At Christian Brothers, I went for a routine oil change and they completed an in-depth inspection to let me know about my vehicle's health. They didn't pressure me into any services, it was such a breath of fresh air! Their lobby is extremely clean and welcoming, with snacks and drinks available while you wait. They also offer a courtesy shuttle if you don't want to wait. Schaefer Automative gives that old school vibe. Checkered-pattern floors with the red and black diner sofas. When it comes to service, Steven is great with listening to what you need done to your vehicle, even if you are not car smart. His customer service is the same over the phone as it is in-person. I was allowed to speak my thoughts and expectations with the technician working on my car. Mark was receptive and willing to take the time to talk with me about everything concerning my car and even the culture of the businesses. Schaefer Automotive cares about their customers and the service they provide. The only downside is you have to make an appointment well in advance....because everyone likes to come here! I recently had to get an oil change all by myself, and although I was embarrassed for feeling so clueless, the employee who worked on my car (I think his name was Blake??) was truly incredible and instantly put me at ease. They apologized for my wait and explained that they were understaffed, but I didn't mind waiting at all because everyone was so nice! I drive an older Volvo, and resetting the oil change maintenance light is sometimes a bit tricky to figure out. Blake attempted to reset mine and said he wasn't sure how, but he immediately took out his phone and looked up a YouTube video to learn. Seriously so courteous!! They replaced the muffler and "fixed" the check engine light. About 2 months later the check engine light came back on. She took it back and they said something just needed to be tightened, charging a nominal fee. a month after that, the car wouldn't start, the check engine light was back on, and the vehicle needed a new battery, alternator and serpentine belt. When they replaced the old weights, they slapped new weights on top of the old adhesives. They also did not align the new tires. I purchased the tires through another site, so I would have picked a different installer if I knew what I do now. Go to a dealership instead.
