Paradise was recommended to me by a friend. At the time I needed a new engine and they told me to go somewhere else as they did not do that work. Subsequently I have gone to them for brakes and so has my husband. When I went to them for brakes, I had gone to another mechanic in Marblehead that had told me I also needed struts to the total tune of around $4,000. Paradise negated that but did say I might need them in the future. They also mentioned to my husband that whoever had replaced his brakes the last time had used very cheap ones (again the Marblehead mechanic). I was told by 2 other local mechanics that I needed over $1k of work on my Mini Cooper. Mini wanted $275 just to diagnose the problem. A friend told me to go see Jason at Paradise Auto Service. At first Jason gave me the name of someone in Marblehead who works on BMW's & Minis and while I was still in his lot calling them, he came over to my car and asked me to pull it in because he thought he knew what it might be. It was exactly what he thought it was. He ordered the part & put it in the following day. I've sent several people to them since. All were equally happy. I recently became aware that I had a bad oil drain plug on my 2010 Accord. I made arrangements to have Jason take a look and he confirmed that the plug was indeed bad and that the oil pan would need to be replaced costing around $900. He also noticed and informed me that I had extreme wear and damage to transmission fluid lines which would be another large cost to fix. As we discussed what my options were, I noticed he kind of led me to the conclusion that it would probably be better if I used the money it would take to fix my car and put it into a newer car. As someone with some trust issues, I can't say enough how much I appreciate this kind of honesty. Especially when it sends business out his door. You just don't see this kind of behavior much anymore in this age of greediness. I have used Jason's services a few times before and will continue to do so. He looked on the computer and noticed that he had changed my headlight a year ago and therefore didn't charge me under the theory that he must have put in a defective headlight the first time. Since starting to come here in 2014, ive been here more times than id like to count, but hey Jason and the team are always courteous and friendly. They always are showing me whats wrong and why it happened. I brought my car in for a quick tire swap and fog light replacement. In around an hour they had the wheels swapped, balanced, and new fog housing installed. It was by no means a huge job, but i felt extremely important. They are not pushing the huge up sells, they care about you, your car, and your experience. I cant stress this enough, if you want fair honest prices without all the hassle try these guys out. Know they cant give quotes out over the phone for everything. Every car is different and certain items take longer on certain models. They wont blind side you with a huge bill, Jason always calls and lets me know whats going on before he dives in and starts the job. Turns out it was my battery and I didn't need to come into Paradise Auto, but, their customer service was still incredible and if my husband and I need anything done in the future, we will definitely be coming to Paradise Auto.
