Went else where and I ended up flushing my coolant system and adding the corrective Honda blue antifreeze, I can see why so many women or men who really do not know anything about vehicles get ripped off! crazy!

Check all fluid levels and tire pressures. Perform basic safety inspection, road test vehicle. I watched the entire process, here is what they did: They changed the oil and filter, maybe checked (some of) the fluids. Nothing else. Most concerning, once they lowered the car off the lift, they started it and DID NOT check the oil level again. Like most shops they pre-measured the oil to add to the car after draining the old oil. This is a fine system as long as you get all the old oil out (spoiler - this doesn't happen as consistently as you might think). Too much or too little oil can have disastrous consequences. After an oil change, you run the car and re-check the level. This is peak half-assedness. I wouldn't come back here again or recommend that anyone does.

Finally brought it to Boxer Motor works (which I should have done in the first place) and he informed me the cat converter was under warranty. He was right. Brought it to my subaru dealership and they fixed it for free. Saved me over $1000. He easily could have not told me it was under warranty and done it himself. Gotta respect that. I'll be bringing my Subaru to him for all future work.

I had one day free before some doctor's appointments, and dreaded trying to get someone to look at my car on short notice, since we have no other car. However, Brian's is nearby, with a good reputation locally, so I drove there when it opened. Despite being booked solid with other work, he took the car in, removed a broken and hanging heat shield from a place where it's not really necessary on a 15-year-old car, charged me nothing, and I was home 20 minutes after I left. It seems clear why they have such a great reputation, and now have a new regular customer. Warm and friendly people, prompt and courteous service, saved me a lot of trouble.
