I own a 2003 Mercedes Benz ml350 that started having power steering problems. came here during my lunch break to have my car inspected. The gas guy told me to pull right into the empty bay, so I did. The service guy threw his hands up and yelled "what are you doing! Back up!!" I said oh I'm sorry that guy told me to pull in he said "no!!! Give me your registration and go wait in the lobby" I will never come here again simply because of how unbelievably rude that man was to me for absolutely no reason. This is the second time I have had a poor experience at Gibbs Service Station located at 441 Humphrey Street in Swampscott. The first was several years ago when I took an antique vehicle in for an inspection sticker and the inspector was on his cell phone as he was scrapping my old sticker off the windshield. He took a chunk out of the dash with the razor the size of a quarter and denied that he did it though I was standing outside the bay and watched him. He the inspector, ended up threatening me and I had to call the Swampscott police to come onto the scene. After several days the owner provided me with his insurance company and the issue was resolved. Yesterday 5/5/2022 I my fuel light came on as I was driving on Humphrey Street towards Marblehead. I pulled in and asked the girl to give me $22.00 of Premium as that is what my car calls for. I realized that she was pumping regular into it and told her to stop pumping. She claimed I asked for regular which I never do so the possibility of making that mistake is impossible. I asked to speak with her manager and he came and asked me what was wrong. I explained what had occurred and he refused to make any amends and went to get the owner. When the owner arrived he had a defensive attitude and asked me what I wanted. I said why don't you top off the tank with premium as there was only a half a tank in it and I figured it would balance out to at least 87 octane and asked him to cover the cost. He refused and became belligerent and I told him that I was not going to pay the $20.00 that she had put in as it was not what I asked for. I called the Swampscott police and two officers showed up. I explained what had happened and they completely understood. The officers spoke with the owner and he would not budge. I finally paid him and left. This shop is very bad and they don't care at all about their customer service and their obligation to the consumer in the community. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of this arrogant crooks!! read more

If you are new to the area or are looking for an honest mechanic go see Francisco at this gas station. We have used him 2 or 3 times so far always comes in cheaper than we expect and is always willing to work with us. They have very convenient ours or let you drop the car off the night before. If you have financial troubles or need to cut things down to the Bare Bones he is willing to help you out. Will never charge you from work then he did but he'll always go the extra mile more than you pay. From oil changes to tune-ups to breaks he does that all. read more

About a year ago, I wanted to get my car inspected and the attendant was rude to me when I couldn't understand where he had said to park my car. Responded by shouting and motioning with his hand. Ok. Tried this place again about a year later and he asked me why I was wasting his time when I didn't have the proper paperwork to get my car inspected. This was on me, but totally uncalled for. It's too bad because this place is convenient for me. 2/2 negative experiences, so I won't be going back. read more
