Andrew took care of my Oil change while the guys were taking care of the rest of the car and helping to tighten a lightbulb that loosened. This situation is definitely needed to be investigated to ensure all clients receive the same level of respect, and applying the same policies and procedures consistently to every customer, and avoiding any form of discrimination or favoritism; essentially treating everyone with fairness and dignity as a customer.

Despite being an "in and out" service, I did NOT feel rushed. I explained to them I had a decent oil leak, but being a 2019 should not be due to wear and tear. They started to investigate and checked the seals. Turns out my oil filter that is exposed to the road via undercarriage, had a small hole in it. The rest of the operation/oil change felt like a military operation (prior service Marine); shouted out what tasks were completed to colleague at the terminal recording results of each stage of oil service. Brandon, Alex, Noah, appreciate you all, thank you for being professional, knowledgeable, and patient with finding the hopeful cause of the leak (update: no leaking since oil change!). FYI: I read a few reviews about Valvoline's pricing. Here's the thing. Yes, it's more expensive than other spots. However, most other places you need to make an appointment, and could wait upwards of 30-90 minutes in a lobby/office for car to be serviced/leave for day. Just understand that accessibility is factored into their pricing. I literally went the day after Christmas with no appointment and was in and out in 15 minutes with peace of mind, and could continue on with the rest of my day without having to make an oil change a whole day ordeal. While the service was being performed, I gave the employee handling the transaction my debit card. Today I went to the Paradise Road location, where I was told I didn't pay for the previous service, which was news to me. I was handed a cell phone with the manager on the other end. He explained to me that I would need to pay for the last service before they could perform any new service. I told him I handed the North Street employee my card. The manager TOLD me I was lying. But THEN he told me he'd check the CCTC cameras and apologize if he found that I HAD given the card to his employee. He accused me of lying absent of proof - he hadn't even checked!! So, with ZERO evidence, he called me a liar. Furthermore, Valvoline company policy is the garage door is not to be opened until the customer has paid (confirmed by staff today). If the staffer didn't run the card at the time, why did they open the door, signalling I could leave? And, if I wasn't charged, it was only because their emplyee didn't run the card. I'm waiting for the manager's call. Regardless of any apology I may or may not get, I do not appreciate being called a liar without a shred of evidence and no person in a managerial position should be so irresponsible as to make that accusation without being 100% certain they were right. In the meantime, there are many other options for an oil change in Salem and I'm guessing they will be more professional than any managed by this irresponsible individual.

Once I frequented this shop more the more the issues came. went to change my exhaust manifold and going to this shop has been the worst mistake I've made. Spend around $260 to get the new gasket and to install $260 is a generous amount for this repair. I got my car back with no gasket and half of my bolts switched out to old rusted bolts basically got switched out for old car parts. The younger guy tells me he changed my gasket initially I couldnt here the noise of broken gasket but after the second time I started my car the sound was back not sure if he just glued the gasket together or what. But that has been the worst job anyone has ever done even after paying $260 he denied me when I went back to get it fixed with out charge couldn't even get a refund for being robbed for my parts. I explained to Dee what we and AAA thought the problem may be (a bad alternator or serpentine belt) and Dee said they would take a look and have it repaired today. He gave me an estimate over the phone and had the car repaired in a few hours at the exact price quoted. It turns out it was a bad alternator, after all. I am so grateful for Dee and his shop for taking my daughter's car in last minute and ensuring she'd have a working vehicle for her first day of senior year of college tomorrow morning. She called AAA, and they were also unable to fill it, so they towed it to Meineke in Beverly. It was near the end of the business day, so she figured they'd get to it the following day. What she didn't know was that the shop would be closed for the following four days. The next morning (before we knew that Meineke was closed), I had called and left a message on their voicemail. Then we learned about the closure, so my daughter started to figure out how to get her car towed elsewhere. However, to my very pleasant surprise, Chris from Meineke called me back. Apparently, he was catching up on some work during the closure, and had a mechanic on emergency standby. I described the situation to him, and he said he'd see what he could do. The next thing we knew, Chris and the mechanic, Paul, had thoroughly checked the bad tire for leaks, checked the valves on all four tires, fixed the valves on two of them, topped off the fluids, and checked and inflated the spare tire in preparation for the long drive ahead. All without requesting any compensation at all, on a day that they weren't even open! This saved my daughter considerable aggravation, time, and money. It was truly above-and-beyond. A heartfelt thank-you to Chris and Paul for helping us out of what was shaping up to be an all-day stress event, and for reminding us that there are such wonderful examples of professionalism and kindness out there.

I gave the shop a second attempt to balance the setup but they failed. Kevin insisted that there was in issue with my wheels and that he sees it all the time. I went to town fair tire, they checked the roundness of both wheels and tires. Town fair tire discovered one of my wheels was out of balance causing issues. $200 wasted and 2 trips back and forth to pickup my car from this place when their tire machine has issues. Before going to town fair tire I ordered a new set of Nokian tires from Sullivan through their call center and was going to mount the new tires on my stock wheels and tires (as suggested by Kevin). 1 day after placing the order I get a call from Kevin saying not to come in for my appointment I setup with the call center, and that Kevin will call me when the tires come in. Well that never happened, it's been 3 weeks, approaching 4 weeks. I've gotten lots of tire services and inspection stickers done at this location and the Watertown location. Paradise was recommended to me by a friend. At the time I needed a new engine and they told me to…read morego somewhere else as they did not do that work. Subsequently I have gone to them for brakes and so has my husband. When I went to them for brakes, I had gone to another mechanic in Marblehead that had told me I also needed struts to the total tune of around $4,000. Paradise negated that but did say I might need them in the future. They also mentioned to my husband that whoever had replaced his brakes the last time had used very cheap ones (again the Marblehead mechanic). I am very happy to have found a mechanic that is competent and trustworthy.
