I came here for an oil change and will be back. Great service, I was in and out in 20 minutes. Service: I use 0w-20 synthetic oil and the price was reasonable. Compared to Jiffy Lube, I saved almost $30. I asked him which synthetic oil he used for my car and he was knowledgeable and educated me on the differences between which brand they use. Ambiance: There is a small waiting room (the size of a kitchen maybe), that had television and was on a channel people actually watch. There is also water if you need refreshments and about 6-7 chairs. Location: It is on a busy intersection, but when you pull up to the shop, they have their own parking lot, so there is plenty of space to safely walk around and park your car. You can see your car from the waiting room, which is nice. Overall, happy with my service. read more

I came here for an oil change because of the YELP 5 star YELP reviews, All of the great YELP reviews were spot on! The owner (Steve) was very friendly and customer service oriented. He took me in at 4:40 pm and they close at 5:00 pm! My car uses 0W-20 synthetic oil and Steve's prices were super reasonable. A competitor up the street was going to charge me $25 more!! Steve had me in and out in about 20 minutes! It was a comfortable 20 minute wait - he had netflix on his waiting room tv and it had the various genres depending on who was there (even a kids channel)...anyhoo...he switched it onto the movie Hansolo and before I knew it, he was done! The waiting room was clean; there was a water dispenser; and it was air conditioned. If you pull up to his building, please note that there are actually two shops - the one on the right is a smog shop. Steve's shop is on the left hand side. Before today, I've only ever gone to Auto Stop for oil changes. Which by the way, they have the most affordable oil changes I've ever heard of! They basically do walk-in services so some days there may be a longer wait than others. Today I came in to do a check up on my car to see if there were any parts that need replacing. Steve was very thorough with what was going on with my car and didnt bullshit me or try to upsell. How do I know? Because he actually pointed out the areas and explained to me what the problems were. I've used Auto Stop for mechanic work on several of my older trucks and cars over the past four years and have been satisfied every time. Steve, the owner, has huge integrity. I initially went there on referral after another shop wanted to charge me a price that just seemed to high. I didn't tell Steve that....just reported the symptoms that I'd reported to the first shop. A huge difference between the two quotes.....HUGE! Auto Stop has been my "go to" shop every since and it's quite a drive from North Natomas to South Sac. but well worth it! Look at their shop......it's very clean, neat and orderly.....especially for an older building. That speaks to how Steve runs that business. Give them a try and you'll not be sorry. I've also found a couple other closely guarded secreats in that part of Sacramento. We Do It Hand Car Wash on Stockton Blvd. just north of 47th Ave. $8 for the exterior (including wheels). So for less than $20 (a couple bucks for tip) I get interior and exterior done. Willy, the wax guy will wax it for $25! And then there's the Taco Truck diagonal across the intersection, on 47th Ave. just west of Stockton Blvd......the best tacos in Sacramento, bar none! read more

What really sold us on using Auto Stop for any and all of our future auto repairs has nothing to do with repairs they did (they were done perfectly) , but they worked overtime to get our job done so that our Grand Daughter could take her drivers test at the DMV the following day. My girlfriend found this shop on yelp after the frustration of going to two shops before it. I came in for an alignment 10mins before they closed, they took my car to the lift right away. They showed me some issues with my tie rod, so decided to have them fix it the next day (today) along with alignment. I went in the morning and Kevin fixed the tie rod, alignment, and subframe. I came in yesterday to Auto Stop recommended by my tire shop when I called and asked for a new tire quote. I was in need of new tires and an alignment. Since Auto Stop closes at 5:00 pm and I get out class around 4:00 pm, I got out of class a little early and rushed over because my alignment was way off and I wanted to get that done before they closed. I get there and was welcomed by a very nice man who I can only assume was the owner/manager. I asked for an alignment and he said it would take about 45 minutes. I had the time, and like I said I needed an alignment so I agreed to get it done. A few minutes later he comes back and to my horror says "We have a problem, the mechanic that did work on your car did not tighten the bolts of your rack and pinion, and one is missing. I advise you not to drive your car because chances are you will loose control." He told me that I needed to take it back to the original mechanic who had done the job and ask them to fix it. Well, that was not an option as the mechanic was three hours away!! Long story short. He went far and beyond to help me get the bolt I needed in order to do the full alignment. He also found another bolt that was loose by my tire, and if damage had not been done then all that would be needed to be done would be to just tighten it. He was very honest from the beginning and I am so appreciative that he was willing to help me correct someone else's work/errors. He was very knowledgeable and was careful to explained everything thoroughly every step of the way and answer any questions that I had. My car felt like a new car after it was done, and I felt comfortable knowing that I was safe. I am college student and I commute from Galt to Sacramento EVERYDAY so it was very important to me to get my car ready and going. In the process of it all I did not get the owner's name, but like I said it was a very stressful situation and I was nervous knowing that I had been driving an unsafe car, but I coming in next week for an oil change. :) If you are thinking about coming in for an oil change, alignment, AC, etc., JUST COME IN. They were really friendly. Things run smoothly, no games or gimmicks. Super honest. Excellent work. Reasonable prices. Excellent customer service.
