If I could give them an amazing I would! I brought my Land Rover in because the check engine light kept going on; I ran a diagnostic and it was something with the fuel rail/line. Sounded pricey. I ran it over to BAW along with a set of spark plugs I got direct from LR (I thought I could change them til I couldn't figure out how to d/c electrical). He replaced plugs, told me my brakes were corroded w photo. Also, what was causing engine light. Surprise! The fuel line, which on a Rover is the whole flippin' system. We did brakes first, then the fuel system. I'm SO HAPPY! She's better than she's been in ages! I can be pretty tough to please and I'm giving Jon and his place two thumbs up. Boston Auto Works managed a difficult repair for me and my 2014 VW CC R-line. The Turbo manifold has cracked and was in need of replacement. I reached out to B A W with the request of getting this work accomplished over a single day. With preparation and expertise B A W delivered on the same day turn around promised. Mind you the Turbo' manifold bolting was rusted and made the task difficult at best. The work was outstanding, my car is back to its previous glory and Boston Auto Works helped me accomplish that. took my 2005 jaguarxj8 vdp to them after going to many including jaguar dealers to fix my ecu unit which got wet in the car wash. they said no problem get it here.they had to purchase two old computer programs which even jaguar did not have. they fixed my car fast. i will be a new customer and i have sent two friends to them and they loved the service.highly recomend. read more

- Repost since my previous review was flagged Do not trust these guys. They used to sell cars and now do sketchy fixes at the expense of you! Brought in my car for a rebuild and they messed it up. Sounds like valve or piston slap, Now it's home and won't start. I should've known better, there were too many red flags at the beginning and throughout the build. They are ignoring my texts now after I brought the car home so that means unfortunately we will have to go to court. I have given them multiple chances. They were incompetent and don't know what they are doing when it comes to rebuilds. I had a bad review up during the whole thing but I deleted it out of good faith. No more chances. Do not trust these guys with your car! Held my car for 5 months and did not go through what we agreed, made me buy all new parts and did not even use them, then used parts without my knowledge. So I lost out twice. Don't listen to these copy and pasted responses. In person you ask a question and he just tells you "I don't know" to everything you ask because he is a car salesman not a mechanic and you would think he would be aware of what his techs do but he doesn't and when you call him out on it he will tell you "this isn't burger king, you can't have it your way" like what??? Edit: I have reviewed the evidence with at least 3 lawyers and demand letter is sent. He has ignored every single text about issues since 09/05/25, dodging responsibility and accountability but pretends he has integrity. Edit: another copy and pasted response. Yelp told me it was flagged, obviously by the owner. Another lie. I have never asked for free work and was willing to pay for anything other than his mistakes which I have proof of. Another lie. *** *********** Car was picked up and I immediately told him something was wrong. About a week or more went by with numerous messages sent out which he ignored and has not read till this day. (I was not aware he blocked me until his reply below) He states in his reply below that he cut off communications because i hurt his ego, but that's another lie because we actually had a civil conversation about the car the day before and the day of when i picked the car up and EVEN HE STATED that it was the first time in a while we got along. 9/05/2025 I picked up the car, I sent him a message the next day on 9/06/2025 about the poor condition and no response. Now I know he blocked me as soon as I received the car and the text messages can reflect that 100% because he still has not read any of the messages after I 9/05/2025. He also states that I have other means of communication. On 9/9/25 before his response below, I sent a message on YELP since he did not reply to texts, I stated that i will send the demand letter, HE STILL HAS NOT REPLIED BUT REPLIED TO THE YELP REVIEW. So, his statement down below has no grounds, he is dodging accountability. This is a grown man by the way! *********** Lies on top of lies i would avoid this place. He made an invoice for work never done and my husband reviewed the invoice and actually went under the car and saw old parts that were never changed. Updating my review, got a ppl here I previously thought these guy did a bad job because the car had a failed PCV and they didn't notice, turned out that the PCV had not failed and I was wrong. It was a combination of bad motor mounts and a few oil leaks that mimicked the symptoms. They did a super thorough job with the PPI and included pics of everything and the price was very reasonable, so far this has been one of the easiest mechanics I've ever delt with and I'd definitely come back. read more

I had Boston Auto Works help me with restoring my 1967 Chevy Impala SS and I am leaving this review as a satified customer. The service and mechanical work they did was phenomenal. The owner worked with me directly on my car after many others had turned me away because it is a classic and requires a true specialist. I could tell the owner, John, truly has a passion for helping his community. It is rare to find a shop with good moral values, great customer service and fair prices; especially in the Boston area. Boston Auto exceeded all of my expectations, by far. I recommend this shop to anyone. Long story..not so short lol, I have a 2023 VW that I brought to the dealership for an included oil change.. The oil change, turned into my car needing rear pads because mine were "wiped out". Ok... Definitely not happy about that being an almost new car with low mileage. They had no explanation on why the pads would need to be replaced so soon, and gave me an insane price of almost 1k to replace the rear BRAKE PADS. LOL nice try.. Anyways..I reached out via yelp project for repair quotes. Many were sketchy responses, generic, or just didn't respond at all. One of the first responses I received was from Boston Auto Works. They broke down their estimate for me with options. No surprises, which I appreciated. I decided to move forward with scheduling and they were able to fit me in next day(they could have fit me in same day if it worked for my schedule!). When I arrived I had met John, one of the owners, who was friendly and welcoming. After a few minutes of chatting, he went into the garage to speak with his mechanic. When he came back in he told me the rear rotors also needed to be replaced, and explained why in terms of the wear and tear they had. My stomach sank thinking "there is no way I can afford this right now". John gave me a price to add the rotors onto the job and I accepted immediately. The amount he told me was in the range i was originally quoted. I was shocked/grateful/thankful.... When I went to pick up my car later that day I met Johns business partner Ty who was just as friendly and welcoming. They also told me about a warranty issue they found with the rear braking system on my car, printed out information, and explained how I may fall under this with VW to reach out to them to try and get this job reimbursed. Feeling like someone is looking out for you may be one of the best feelings, let alone a business. You don't find that anywhere. I honestly am so grateful to have found these guys. They have me as a loyal forever customer now. I will be recommending them to everyone I know. All around a great business run by wonderful honest people. read more
