They offered to fix the mirror (great!), went back to pick it up a week later and the mirror was brown/gold and clearly a different color than the original mirror. So now I have two mirrors that don't match. So I ask them to fix this with two mirrors that match, another week passes and finally get the car. I thought ok they finally fixed it, we can move on & all is well. Then, this week I get a notice of an unpaid ticket in the mail and the street markings/date are while this car was at this shop. They parked it during street sweeping and didn't bother paying the ticket or telling me about it. So now I'm stuck with a ticket, a mirror that still doesn't quite match the other one, and a month of a hassle over getting..an oil change.

I woke up to my car not starting on a recent Friday morning when the temp dropped into the low 40's...called AAA who told me it was likely the starter as opposed to the battery. As I'm new to the city, I put in a search on yelp and was contacted by multiple mechanics nearby (I'm in Jackson Heights) and requested a quote for pricing--both parts and labor, as well as the turnaround time--and Aegean was by far the best all-around. They were right on top of the correspondence, going back-and-forth with all of the details promptly and were able to secure the part, take in and run full diagnostics on my vehicle, and make the necessary repairs (including securing a new battery which I did not originally have as part of my request) within hours. We started talking around noon or so, and by 5:30, I was on my way home with everything done. They also tipped me off to some other work that I was going to need on the car in the near future regarding the tires, telling me exactly when and why I should be pursuing that work and justifying the need by showing me the tread markings as opposed to just simply claiming work needs to be done like some shops will do. You can tell they are not just about the bottom line, but really want to help out and retain their customers by presenting quality work to be done at the best price possible, which again is rare for a mechanic. They are conveniently located near the 59th Street bridge/off Northern Blvd. They also don't mind working on late model cars and my Volvo S70 is kept in good repair, though on more than one occasion the guys at BKM have given me solid advice & saved me money on repairs not needed.
