Came in to look at a new potential vehicle as my lease is up soon. Plugged in my car, and walked up to wait for the next available person. I was there about 5 min, and their charger charged me $50 which is about $45 more than normal. I asked the receptionist to speak to the person that sets the price about the seemingly outrageous price and their manager Katie at first sent them back to tell me it was Chargepoint's fault. I pointed out that I'd already spoken to Chargepoint and was told the dealer sets pricing, at which point the receptionist told me their Katie intentionally set the price that high and wouldn't speak to me face to face. I pointed out they'd lost a customer with this practice, since the screen on the unit doesn't state price prior to charging and the manager was dishonestly blaming Chargepoint when the dealer sets the price. Imagine being willing to blow a car sale in favor of a one time gotcha electric charging fee 10x normal. You should not trust them for your car maintenance because if they are willing to mistreat a potential new customer and sale, what would their service department do once they got your sale already in hand? Then they tried to upsell me $1,400 for a windshield, which was absurd. To make things worse, their tech broke part of my console while the car was in their shop. No ownership, no apology, nothing. And it gets better... Fifty miles down the road toward Los Angeles, the traction control starts acting up. I babied the car all the way to Ventura and pulled into Paradise Chevrolet. They plugged in their diagnostic, fixed the traction control issue quickly, and didn't charge me a dime. That's the difference between a dealership that respects its customers and one that doesn't. I purchased a certified preowned 2021 Buick Encore GX with the Nomad Platinum Protection Plan. Once I said I wanted the car Luis Gonzalez did an excellent job getting my loan and trade-in approved in a single afternoon. I discovered a small dent and scratch near the passenger tail light and Luis made an appointment with their body shop to fix it no charge. My sales rep Arvin was fine but the rest of my experience was terrible. We received the car without the cargo mats or third row mats, I had to bring it up in order to receive them and had to wait over a month for delivery of the parts I was due.... I am STILL waiting! Additionally, Reza (manager) and I shook on an agreed upon price. Little did I know Peter in finance would slip in $2199 extra for the Celajet paint protection into my contract without mentioning a word. We went through every other upgrade like prepaid maintenance, extended warranty, GAAp insurance but NOT the $2199 for the paint protection I never asked for nor was it ever mentioned to me. I found it in my documents after the fact and have been waiting a month for one of the cowards to call me. I spoke with Peter and he said it was Reza or Arvins job to discuss that cost with me which neither did. The lack of spine and integrity ought to make anyone weary about doing business with this dealership. Go to any other dealership but Alexander. After a multitude of excuses between personal issues, busy-ness, turnover amongst staff, I have yet to receive my phone call to discuss this issue. It's been a month!! I've brought my truck to this dealer a few times for general maintenance and warranty repair. Ok service, nothing note worthy. Good or bad. I was in need of an oil change so I made an appointment. A few days before my appointment I had a check engine light come on. I could have run to a parts place and used their code reader for free to check the code but decided to wait till I had my oil changed. HUGE MISTAKE!! They charged me $250 to check the code. No work done, just checking the code! When I asked for an explanation for the absurd charge, they tried saying it was for a professional diagnosis. The same "professional diagnosis" I got when I googled the code. These crooks just lost a customer for life. read more

I know this late review. I had my 2020 Buick Encore in for fluid leak. It started June. First repair cost over 400 dollars, it did not correct the leak , I took back in and they did a pressure check on my SUV . They said did not find a leak. I went home again. My wife told me the Encore was still leaking. I took back met with Isaac At the service office. The shop checked it out. They said hoses needed to replace . He said would cost over700 dollars repair . I talked to him stated that it was same leak I first brought the Encore in for. This was 7/26/2025. Isaac, reduce cost to little over 400 dollars repair. I believe the repair shop missed it first time and second time. They got it right 3rd time, but I believe it cost me extra 400 dollars get the repair shop missed and 2 days without my vehicle. I was obligated to choose ONE STAR because if I didn't, I wouldn't be able to review this Dealership. I am totally dismayed. After 6 years of patronizing Alexanders, I got fed up with their way of doing business. In a manner of speaking, I'm to blame for not opening