ryan frazier did an amazing job assisting me with finding the right kind of vehicle in my price range on such limited time..he was very courteous in every way. i brought in my own vehicle to trade as my down payment & i got a 2014 chevy captiva. this was my first time ever financing a vehicle & now having payments for the first time so i was extremely nervous about the whole thing but i felt very good after i left. unfortunately the vehicle that i chose has a lot of issues, the brake light already had a malfunction...it was noticed the same day of buying the vehicle but not until it was off the lot...i brought it back to them the next day to get fixed & it was not a bulb issue so had to make an appointment on a saturday to get fixed...i brought it to nissan at my appointment time & they advised me when i arrived to make an appointment during the week because they didn't have time to fix it. during this time (which is still under 2 weeks of having this vehicle still to this day) i have noticed a rattling under the hood & while driving the vehicle it shifts horribly as if there is something wrong with the transmission. i have dropped the vehicle off @ nissan & they have now sent my vehicle to chevrolet for the transmission issue. nissan had to give me a loaner & they had to order some wires to fix the break light & if they have to keep the car another day then they will have to put me in a warranty vehicle for the time being. i am very dissatisfied with the vehicle that they sold me!!!!!!!!!! why was this vehicle approved to be sold to someone?! this has caused me more issues & very time consuming & aggravation since day 2, i could've kept the vehicle that i had & wouldn't of had this much stress & on top of it i now have a car payment with headaches of the vehicle. this is very bad business & the vehicle should've been thoroughly checked & approved before offering it to someone. a 2014 vehicle with 40,000 miles on it should not have transmission issues at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i would've been better off staying in my 2004 chrysler pacifica that had factory tv, sun roof, 3rd row seating & leather & i thought making this decision would make me feel safer but it doesn't & i have 2 little girls & don't have the time to keep taking a car in the shop....i bought this vehicle july 10 & today is only july 21..not even 2 weeks of having it. not good quality vehicle for auto max at all. it would be really nice to speak to a manager in regards to this issue because if it is the transmission then i do not want this vehicle & feel like it is auto max responsibility to resolve this. thank you. read more

My friend and I searched for several weeks to replace her 2011 Kia Optima EX that was totaled. We visited new car dealers and drove several cars and it came down to the class including the Ford Fusion and the Kia Optima. We visited the local Ford dealer and left after wandering around the lot for nearly 30 minutes with no salesman approaching us, so we left. We then visited the Kia dealer where they foisted off a new, totally disengaged and incompetent salesman with the sales manager coming in and out with instructions for the inept guy which we finally tired of and started to leave when the overly aggressive dealership manager came in and started talking to us as if we were imbeciles. Being north of 65, we took umbrage and hastened our departure precipitously. My friend decided to return to AutoMax Ocala where she had previously driven a 2016 Ford Fusion Titanium with just over 20,000 miles that had all the features, plus some others, as her previous choice. Salesman Dan Gallagher ably assisted, explaining features in plain terms, arranging the test drive, etc. In the end, my friend decided to purchase the Fusion. Mr. Gallagher then introduced us to Finance Manager Dan Caputo who handled the purchase, T&T, insurance notification, etc., surprisingly quickly. These two gentlemen were a pleasure to work with and will definitely be recommended to anyone who asks us about an auto purchase. The other staff we encountered, including Sales Manager Cecil Ubide, Sales Rep Kris Smith, and the ladies at the front desk, were all helpful and cheerful. I've never walked up to a car dealership before where there weren't a bunch of sharks grouped together in formation waiting on the chum. AutoMax is the first auto dealership I've been to where they aren't immediately up in your face asking you a million questions or giving you a load of bologna. Joel saw that I was interested in a vehicle in the showroom and approached me like a normal human being instead of a lost fish in bloody waters. He showed me the features of the car, synced my bluetooth for my phone and we took it for a spin. He explained the details and the history of the vehicle all the way down to the nitty gritty. The guy really knew his stuff. This vehicle purchase was by far and away the quickest and most painless when compared to the previous four in my life (all were at juggernaut/mainstream dealerships). Joel was relatable, attentive, enthusiastic and most of all, he truly cared that I made out with the vehicle I wanted, a full detail and a full tank of gas. It only took a total of two hours from the time I walked in, browsed, shopped, test drove, decided and closed on my vehicle. If you're in the vicinity of AutoMax in Ocala, or even if you're not, I'd recommend you walk in that showroom and you ask