Talk about a horrible experience...a friend of mine purchased a vehicle from these people and was shown a clean car fax report stating the vehicle was never in any type of accident, only to discover that when he took the vehicle in for routine maintenance at the local Ford dealership that the warranty had been voided due to a significant front end collision.The parts were replaced with aftermarket pieces which in turn had voided the factory warranty. In addition, Pat, the general manager acted like a complete dick towards the entire situation when confronted about the situation offering virtually no resolution. Honestly, I think the vehicle has been in more times for repair than on the road. Take a look in the back of the dealership and you'll see several damaged vehicles in which I'm sure will be pieced together to sell. There's a reason these vehicles are priced so low, it's because many have been in collisions or have been patched up. If your thinking of going in there to buy a vehicle, do yourself a favor and take it in to make sure the car is on the up and up. Also, DON'T PAY IN CASH! Purchase the vehicle on a credit contract...that way you have more leverage with these morons in case they try to pull a fast one with you too. ***PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS DEALERSHIP*** I know true used car dealerships get a bad rap but this place takes it to the next level. Long story short, they wouldnt sell me the car without financing through them (illegal, I know this and they know this). I went out there and tried to trade my car in and buy an Audi, they "couldnt" execute the deal without getting the general managers approval on increasing my trade-in amount so I had to wait until the following Monday to get a final answer. Monday comes around and I hear nothing, than I had to call 3 times and finally reached someone on Wednesday. I wanted the car and at first I thought it was a good deal. I am not going to go on a huge rant but long story short, they finally let me use outside financing but the caveat was that they increased the cost of the vehicle. They wouldn't let me buy the car unless I bought GAP insurance (I have All-State and that covers the GAP) and they also said it was mandatory to buy the 36mo -36k mile warranty package. They prey on people that have a hard time getting a loan and jack you on the interest rates, I was approved at 2.1% from my own financing and when they said I had to buy the car through their financing it was at 4.7% (it was at the same bank!). They have lower prices than any other dealership in New England but how do they make money?? They make their money on interest rates and warranties which in fact was full of disclaimers (They have minimal coverage and I can only go Automax). Do your homework before going into this place. Its only a matter of time until restrictions come down on places like that but dont go in there and think you are getting a deal!!! If you have to get a higher interest rate to buy a car, go in there and get approved by a lender then use that approval and go buy a car private sale or another location. I received a call back from one of their sales guys, when I pressed for service and history detail on the car I wanted, the guy became irate, raise his voice and then hung up. Another reason to avoid these people. Someone else contact me about a car, they were polite and said the 30K car was in excellent condition. I told them excellent means no nicks, scratch or flaw, if I pay the 500 for shipping and the car has flaws I will demand a refund for misrepresentation. Let me start by saying we bought a car from Automax and I would go back again, good customer service and good prices. Idol also say I do understand some of the previous negative reviews. We Bought my oldest daughters first "new" car at Automax. We walked in and it was almost closing (about 2 hours to close) and the place was relatively busy. The first thing we were treated with was the manager telling one of the salesman to basically quite his whining and smarten up! (Let me also say the manager was CORRECT). He grabbed us a salesman (David = nice, good salesman) and we started the process. We had been shopping around and found the right car for the right price, after agreeing in the price we had the car. Had a little hiccup the day we went to pick it up (they told us it had been sold to someone else?!), it was rectified the next day (seems like some "miscommunication" happened somehow). We had some help along this roller coaster sales ride from Sam. Everyone we spoke to and worked with was courteous and professional (even when I was swearing/yelling/threatening about them "selling" the car we already bought) so I give them credit. I am giving Automax Framingham 4 stars simply because they didn't have enough cars in our price range that fit our needs. We were hoping for more of a selection and our price range was 8k-12k. This dealership is a nightmare to deal with... my first impression of them was I didn't trust them and I should have gone with my gut feeling and am kicking myself now for it. Bought a car in July 22 when first viewing the car the salesman could not get the car to unlock when he finally did the alarm was going off and he did nothing to make it stop completely ruined the moment of looking at a $46k car. I let that slide. Doing paperwork in the managers office my husbands a JR we noticed none of the documents had the suffix on them and we wanted that corrected.. We were assured that signing these docs was fine and the important docs would reflect JR on them... they do not. We needed the license plates from the car we traded in onto the new car and clearly made that known. This did not happen and was never communicated with us