They came to my address through AAA roadside assistance and they replaced my car battery in under an hour. Both guys with the brand-new Ford tow truck were professional and knew what they were doing. Got into my car 20 minutes before heading out to work. Dead.... I knew it was coming but hoping it would make it to the weekend. Called AAA and this company came out. According the AAA website it said 90 minutes. Cool I could be home by work from them. 10 mins later got a text that the tow people were on the way. Luckily my new job is cool. The tow people, called and said they would be in there 10 minutes. Very nice tech came out. Efficient. Asked about the car and the battery. Told her it had never been replaced. Tested it and told me it was time to replace the battery. She told me it was the original battery and it wasn't putting out the required amps. Thank goodness because I was hoping it wasn't the alternator or the starter. She replace the battery and tested it. All in all the whole process 20 mins. The best part, they sent the battery test report of the old battery and new battery to my email. read more

Auto Guardian Towing seems like they do a good job with gas cars but unfortunately in towing our leased electric car using a wheel lift tow truck, caused severe damage to our car. read more

This review is for Raymond the tow truck driver. Does everybody love Raymond? I do (along with the three other occupants of my stranded car.) AAA - screw you! After two hours of waiting and effing everything up, out of the darkness appeared Raymond. Let's rewind back to the drive to Oakland. I was headed to Oakland for dinner and a concert (with my wife, mom and pops) when my car made a weird sound. Long story short, a recent brake job left a bolt loose that made braking or driving impossible (glad we didn't die in a fiery wreck!) Fortunately, I was able to pull off the freeway at the West Grand Ave. off-ramp and park next to the sound wall - safely (I used the parking brake to help!) After waiting two hours for AAA (and calling multiple times to AAA), Raymond pulled up behind my busted ride and offered his assistance. He was not dispatched on my ticket, but stopped to check things out anyway. When I described what had happened and explained to him that we were supposed to attend a concert at the Fox theater, he quickly instructed us to hop in his tow truck and promised to get my car towed to my mechanic in Dublin. AAA gave us the run-around big-time, but Raymond never wavered. He indeed made good on his promise and got us to the concert on time and later made the haul from Oakland to Dublin where my car was delivered to the mechanic. So, here's to Raymond...5 stars! If you ever have a breakdown, flat tire, accident or other issue, you'll be VERY lucky to have this towing company called by AAA, but more important, if you have their driver Carleton come help. Rainy, major busy street, upset driver (me) and unknown sudden problems required a tow. Thorough, very prompt and courteous and calming. He got me home and dropped me off and proceeded to take my car into Honda service. Unpleasant day made a bit easier by someone who is proficient in what he does, but also exceeding pleasant. got a tow from Auto Guardian via AAA. though it took almost an hour for them to arrive, (actually 30-45 minutes). it always seems forever) the time was within the hour they initially estimated. 4.5 stars -got text message and phone call estimating when they would arrive. -tried to remedy problem (ignition wouldn't ignitiate) when they arrived -hooked up car in a jiffy when car still wouldn't start. -got my car to a garage in minutes -shook my hand and wished me "good luck" when he departed. thanks i needed that. was his name "gus?" didn't read his name tag or receipt given. best class towing i've ever had. read more

I was recently in a 12 car accident caused by speeding big rig and Julian was the driver from Auto Guardian that towed my smooshed car after the accident and brought it to their lot. My car is totalled and the whole accident was nerv wrecking, but Julian and everyone that I met at the lot that day were very sweet and helpful and made the experience a little less painful. My all wheel drive jeep needed to be towed the other day. Usually they send a flat bed truck. But this time Jose, showed up in a wheel lift. Now, I know a little bit about towing. As I am also in this line of work. After I informed him of the AWD. He responded with, and I quote, ' That's ok, I have dollies. ( which was the special equipment required to tow my vehicle with a wheel lift.) If it's okay with you (Which it was.) I can take care of it. Seroun Mei Mei Wang June 6 near Chevy Chase Last Friday after my Stanford trip I went to visit friends in Oakland which by the way is a beautiful city. Well forgot my keys in Peter and Marjorie's house. Quelle catastrophe!!! I have learned to not get upset in such situations or you won't be able to find "ban Fa" (a Chinese expression that loosely translated means solution). I knew first of all that the keys weren't lost but misplaced, and 1 I had to get both of you out of the picture and manage on my own which is what I do best. Having hysterics stops the flow of banfa. Well I called the AAA and a flat bed came that couldn't fit into the garage so he called a tow truck. Turned out to be one of the nicest and smartest persons I ever knew. I gave him a $60 tip. He was from Auto Guardian Towing at 3400 Ettie St, Oakland, CA and I'm not sure, but I think his name is Carleton. I took his picture but lost the phone in all the excitement so no longer have this precious memory. The narrative goes like this: He drove carefully down the driveway and hooked up the car, opened it and the alarm went off. He managed that. He then proceeded to bring the car up the exit ramp and it was too low. We couldn't get out. He said he had to leave it there and I would have to call Budget to get the key. Then I said why not try the entrance ramp because he got down it. Well he maneuvered around and to my dismay we were going backwards up the entrance ramp with him hanging out the sid of the truck and foot inside on the gas peddle. I had to go look for the guan li ten and finally found him. He was waiting at the exit ramp and we were at the entrance ramp. The sign of high intelligence is to be able to think outside of the box. And boy were we doing that. When we got out on the street, I said I can't believe you did that and he said I can't believe he did that either. I asked him how he learned to drive a truck like that and he said on his father's lap since he was three years old. His mother let him drive the car to the store when he was 6. It was a stretch but he reached over the wheel and could see as he had his legs on the gas pedal. I'm a firm believer in natural intelligence and this Carlton hit the jackpot. I am writing a letter to his company to laud him but don't know of a great name call him, like target driver. Right on Driver, Miracle driver,. If you can help me think of a name I would appreciate it. I want to send his trucking company a note to tell them of this Miracle Man. Can any of you help me give a groovy name to this guy? Just received a tow tonight from Ed at Auto Guardian. Not only did they dispatch fast (on Martin Luther King Jr's birthday, even), Ed was friendly and helpful. The entire experience from pick up to drop off happened in under an hour and Ed even offered me some spots to check out in Oakland, me being new to the area. Yesterday morning I pulled over up on Grizzly Peak, at one of the turnouts, to take a picture and my car never started again. I had to get to work, so the car would have to wait until later. Hours later, I call AAA and go up to wait beside my car. If you're not familiar with Grizzly Peak and it's little viewing spots, it's challenging to describe and to grasp. Our poor driver was not familiar with the area, in fact, he'd never been up there before. But he diligently kept driving around, going on instinct, to find us. Ultimately, he did find us but the challenges of this tow were not over yet. By now the sun had set and there were many youngsters parked up at this spot, hanging out. Plus, my car was parked in an extremely awkward position for him to latch on to it. I thought I was just pulling in and pulling right back out... Long story short, Alex Frasier was patient, kind and knowledgeable. He talked to people with respect and confidence, Cars were moved out of the way and even in the dark of night he got my car hooked up with ease. He was off the clock by this point, but never was exasperated or impatient, I only know this because his wife justifiably called wondering where he was. I truly can't say enough about this man. He was positive, which help to ease my husband and I's mind, and he instilled confidence that he could get my car out of this messy spot without a problem, and he did. in the midst of, in my opinion, a bleak situation he was exactly what we needed.