for Joel or Cash. I love looking at cars but hate dealing with car salesman smothering me in the parking lot... Fortunately that has NEVER happened to me at AutoMax! I was never pressured to buy a vehicle and felt completely comfortable asking to test drive the multitude of cars that I did. During my purchasing process I was fortunate to work with two awesome salesmen... The first was Mr.Santiago who worked diligently, letting me test drive more then a handful of cars. He helped me in finding the perfect car... He was unable to finish the deal because of being out of town but recommend a great salesman named James Cohen. First thing I noticed about James was how knowledgeable he was about the vehicle I was purchasing. I had spent nights researching the information that he was able to tell me in just moments. I recently purchased a Chevy Silverado ZR2 from Automax, and overall, the experience was speedy and painless--just how car buying should be. From start to finish, the entire process took only about an hour and a half, including the test drive. The truck was in pristine condition with super low mileage, and the team clearly understood that no one wants to spend five hours at a dealership. They made a genuine effort to get me in and out efficiently. Victor was excellent with communication, and the staff was kind and courteous throughout. That said, one issue stood out. During the test drive, a notification appeared on the screen indicating a sensor problem. When I brought it up, the salesman casually brushed it off, suggesting I just "escape out of it" and implying it was likely a leftover reset issue. Unfortunately, the warning turned out to be legitimate--the brake pads needed replacing. I was disappointed to find myself covering this cost so soon after purchase, especially given the warning sign was clear and brought up before the deal was done. It felt like the focus was more on closing the sale than ensuring the vehicle's condition was fully addressed. All things considered, I'm happy with the truck and would still recommend Automax--but I'd advise getting a manager involved in the process rather than relying solely on a young, eager salesman. This is our second car buying experience from AutoMax and once again, they never disappoint! My 21 year old son decided that he wanted to trade in his car and get a newer car on his own. I searched online and found a few cars that he was wanting to look at. I was quickly texted by Dan Gallagher, who was one of the most professional, knowledgeable, trusting salesman we have ever dealt with. Due to our work schedules, we weren't able to go right away, but every time I reached out to Dan...even on his days off, he responded right away and kept me very updated with the status of the car. Yesterday we were able to go into the showroom and let me just say, they were super busy, but that didn't stop Dan from apologizing over and over for us having to wait...(he was super fast and we barely had a wait at all). I am 51 years old. I have come across car salesman and their Managers many at times and have walked away from car dealers feeling pushed harassed and at times feeling that I was taking advantage of for lack of a better word or pure restraint from using inappropriate language. I commend Ryan Frazier he was our sales rep, he was very respectful at no time did I feel pressured nor pushed nor harassed I took a car for a test drive came back looked at a few more and he never looked bother or inpatient, he was helpful and knowledgeable and willing to answer all our questions. My husband and I were looking to get a new car, but after Ford gave us a horrible experience we had given up hope...that's when we went online to AutoMax of Ocala and searched their huge inventory of cars and found many that we were interested in. I want to tell you, If you are looking for a car, ANDREW is the guy to go see at Auto Max in Ocala!!. Everyone there was really great, but ANDREW really made the whole experience wonderful. I told him what I was looking for, wanting and needed. He really went above and beyond to tend to my requests. I know buying a car can give you that dreadful feeling. At no time did I feel that this time. I felt comfortable and did not feel pressured into anything. If I said I didn't like something or was not sure. We moved on to the next. Andrew did not try to talk me into something I didn't want or try to change my mind (which we all know a lot of people try to do). Andrew actually did the opposite, everything we did was on my terms and decisions. I ended up leaving with the car I wanted, the payments I was looking for and was 100% happy when I left. Thanks to my sales rep, James Cohen and GM, Tony LaPuma, I drove away yesterday in the perfect car for me! I had such a great experience in purchasing my 2012 Hyundai Sonata. James was such a great asset to have at my side in giving me time to look around and figure out what I wanted, test drive a few cars, and help take the pressure off when making this big purchase. I thought the experience would be intimidating as a petite female walking into a primarily male dominated industry and get the run around like I had no car knowledge or a higher price offer than the car would be worth but that was so far from true! The moment i stepped in, Dan took charge and assisted me with every little detail i had done my research on, plus a bunch of extras that facilitated the trade-in of my old