This review is long overdue. I needed some new wipers for my car and after looking online to figure out the sizes, I stopped by after work to purchase them. The store was pretty empty except for a few employees. After I got home I tried to install them but just couldn't get it on. I don't know anything about cars but thought installing wipers should be easy enough, but after half an hour of trying I gave up. I took it back a few days later to return them and the person that assisted me, I think his name was Wayne, helped me figure out the issue. Turns out one of the wipers I had purchased did not fit my car. Wayne was very helpful, he found the correct ones and even helped me install them. I visited the Auto Zone in Camarillo and spoke to a lady named Christine. I told her I was told I needed brakes for my car and some oil. Christine suggested I go to Brake Masters and have the brakes checked. This was great advice as I went to Brake Masters and they checked my brakes and said I did not need brakes !!! Two other car places had told me I needed brakes and right away. I did need a serpentine belt and got that. I saved so much money by going to a brake specialist. Christine is a super star as far as I'm concerned. I would have never gone there as I thought they would be very expensive. This Auto Zone has always been great but Christine made my experience so much greater for me. read more

I bought a battery from AutoZone in Camarillo a little over two years ago, and from the start I noticed problems--if my car sat for a few days, the battery would be dead. Today, after leaving my lights on for just 20 minutes, my car wouldn't start. When the tow service arrived, they immediately pointed out that the wrong battery had been installed in my car--wrong amps, wrong terminals, completely incompatible. This battery was purchased and installed by AutoZone. I trusted them to provide the right part and professional service, but instead I was sold the wrong product for my vehicle. I went to Auto Zone due to my brake lights not functioning. The sales man assured me that they had the bulbs but that they could not help me at the moment due to short staffing. However, he said that if I came back after five someone would be able to help me. I returned about eight p m and asked for the bulbs at the cash register. Almost immediately, a young man showed up with a little tool kit in his hand and said I can help you with that. His name was Gabe S and he was friendly, polite, and efficient. Some places immediately freeze up when they see a toddler walk in their store, but they were very nice. My 2017 Kia forte EX battery was intermittent when starting, so did my research in case I had to buy a new battery. Walked in 8:41pm Young gentleman asked me if I needed help, I asked if he could check my battery and see if it was faulty and sure enough it was faulty. I asked if he had time to help swap it for a new battery so we checked what he had in stock and asked me if I a wanted to replace it now or later I said You are Closing soon he said if I wanted to buy it he would do the rest. I tell you Gabriel Sanders the gentleman that literally checked my battery and he swapped it out and I got my core battery credit all under no stress and I left at 8:52pm they close at 9pm... The level of customer service from Jared and Gabe is incredible, I was very impressed even before the mistake was made. I purchased an A/C recharge can and when I got home to use it, the hose wasn't working properly. I went back to the store and Jared realized I was mistakenly recommended the wrong product necessary for my car. He and Gabe were very quick and attentive to correct it and help me with the exchange for the right product. Jared even went as far as to recharge my A/C for me while I was back at the store. Ok so my car broke down while I was visiting in Camarillo, I've gotten help from another parts store in Ventura and had an excellent friendly person but unfortunately mistakes were made in the battery that I purchased in the process my alternator wasn't checked so I thought the problem was fixed when I bought my my day and later that evening, my electrical power steering goes out, and my car acted like it wanted to die due to lack of battery power I was .4 miles away from AutoZone Camarillo at 10 PM and I made the decision to just go for it-try to get to AutoZone Camarillo, so my car would be parked there in the morning Saturday when they opened at 7:30 AM so I could get help. I barely made it to AutoZone in my car died while pulling in front. I spent the night in my car so I got meh quality sleep in about 4 1/2 hours of sleep. So this is where my story gets much better at 7:30 AM I'm parked in front of AutoZone Camarillo. I go inside and the person that helps me as a high school senior by the name of Hayden Hayden is clean cut. He's friendly articulate, intelligent, very customer service centric although young I can tell that I'm with somebody that cares and he's probably competent. As my experience move forward with Hayden, he proved not only to be extremely competent, but to go above, and beyond the highest level of professional, helpful customer service a person could ask for. Initially diagnosed the new battery that I had from a different location today before he said it was low, unfortunately, their OBD two reader had broken and they were awaiting a new one. However, he had a few assessing options. I went above and beyond by using a volt meter to test the alternator directly the output was not to the level it should've been. He was very knowledgeable about this to be honest I hadn't had an alternator break down on me in a couple decades so I couldn't remember what it should be and so forth due to his troubleshooting efforts and effectiveness and knowledge, we narrowed down the the problem is being an alternator going out. He also swapped out the new battery from the day before from a different location and put a brand new battery and tested it to make sure none of the cells were bad. I knew I was in great shape I bought an alternator I found break masters of Camarillo .3 miles away. I called and spoke with Ray of brake Masters of Camarillo, and they were able to look at my car. Please look at my yelp review of brake Masters of of Camarillo. To me, Hayden is an impressive young person. It's Customer Service was excellent because he actually cares and puts the effort in is the opposite of a check collector. I was able to get my repair done and hit the road Saturday night and get back to the San Francisco Bay area by Sunday afternoon I was curious about this young person because he seemed very mature and was just professionally on and that's when he mentioned he was a senior in high school, and being a parent myself I was curious about his future plans, hopefully including College and he said I want to be an aeronautical engineer well, that didn't surprise me one bit, and I have no doubt that with his character, integrity, work ethic and personality he's going to achieve whatever he sets his mind to and have a great success. I'm grateful that I got him to help me. Another honorable mention who is super personable throughout this process, who came out to contribute his knowledge, and Customer Service was Gabe. He is an impressive young person as well. He's got a very friendly personality and he cares about helping people AutoZone of Camarillo is very lucky to have these two young men be part of their staff if I was a manager and or an owner they would be assets on my team contributing to an excellent culture for my customer base. I hope management and AutoZone gives these guys a raise. They deserve it and I hope if your car breaks down or you need help go to AutoZone Camarillo, you'll be in great hands as I was. Thanks guys for being awesome. You guys figured out the problem and made the process. As easy as could be, given the circumstances a car breaking down to any degree is never convenient, and sometimes worse than others, as mine was visiting from out of town. I was sold an old/returned core instead of a refurbished brake booster that I ordered. This mistake cost more time and money than I would have spent (trouble shooting then having to go to a mechanic). I went to return the core I was sold this morning. The managers avoided me. The manager, Anthony, who assisted the sales person that completed my return, wouldn't look at me or acknowledge me. I didn't even get something as simple as, "I'm sorry this happened". I was having a hard time figuring it out in my car because the battery was in a weird place and more involved that simply loosening the connection. I came in here to get my battery charged today. I dropped it off around 1 and came back at 3 to pickup. The person I gave my ticket to, he couldn't find the battery. They asked me what it looked like. They found it. I took it back to my car, tested the battery, and it was still dead. I went back inside and explained this, one employee said that maybe you have a bad battery. I said no it's not bad, it's fairly new. I had just charged it not too long ago. Another employee told me they would charge it again. I come back and the employee who grabbed the battery said he tried to test it on the battery charger but, "the memory was full". So he tested it in from of me. He then said that the battery is not holding a charge and I need a new one. I asked him if there was any way there was something wrong with their machine, they said no. So I took my battery to O'Reilly near the Trader Joe's. Guess what, they charged my battery and it's working fine now. I don't know what the issue was at this autozone, but its clear you should get a second opinion if you go here and they tell you that you have a bad battery and it needs to be replaced. read more
