I came to Auto Performance Center for an overheating issue and an incorrect temperature-gauge reading. I was told the temperature sensor was the problem, so I paid to have it replaced. Unfortunately, about two weeks later, the gauge began giving incorrect readings again. I also had concerns about the pricing. The amount I was charged did not match the price I had been quoted the previous day. The manager acknowledged the earlier quote and instructed that it be honored, but the adjustment I received still did not appear to match what I had been quoted. No kidding, I was given back 10 cents. I felt the pricing for the non-oem parts and labor (including additional work on the serpentine belt and belt tensioner) was higher than expected. When I returned because the temperature gauge was malfunctioning again, I was then told it was a cluster gauge issue. That possibility had not been mentioned during the original repair. Since I had returned with essentially the same symptom shortly after the initial repair, I expected the shop to perform another diagnostic and determine whether the original diagnosis or repair was related to the continuing problem. However, I left without the original gauge issue being resolved and without a clear explanation of what had caused the problem or what responsibility the shop was willing to take regarding the previous repair. I understand that running an automotive repair shop can be difficult and that diagnosing vehicle problems is not always straightforward. My concern is primarily with the combination of pricing discrepancies, the changing diagnosis, and the lack of resolution when I returned under warranty with the same symptom. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Auto Performance Center, and I would not return for future repairs. It's been a almost a month since leaving my car to get fixed from a hit and run accident and nothing has been done to my car just passed by and they lied to me acting and saying they are working on the car but just waiting on the door still. I have till Thursday with covered insurance car rental and there's no way my car will be out by then. I have talked to them and said understood my situation but how when your lying straight to me over the phone. Financially after March 2 I will no longer have a car rental and I can't afford to pay on my own. I have a job I also need to get to. If this accident would've been my fault I wouldn't be posting but it is not and how long the car is taking is ridiculous. My insurance will not do more extensions I have done everything in my reach. This company provided me with excellent body shop work, for a very good price, compared with an estimate that I received from a competitor. However, on the mechanical side, I am convinced that they overcharged me. I needed a grill shutter actuator, #Toyota 88940-33060. Per Leith Toyota's website, they offer it for $283.75. Auto Performance Center charged me $565.20. Cost of parts and labor to replace this part: $875.78. I think that's excessive. read more

its been a minute since "the incident" where extremely offensive language was posted. my positive reviews have gotten some shocked reactions. tbh, i wasnt aware of that when i had posted my review, and tbh, im grateful for a few reasons so many folks marked it with shocked reactions. number 1 reason is that that behavior, even tho the two employees that could be heard on the video, i really didnt like, and fwiw the female was the less bullheaded of the two, and they were imo toxic in terms of customer service and attitude, still, i was quite frankly disgusted/shocked/baffled that theres still people in this world that think and act like that, and that these two as professionals would conduct themselves that way. it explains a lot about how i felt dealing with them. i really liked Performance Auto back before those two employees, it used to be a great place. i hope the owners realize they made a bad choice with those two employees whove been manning the phones and front desk the last couple years. not just for their choice of words. their attitudes were trash. they didnt advocate for customers, they didnt make customers feel like they cared - i had multiple incidents i had to practically talk to my higher power/therapist/reach deep into my soul on how to deal with them without triggering their tendency to want to have customers go eff themself. it should not be THAT hard to deal with your customer facing staff. id have to guess your mechanics have better customer service skills than them. i dont know what you THOUGHT they were good at, but it wasnt making customers want to bring cars back, i can tell you that. i NEVER felt that way when DON was running the shop. Don's the only reason i even brought my cars there after he left, and those two Jamie and i believe Carlos didnt have a 10th of the customer service Don had. Hire another Don. The only reason i left a positive review is in hopes it would lubricate some tough situations I had dealing with Jamie and Carlos. Now that the cats out of the bag, im so disgusted with how they treated members of our community and your customers, it makes me wonder what they chuckled at me about, that if they are still there i would vomit taking my car there, and if theyre not there, i have no reason to need to kiss their butts to get them to treat me fairly. so thats my honest review. really hope the owners take notice. while the racism is horrible and i feel for those harmed and offended by it, that, is just the tip of the iceberg. that is how those two treated your market, with contempt. if i do wonder back in there with a car in the future, i know enough from this fiasco to have learned that if i even get one hair on my neck that makes me feel like you dont have honest respectful staff, that i should run far away, cause who knows what people who shouldnt be in customer service really think and say, about those who bring them business and put food on their plates. read more

