but it was actually MotoRad, an independent company. See photos for my services, the response I got which i personally found very offensive.