that they'd be unable to make this happen. We then had to pay $250 at the DMV and plead our case to a judiciary because the insurance on the old car was cancelled but we never turned in plates is illegal... but that's the thing we were never going to cancel the license plates and never told the proper steps that needed to take place. Next comes to getting an inspection sticker... the 360 bullshit inspection that the dealer claims to do before you take the car off the lot was clearly not completed on this vehicle. We needed new brakes and rotors for $800 for the car to even pass an inspection... Try talking to anyone of power in the office to explain your situation GOODLUCK ... no one returns your phone call so save yourself the hassle and DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP and do your due diligence as I found out back in 2019 they were required to pay back customers $750k for deceptive sales practices. Updating my review (again) as it relates to the Automax in North Attleboro: After my experience at the Framingham location, I had a couple issues with the car that I needed to get looked at. I was ready to pay for these issues myself but instead I called the North Attleboro location and asked if I could bring it there, they said yes. My experience there was MUCH MUCH better. My first interaction was with the service guy, Dan (who by the way, was great from start to finish) - he assured me everything would be looked at and whatever was wrong would be fixed. He followed through on his word, the very same day he addressed all my concerns and fixed my issues (the car is now running perfectly). He also made sure the car was cleaned immaculately and the gas was refilled (extra special touches that were appreciated). While I was talking to Robert, the business manager, who was also very nice and very helpful, the GM of this location (or owner, not sure) Hebert came up and said he had overheard me talking about my poor experience and wanted to know if I had time to discuss this with him. I said yes. We sat and talked for over 30 minutes and he was very attentive, took note of every issue I had, and took the time to explain their practices and why things happened for me the way they did. We both agreed the primary issue I had with Framingham was miscommunication. Hebert went out of his way to personally offer me a rental vehicle if my car took longer than a couple days to fix (which I told him was not necessary because I had another vehicle available for me to use), he also coordinated with the Framingham location to have my plates and registration brought to the Attleboro location for me (since at the time I still did not have them), and he also said he would have my car inspected for me. This process only took about 2 days for him to handle for me and in between, he called me each day to provide me a status update. On the day I had to bring my car in to get my plates and inspection, I had a headlight go out and they fixed that as well, the same day, no problems. Completely different experience from Framingham - GREAT communication, GREAT customer service, I will definitely go back to North Attleboro only and visit Dan, Robert, and Hebert again. Thank you all very much for restoring my trust and faith in Automax again and for allowing me to enjoy my new ride. Note to Automax - I truly hope you take the time to recognize these 3 individuals as you could tell they were passionate about their careers and their customers and they deserve all the recognition. Was supposed to pick up my car on a friday after signing papers 4 days before and being told id be able to pick up anytime on that friday and still wasn't fully detailed and registration and inspection like promised. I purchased a vehicle and immediately got it inspected by a high end dealer and the steering rack had a noticeable leak. Under Mass laws, they were required to fix it & they did but this issue should've been caught by them & not me. Furthermore, they gave me a spare key to the vehicle that does not work and they've promised to fix it but the issue is still ongoing. Getting in touch with the general manager has been difficult as the sales manager has not been able to resolve my issue. Sales reps are money hungry and try to low ball you for your trade-in value so beware. Always value your vehicle at the NADA or KBB value or walk away. I visited Automax in Framingham, MA on 12/31/17 and dealt with a salesman named Michael Hanley. The car we wanted to see wasn't at the dealership, which was understandable considering we didn't have an appointment. He assured us that the vehicle was only 20 mins away at their partner dealership. He wasn't too pushy to begin with and wanted to run numbers with us to see if getting the vehicle from the other dealership was even worth it... first mistake. We went to see a vehicle, if it was only 20 mins away, he should have sent someone to get it so we could take a look at it after him "running numbers". As we "ran our numbers" he drew a line with an "X" on a piece of paper and wanted us to initial it to COMMIT to a monthly payment in which he never even ran our credit to give us the actual monthly figure! I felt he completely insulted my intelligence at this point! The monthly payment was way out of our ballpark - we knew what we wanted to pay and we knew what our trade was worth. We were NOT being unrealistic. This dealerships trick is to have you commit to a payment, and then charge you their inflated APR even though you may qualify for a lesser amount. SHADY DEALERSHIP! Not an honest business practice at all! He proceeded to tell us the an increased APR of a few points wasn't that big of a deal... I don't maintain good credit, and qualify for a outstanding APR only to turn