my mouth sooner. Yes, I realize inflation does it's number on the economy. Yes, Alexanders' must make a profit but NO, not from me (ANYMORE). To be fair, ALEXANDERS is not totally to blame for my negativity. Yet, I can't excuse them either. All this stems from this: I purchased a HIGH-END GMC Denali. Too many machanical issues required attention but the price was excessive. A PROFESSIONAL GRADE, FULL CAB, SIERRA 1500 DENALI, that was more of a luxury, than a necessity (for work), wound up breaking DOWN and getting worse. No one at the Dealership could or would help me. He was fair and honest when we discussed cost of warranties and financing. He went out of his way to make the deal happen. Scam. Beware of extended warranty and repair diagnosis charges. We brought in our GMC Acadia for warranty work and were quoted over $1200 in diagnosis charges (over $250) for each item. These costs are all at our risk with no guarantee that they would be covered if deemed not covered by the extended warranty. We called several other GMC dealers that only charge a single diagnostic fee. This is a money making scam only used by Alexander GMC of Oxnard. Beware and ask them to remove these ridiculous fees. I'm a bit of neophyte to the car-buying experience, but in the past year, I've experienced enough car dealerships to maintain my guard. These guys, however, are really sincere and act in good faith. I first met with Samuel Castro -- a newly minted sales consultant who showed me the car I wanted, and really listened to what my expectations were and bought into my narrative in the sort of car I wanted for my family. After the test drive, I was candid in saying that I wanted to explore some other options (it was black friday so I really wanted to seize the day); I told him I was going to another car dealer and that I would be in touch. The other car dealer -- whose name I will omit, was the opposite -- really greasy and insincere and quite frankly, manipulative. I gave Sam a call indicating Im heading back his way to talk numbers and he generously gave me his time. I worked with him and then Luis, who really acted as a strong advocate for what I could afford, and went back and forth with management -- on a very busy day no less, just to meet me halfway. I'm stubborn and had my own expectations, but having gained clarity about the excellent deal I was given, & getting escalated to Reza, the general manager, I shook hands and worked with Peter, the finance guy who streamlined the whole process, taking time to listen to my questions and provide me with what seemed to be the optimal package for my situation. The car was prepared while I was signing documents and was in pristine condition. Every single person I have mentioned showed exceptional professionalism and sincerity throughout the entire process, and so I fully endorse and recommend this dealer as a no-nonsense dealership and service center. We were shocked to find they're still pricing way over MSRP prices ($10k on the truck we wanted) but when they really low balled us on our trade in we left. Drove to Thousand Oaks and bought the truck for thousands below MSRP and a very high trade in allowance. Alexander tried to tell us "everybody" was still up marking trucks, which we know is not true. To make long story short, here is what I went through while dealing with Alexander GMC of Oxnard: I called them back in Nov 2021 to see if they can help me with my newly purchased Sierra Denali 1500 fuel tank since my brother mistakenly put ethanol instead of diesel in it. A guy named Nieves answered the phone and said to tow the truck to their location and he can fix it in two days and will cost around a $1,000. I took the truck to them considering its a fair offer BUT it took him one and a half months to fix it for $1800 rather than the $1000 quoted earlier saying that they had to wait for some sensor to be installed which took that long. I was still Okay with it despite the long wait and extra charges but guess what, I drove it just 10 miles and the engine slowed down indicating exhaust problem. I had to take it back again to Mr.Nieves of GMC explaining what just happened. This time he said that he would take care of it properly and after a week of delay he calls me and tells me the good news that it would cost me around Ten Grands to fix the injection pump or something like that and it would require 60hrs of labor. Being left with no other options given the truck is pretty new and third parties could not fix it I agreed to his fees. Finally after a dozen visits and numerous follow ups I got my truck back in March after 4 months of wait and $12 grand in damage payment!!! Shame on your service and customer handling! Worst repair centre I have ever experienced. Highly unprofessional. Its cost me 4 months of lease payment and insurance and more than 12 grands in service fee to get a contaminated fuel tank fixed. They just lie and rip you off. Think twice before going to them or you will also end up losing months of precious time and big dollars. Again Shame on you!! read more
