******BUYER BEWARE***** My BMW brake pads were installed upside down. I left my vehicle for 11 days so that it could get brake pads and rotors in the front (the pads had 50% life) but the rotors needed changing as my steering wheel shakes while braking, and oil change, brake fluid flush, and my passenger restraint system light was on. I received one call telling me there was a diagnostic charge for the airbag of $125. Fine. I get a call back with the quote and also telling me the diagnostic of the airbag was there was a bulletin out and it was warranty and they would get my car to bmw and have it complete upon my return. Fabulous! Well I never got a call, my car never made it to BMW. I never got a call back and no one answered on Saturday even though the hours on their site day open. I get my car the next day and my brakes are squeaking (they were not squeaking when it was dropped off)... I waited 3.5 hours for him to clean the disgusting dust off my wheels and new pads and they still squeaked. I brought my car to BMW for the airbag issue and had them check my brakes to find out they were installed wrong. See video link from BMW at the end of the review.. I am a easy to please customer, I drive a high end vehicle to avoid this type of service from a repair shop and receptionist. I tried to amicably resolve this with them by sending the video and my invoice from BMW but they refused... even though I was told they were factory BMW parts, the dealership confirmed they are not. The owner John seemed like a nice guy but he isn't. When I was purchasing a 2016 Chevrolet Trax, he told me that ALL of the cars he sells come with 6 months Sirius XM trial (this was not the case). I called John a week later and told him there is no Sirius XM in the Trax I purchase from him. When I called him, he said the people who get the 6 months Sirius XM trial already have Sirius XM installed (*That is not what he told me when I purchased the vehicle). We had the worst experience possible and I would never recommend anyone going to Auto Trade Corporation. We initially went because of the reviews that were not as terrible as others in the industry - but we were so wrong. We thought Jon was such a "nice" guy when we met him and he quickly gained our trust - our first mistake. So we purchased a BWM for our daughter for $17,000 and specifically asked Jon about the condition of the brakes and tires, and we asked the oil was last changed. We were told that the oil was recently changed "we change the oil on all cars that we sell" and that the brakes and tires each had at least six months of wear remaining "or we cannot legally sell the car in NY State." Well one week after purchase, the car failed its emission inspection because the tires were not drivable (the tire wear could not be seen without putting the car on a lift). We then brought the car to our mechanic who told us the oil hadn't been changed in at least a year and that all four brake pads and rotors were completely shot and needed to be replaced. So the $17,000 car turned into a $20,000 car. Lies, lies and more lies from Jon- an absolutely awful experience. read more

Long Overdue review of this business. I found these guys to be helpful. I went in looking for help and found it. I arrived in NY from Australia and needed to get a family vehicle arrange asap. Jon and his guys helped me get a vehicle sorted for my family and made the process as smooth as could be reasonably expected. A few minor issues came up in the first few weeks and to their credit they took the vehicle back from me and put them right. Bottom line is buying used cars from anywhere is always a risk. Jon was extremely nice but this was not a good experience. The suv had a few minor problems which were to be expected on an older vehicle. He fixed one thing, and told me to purchase the car and let the warranty pay for the rest - not very reassuring. When I test drove it, it seemed pretty much OK. As soon as a few drives were put on it, it would smoke horribly upon startup. My mechanic said I should return the truck. That was not going to be a possibility, so I had to deal with it. It also had an open recall. Unfortunately, my truck was totaled 2 weeks after buying it. It was parked - I was not in it. Since it was within the 30 day period I called the warranty company to cancel the warranty - which is allowed with full refund. The warranty company sent the check to the dealership - he sat on my 2700 for almost 3 weeks. Had I not been following up with the warranty company, not sure what would have happened. He also hinted at keeping his commission on the warranty, which was clearly not appropriate. In the end, I got my money for the warranty. Just a very uneasy experience all around. read more

Great place if you are willing to get scammed, 2 different purchases, 05/2021 bought a audi A6 from them, got the service contract as suggested by them, vehicle had so many suspension issues, traded vehicle for a "better car" got involved in a s63 Mercedes, so many problems with it, no tires, no brakes, dealer provided a $200 brake pads and rotors that will not stop the vehicle at all, really dangerous, first week, suspension broke down, second week, major coolant leak, overheated, service contract price $1900 and couldn't used because i wasn't registered to it, title arrived and vehicle was a buy back, lemon law vehicle, value of vehicle dropped significantly and lost $17000 on vehicle, never received a signed statement indicating title condition, lost money on both service contracts, they say i had 30 days to cancel otherwise not refundable, called warranty company and they say, check has been sent back to selling dealer, so they took my money and got denied in my face, total scam, i wouldn't recommend to anyone to purchase a vehicle ant trust in their word, pay extra money getting full reports and don't loose $20k like i did. really bad service read more