around a pay more than what I should - what a joker! So in short... Michael wanted us to commit to a monthly payment which was out of our range - without the vehicle even present - and without running our financial information. I excused myself to the restroom, came back and grabbed my jacket off the back of the chair and left. Thanks but no thanks Automax! Started with them adding "conditions" on when they can honor a true car certificate even though the website shows they participate in the program. Also, had to get vehicle towed to a gas station after purchase ... turns out vehicle was sold with just enough gas to pull out of the parking lot and not get too far. If I could give this place zero stars I would. First day we went our sales guy was great, they got out car note down to what we wanted, just needed to get some stuff situated and we could pick up the car that next week. next week rolls around and they cant give us the car yet because "the bank hasn't given them the funds" excuse me what does that have to do with us? we already traded in our car and gave a down payment, so that was strike one. strike two was 2 days later (a Friday) when we finally picked up the car after almost 2 weeks of buying it we drive for about 2 hours and the horn isn't working, whatever not that big of a deal. another two hours pass, we're driving down the highway, my boyfriend goes to downshift and the clutch drops and we cant go into any gear. we pull to the side of the highway and get it towed back to the dealership. next day my boyfriend calls them to ask what's happening and they say they'll update us on Monday. Wednesday rolls around and they finally call saying they're going to replace the clutch and we need to pay $1400. after explaining we were 2 weeks into our lemon law they tried to say a clutch wasn't covered. after a whole day of playing phone tag and them trying to negotiate how much we'll pay they finally decided they'd "goodwill this for us" but continued to say that if anything else happened to the car we're going to be reasonable for it. now here we are another week later and 3 weeks into owning the car and still hearing nothing back my boyfriends calls them and they say some how the wrong part came in so its going to be probably another week until we get the car back. if you don't get where they're going with that, they're saying we will give you the car back once the 30 lemon law is over so we don't have to pay for anything else that goes wrong with this car. Finally on feb 18 we got to pick up the car, everything seemed to be fine. After the 45 min drive home the horn once again wasn't working, so we had to spend that next Friday trying to fix the horn so we could et an inspection for the car since the dealership never did. Feb 20 I went to get an inspection and failed do to the communications not being ready and the inspector asked me if I had recently disconnected the battery or cleared a check engine light, which I hadn't because I've only had the car 2 days now. Later that day im driving on the highway when a check engine light comes on, are we surprised at this point? I had to an advanced auto to grab a code reader to see what wrong and the car had not 1 not 2 but 3 misfires this whole time. Now it makes sense why the dealership never did an inspection because they would've had to fix it. I once again spent my money and time to fix the misfires so I wouldn't have to bring it to the dealership and have them give me some type of bullshit excuse or reasoning. I would NEVER in my life recommend anyone go there. they could care less about the buyers but rather the money they're making. read more

I almost didn't visit this dealership because of all the negative reviews. BUT, they had my dream car at $3k less than the KBB value (which to a grad student is a ton of money), so I decided to take a chance. I'm so glad I did. I worked with Mike Ouellette, who was extremely responsive through out the whole process. He helped me drive the car off the lot same day, and explained each step to me. This was my first time buying a car on my own, so I definitely had my guard up, but Mike was clear and communicative, which put me at ease (a little bit... okay, I was still stressed, but it wasn't Mike's fault). I noticed a large crack in the bumper before our test drive, and Mike did not hesitate to tell me that the dealership would repair it for me. They even allowed me to set up a date in the future for the repair, since I needed a car that day. The car only had one set of keys, but they offered to order another set for me, free of charge. I financed the car through the dealership and got my insurance through the dealership, and every person I met during these steps was pleasant and helpful. They helped me get a really good warranty on the car too (5 yr, 100k mi), which was important, because I can't even fathom having to replace a transmission or something when I can hardly afford a car payment. Be aware that they do not negotiate prices. The cars all seemed to be very reasonable, though, so really it just eliminates some awkward back and forth between you and the sales guy. So this is my first loaned out car, I looked up the vehicle I purchased which was a 2009 Subaru Legacy 2.5i special edition with 60k miles on CarGururs and I got to say the car itself is pretty sweet. I'm not much of a haggler but I know a few things in regards of what to look for when purchasing a car from a dealer like Automax. Sal Favuzza, who was the sales man who catered to my needs was a very kind and caring man that will definitely get you the car you desire. Everybody in the dealership were kind folks and cared very much for my comfort. The reason as to why I'm giving them a 3 star and the only reason only