I've visited this business several times for regular maintenance and repair. The service has always been fantastic. The wonderful woman in the office is friendly, knowledgeable, and very easy to work with. The mechanics are thorough, extremely knowledgeable, and straight forward without trying to up-sell you at every turn. This is the type of garage I grew up around. The money seems to go toward hiring highly qualified people, and not toward making the garage look trendy or sporty. If my mom lived in this area, Auto Performance Center is where her car would go. Would not recommend. Very poor service. They repaired my vehicle three times and still could not correct the problem. Owner/Manager Steve Ward said he used defective parts and refused to refund my money ( $1,988 ) I filed a complaint in small claims court and was awarded a judgement for what I paid them plus court cost. I also complained to BBB and State Attorney General. This company has refused to accept responsibility for their incompetence and has not made any effort to comply with the court order to refund my money. This was clearly a rip off. Ex wife took daughters car for inspection. Was told car needed a head gasket instead and couldn't be inspected. Daughter brought car to me and I had the head gasket replaced(mechanic saw nothing wrong but I told him to do it anyway to be safe),along with the timing belt and tensioner,radiator,thermostat,hoses,water pump,spark plugs,spark plug wires,antifreeze,oil changed and more. Saw the work done myself and got the old parts returned. Ex took car back to APC again for inspection and again they told her more work needed done(including a head gasket still). In exasperation she told them to just get it to pass inspection. They then proceeded to replace the new parts that had just been installed along with another oil change and antifreeze change(all just done by a different mechanic-have the receipts and original parts) and ran the bill up into the hundreds$$$$$. And they said it still wouldn't pass inspection. Then my ex couldn't afford the bill and they kept the car until my daughter(a part time working first year college student) could make payments to get the car back. She immediately brought the car and receipt to me with tears in her eyes-from anger!!! She saw that EVERYTHING on the bill was EXACTLY some of the same parts and labor that had just been done- she had even made trips to the auto parts store to buy the parts for the mechanic!! I got the car checked again- now there are O2 sensor codes that weren't there before. I get new O2 sensors to get them replaced. Upon the mechanic starting to replace them,he finds the current O2 sensors have been loosened and have bad electrical contact. He says they are probably fine and speculates on why they were loosened. The next day I went to APC to talk and hopefully get a refund. I Calmly explained the situation and asked for the refund-I voice recorded the conversation to prove (I remained calm in case there was trouble. ) The service manager on duty pointed out the big husky mechanic and basically left it for me if I wanted to approach him about the charges. I instead told him I just want the bill refunded and it'd be over. The service manager said he could not give away the shop owners money,it would be up to the shop owner. (Wasn't this my daughters money?? Not the shop owners?) I left my name and number and was told he would contact me. 2 weeks later and no contact at all. So I call them. And it goes to voicemail.(caller ID at work?) I leave a message saying who I was and why I was calling and that the owner still hadn't contacted me. It's been over a month now...... Still NOT A SINGLE CONTACT NOR REFUND. FOR UNNEEDED PARTS AND LABOR. APC HAS LOST ALL RESPECT AND POSSIBLE FUTURE BUSINESS FROM THIS FAMILY. read more

My daughter has a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire. It was losing coolant and trying to overheat. I took it to one national chain and the told me it needed a radiator and would run around $1,000 to do the work. I took it here and they pressure tested the system and said the radiator appeared to be fine. Instead they replaced some old hoses worn through years of service, put in a new thermostat also, re-pressure tested the system to make sure everything was good and running well. It ran me around 1/3 the cost of the other places estimate. From dealing with the person behind the counter taking calls to talking with the mechanic, they couldn't have been nicer. read more