Paid for a 1998 VW Beetle: $5200 - under the condition that the radio didn't work - upon receipt of the car - it starting over heating - I didn't trust these people - so I bought it to my town mechanic where he diagnosed that it needed a new water pump - he informed me that if we replace the water pump - it would be a good idea to replace timing belt @ the same time - I called Auto trade & informed them of my town mechanics diagnosis & Auto trade said they would replace the water pump but I had to pay for timing belt because there was nothing wrong w/the timing that was in there- I agreed and paid for the timing belt - the day after I got it back from Auto Trade - it was over heating again - I brought to a VW specialist called Ralstons in Fairfield - they diagnosed that the car had an anti freeze leak, it needed a new micro switch & a radiator - I called Auto trade and informed him of these problems - he said that my town mechanic had mis-diagnosed the problem & that that's not Their fault - they fixed what my mechanic said was wrong & its not their problem - I told him that if my mechanic had mis-diagnosed it - then your mechanics should have caught that problem when I bought it back(I think they new what was wrong but was mad about me bringing it to my mechanic in the first place - so they said screw it & just fixed what my mechanic said to) When Ralstons looked at my water pump they pulled me aside & asked if Auto Trade charged me for a new water pump - I said "yes" and they showed me the "new" water pump - it was NOT new, it was rusted and corroded & had a plastic top - the mechanic said this is OBVIOUSLY NOT NEW - he said it was on older style water pump & that the new ones were all metal - when I popped the hood & it was rigged with a coat hanger - Trunk pop & gas door pop button doesn't work - when I pressed the button it fell through the door when I pulled back up - it was un-secure & many wires were exposed - The roof of the car is completely deteriorated. I had to staple the roof liner so it doesn't hang down & expose the gross yellow foam behind it. The lights for the air controls don't work. When my car was over heating - I pulled it over to the side of the road only to find my headlight hanging out by a wire & the light socket was lined with duct tape. My cup holders in the front and back fall out continuously, the tabs on the bottom of the cups were broken. The window button for the passenger side was damaged also, if you press on it - it sticks out & almost falls off. The MPH gage is broken - will not go over 70 MPH sometimes. - Im a 27 yr old independent woman - I am not rich and this car put me 5k in the hole - my savings COMPLETELY GONE - the owner of the Nanuet Auto Trade named "John" cared less & told me: "its not my problem, deal with it". Jon will talk to you like you are a friend, and then lie directly to your face. He will temporarily rig cars so they function well on the test drives, but they will need thousands of dollars worth of repair within two weeks after you drive your car home. Please, please save yourself a huge amount of stress and DO NOT EVEN THINK about buying a car from this place. This man's lies have broken my bank account and caused me months of worry. I come from a very hardworking family. My father built his business from the ground up, works hard every day of his life, genuinely cares about his clients, and has been extremely successful. He has proven to me that there are ways to make a great living without lying, stealing, and cheating like Jon from Auto Trade Corp. John seemed nice. He is good what he does and says. I purchased a Benz that turn out to be a nightmare with many hidden unstated problems. Yes it was part my fault because I purchased it. It looked real nice. I was genuine with my money, and desire for a used car. John kept hidden problems from me, just to put money in his pocket. So many thousands of dollars later chasing repairs, transmission, Cat converters, electrical, computer, I decided to give the car away and ship it to my Son in Ca. If you are selling cars for years at a family owned business, you know very much about different used cars. You also know how to band aid all problems just to make that sale. I just threw away about 10,000.00 dollars just a mere 6 months of owning it. I am still paying it off to protect my credit. Yes sold as is is one thing. Originally I would have given Jon 5 stars. He was great selling the car. Everything was done smoothly and quickly. 2012 Corvette. However the downfall came 2 months after purchase. The clutch master cylinder went bad in the car after about 1100 miles. Since the car was under the 3month, 3 thousand mile warranty I called Jon and left a message. He called me back. He told me the clutch wasn't covered. I said I know that, but it was the master cylinder not the clutch. Same as a master cylinder for the brakes. He said he would call me back in a half hour, That was 3 weeks ago!!!. I had the car towed and Healy brothers fixed it. $684 out of pocket. They told me that they cover the master cylinder under the 3m,3k warranty. Also got same response from Exclusive motorsports, It would be covered. So this leaves a bad taste in my mouth.Jon could have had a customer for life, but blew it over a few hundred dollars. The sale was great, the service afterwards was not. read more

Bought a car from this place 6 months ago, traded in a Porsche for a BMW as I could no longer use a clutch because of knee problems. I agree with Steve P in that John seems very nice, and I truly think he knows cars after being in the industry for 2 decades. He had his mechanic working on an oil leak the morning of pickup. John said he only sells cars that are road worthy and didn't want oil leaking all over my driveway. I laughed and appreciated that. As I watched the mechanic struggle to put the parts back in and needing John's help with a engine diagram photo from his phone, I got a little worried, but who in their profession knows everything about everything, right? Well, 6 months later, the car is being sold for scrap and parts after I refused to put in any more money into this piece of junk. By the way, that oil leak he supposedly had fixed- oil droppings all over my driveway and anywhere else I park. Motor mounts, exhaust system and bolts, window regulator and motor, water pump, thermostat, all 4 brakes and rotors. Refused to spend any more money on 2 broken axle boots, moon roof motor, lean running condition which has to be diagnosed and then fixed- I could go on and on. I understand that buying a used car means some money will need to be spent on wear and tear items that the previous owner left for the next owner, but this is ridiculous. I went to him to drop off the 1st of 6 payments on Sept 10th or11th and told him about a couple of things I had to do to the car and he sounded surprised and then brushed off my statement as basically used cars always need a little work. Even if you want to give the benefit of the doubt that some of these problems went undetected by him or his team, I think most rational and, logical people will find it very difficult to believe that so many problems were simply unknown. So, I have a great new 2012 car from a big name dealer instead of some private dealer on the side of the road with a 12 month warranty and couldn't be happier. Other than trading the car (Porsche) that was a boyhood dream to own and throwing away $9700 on car and repairs- which would be more if I fixed everything! So, yeah, I'm REALLY happy I went to Autotrade Corp. Stop selling junk- you have Coattis repair as your next door neighbor- fix the cars right and sell them for a bit more. People will pay a fair amount for quality. read more
