I called Auto Werkstatt to get a repair estimate for my BMW. I spoke with John the owner and after talking with him about replacing my steering rack/programming it I scheduled the appointment. He exceeded my expectations by doing a great job and finished replacing the steering rack a couple of days earlier then estimated. While talking with John I found out that he actually was trained in Germany at BMW by a master mechanic at the school. This really made me feel confident knowing that John has the training and equipment to handle any size job on BMW's and Mini Coopers as well as a variety of German made cars. Also his prices are very reasonable. He took time to explain the scope of the work needed to repair my car and gave me a estimate that I was more than happy to pay. I've been back recently to have a brake fluid change on my 535i and my wife has brought her bmw X4 to have it serviced. Take your car somewhere better, especially if you have a BMW. Came to this shop to diagnose misfire & lean mixture codes, along with power management codes on my F82. After the diagnosis process they urged me to do a compression test & borescope; I pushed back asking if it would be better to check out air/fuel first considering the compression test would add an extra $1k that I did not feel was necessary. They stated that their "Master tech" was the one looking at it and they wouldn't just throw something out. Sure enough, borescope + compression test came back fine and nothing related to the misfire & air issue I was having. They said that when unplugging the MHD chip I had in, the car drove perfectly, with no misfires or codes. Took it home and the car is still misfiring and has lean mixture codes... $1,340 to unplug an MHD chip & "diagnose" the car by recommending services to charge you more. Only thing that came back was a small amount oil that was leaking from the valve cover that was on the THREAD of the spark plug, according to these guys that COULD be the cause for the misfire and needs a $5,600 charge to fix. Took it to a shop in Lynnwood this morning and they have already ruled out the valve cover, which this shop thought "could" be the cause. When bringing this up to them, I was left on read. We took our mini cooper in to receive a new clutch. They offered us a loaner car while they did our repair. Shortly after receiving our car back, we started hearing a terrible sound while you let off clutch. I called and spoke with Ron who was less than helpful. Suddenly, no loaner car was available. I asked to schedule it when it was available and still no loaner was available. Why would they accomplish that after they received the $5000 for the clutch replacement. Shortly after that we had a complete brake failure. Turned out they didn't secure a line that eventually melted causing total brake failure and we had to use emergency brake to stop car before slamming into someone. They were forced to repair as it was their sloppy work that caused the issue. The terrible sound the clutch was making lead to the car not being able to put in gear. 3 tows later and a bunch of nonsense, lost hours from work, and a general feeling of disgust I recommend you look elsewhere for your car repair needs. Not worth the return trips, Rod's nonsense, and the countless tows you will eventually have to fund. read more

Took my Mini in for what was originally a small valve fix that turned into some major work. John was amazing to work with throughout the whole process. Thanks to his vast knowledge and amazing diagnostic skills we were able to catch a small head gasket leak before it caused major damage later. His pricing is very reasonable.