vehicle. I submitted my information online as I was interested in trading in my current vehicle for a 2013 Toyota Prius. I was promptly replied to by their internet manager Tammie. She called me the following morning to see when would be a good time for me to come in and test drive the car as she had already completed my credit app with the information supplied over the internet the evening previous. I went to the dealership about 11 am and was greeted by a salesman whom I told that I was there to meet Tammie. Tammie cordially greeted us about 2-3 minutes later and introduced us to Anthony who would be our sales person. He promptly asked if I wanted to test drive the car, to which I said yes. After the test drive, they evaluated my car for trade in credit. I presented the coupon from their website that provided me with a significantly larger amount for my trade in. All the information went to the finance manager, and we waited for about 10-15 minutes before the finance manager came and got us. Upon reviewing the payment options, we signed the papers. The entire process only took an hour and a half. Very quick in my opinion. The service was excellent, and the staff was wonderful. My fiance and I are looking to trade her vehicle in for a hybrid as well, and we will most definitely be doing that at Automax in Ocala! read more

Went in to check out the cars and found a car I loved. A really nice Red mustang! Upon arrival we were greeted by a Salesman named Mark Travis who was outstanding. Mark showed us to the car we had found online and was extremely knowledgable about the electronic features as well as the safety features. We test drove the car and then went through a quick and easy negotiation and were given a great price. About a month after this I was involved in a wreck on i75 and the car was totaled. I knew I wanted another mustang though and Mark at AutoMax was my first call. I expected to have to wait awhile to find the car I wanted but Mark came through for me and quickly found me a car I loved even more than the first. Once again Mark was knowledgeable about the car and helped us get another great deal. If you are looking for a used car stop by AutoMax, but make sure you ask for Mark. He was extremely patient with us and genuinely cared about making sure I were happy with the car I bought. We decide to pay them a visit in person and we walked away highly satisfied customers! Allen gave us a super friendly greeting and helped us so much with deciding on our new SUV. Superb experience! I knew the truck I wanted as I drove by it every day on my way to work. I did several weeks of research and learned I was not going to get a better deal anywhere. Seriously. It's a 2016 Ford F-150 XLT super crew 4x4 for at least $7,000 less than you would get at any other dealer. This truck is literally like brand new. I called at 4:10 pm on Friday. I spoke with Daniel Collins the sales manager. I told him I wanted this truck, I was coming in to buy it, and I didn't want it to take long. I arrived at 4:40pm and was greeted by name by salesman Andrew Talsky. He started the finance process immediately. While that was going on we test drove the truck. Andrew was very knowledgeable and answered every question I had as if it were his own truck. When we got back he introduced us to Frank Bradley who handled the financing he was extremely proficient and explained every piece of paper we signed. I was given the keys to my new truck at 5:45pm and was not late for our dinner reservations at 6. I feel confident we made the right choice by going to Auto Max Ocala. Automax is amazing! First, the sticker price on the car is the price you pay. No games and no haggling. I went in to Automax to see a specific car that I saw on their online inventory. The only financial question my floor salesperson, Joel Tomlinson, asked as we walked toward the car was how much I was looking to spend. Joel then spent the next 90 minutes showing me not only the car I came to see, but other cars well within my price range, never more. Joel knew every detail about the five cars we looked at. He was careful to explain the differing benefits of each car: lower mileage vs. quality of warranty, features vs. MPG, etc. In all, we test drove three cars. Joel was very patient and made sure I had answers to questions I hadn't even thought to ask. He noted my interest in technology which finally lead me to purchase not the car I came to see, but a 2015 Dodge Dart Sport with very low mileage, great tech extras, and an excellent warranty. All of this for only a few dollars more than my original prospect and still well within my budget. If you're not car shopping at Automax, you're shopping at the wrong place. Be sure to ask for Joel. Our Representative was the most caring professional I have ever dealt with in a car buying experience. In Ocala, I went in & met, JOEL TOMLINSON, who REALLY CARES about making the buyer feel like they are the ones in control, not the dealer. I have some experience in buying cars, & drive as hard a bargain as I can, & they did as much as they could, & then some. After researching for months, I found Automax consistently had the lowest prices. I had visited other dealerships in the area and did not care for the "game" other salespeople played. The deal was written out clearly and simply. When I got to finance, I expected to have to fight off the extended warranty sales pitch, but that didn't happen.