is because when I checked the car out I had seen there was a cracked headlight and Sal quickly took care of it but he and his team failed to mention the dent and scratch on the fender that did not catch my eye until day of purchase. I found this to be disturbing because they changed my headlight and made me wait a whole day to service the car. After waiting a day they called me and said they would be done two hours late and still the fender was scratched and dented. I am a firm believer that if your going to service and fix a car before selling it make sure you don't half ass the work. I invested a good amount of money and would have appreciated the effort a little more if I was fully taken care of. Sal being the generous man that he is had a dent specialist come in to try and make the problem a little better but really didn't and now wish he would have left the car alone. They have very nice cars and they are very kind but if your going to buy a car from them make sure you take care of these things: - if you deal with a guy named "Jonh" becareful because he will lie to you. The man said the 3 year warranty was included but did not tell me that it included $2,250 as well. I convinced myself I wanted it because well I singed the papers already but I do believe it is bad business to lie like so. - second, make sure you are fully happy with what you are about to buy and make sure you look at everything 2-3 times before making a final choice. She said it was because it was sitting for too long without being driven and that it was just rust. She said that after driving for a couple of days it would go away and work like normal. Car is NOT inspected, left me with a 1/4 of a tank of gas, tells us that they don't inspect vehicles from RI, keep in mind I recently purchased another vehicle in MA an that dealership inspected it. Complete Bullshit! We were told that we couldn't transfer our existing plates an had to get new ones due to the DMV which was not accurate. We get there an they give us temporary plates, smh, so what took so long from 5/4 til 5/14. Terrible experience, everything was great during the test drive and looking at. When it came to financing they took forever to get the numbers together. When my numbers finally came back the finance manger took me to his office he was trying to get me to sign the papers for the truck before I knew my monthly payment,length and interest rate. When I questioned the numbers they assumed I wasn't actually interested in the vehicle, when I was, but just wanna know what I'm paying. The interest rate they were quoting me versus what I've been approved from a different bank which is fine that they wouldn't match but my salesman had the audacity say that I'm walking away because I can't afford the car. I can afford the car I just didn't want to overpay for no reason, he seemed confused so asked for my keys and left. If you are like me and are looking for good deals on used cars with quick and professional customer service, I would totally recommend Automax on route 9 in Framingham and the neighboring partner spot RT9 Auto Sales. I worked with Nick and he was quick and courteous. Truly zero pressure -- I really felt like he was just trying to help me look at cars. He gave me his cell number and we were able to set up some visits through just texting alone. Super convenient. You don't get cushy leather sofas and free muffins and bagels at this place like you do at some car dealerships, but that stuff always just made me feel like it was costing more anyway. The lot is also a bit crowded. But I figure that is because they are playing a volume game, and again link that to lower prices. The good service made up for all of that to me. read more

One star because no zero star. I checked the Google evaluation first but that is really misleading. The sales person only wanted to close the deal and gave me the wrong info about the loan and rate. They made many hard inquiries and dragged down your credit score. read more

UPDATE: Went into dealer the moment they opened and insisted on them refunding my deposit or it would not be a pretty scene. They refunded but it still has not hit my bank account (it's been 24 hours) I will yet again remain as patient as possible but if its not there within 48 hours I am paying them another lovely visit read more

Should have checked Yelp before I went here. Same story as other people. Promised a particular car at a particular price the night before we came in. Confirmed appointment when texted at noon before a 4PM appointment. Texted when we were on our way and when traffic resulted in us being 15min late. When we get there we were told the car had been sold earlier. All the way out to Framingham for nothing. read more

My friend and I came in looking to buy a car under $15,000. We checked in and were sat in the waiting area and told to wait for someone to help us. We were then greeted by a salesman named gus (not the white one). In the beginning he was rude, he basically told us to do all our research ourselves. We then asked if he could show us the cars in the lot, instead he kept showing us car on his computer that were over our budget. We told him we were going to go home and do our own search but on the way out he finally insisted on showing us some cars (not in our budget either). We walked away but he followed and kept talking about the cars and saying it was close by . We reached our own car and we tried to get away but he was still persistent on trying to show us this car. He got the message when we got inside. It was out first time car shopping and it was a terrible experience. read more

I wish I had read the reviews before making my purchase. I bought a car last Friday and I was told it would be ready the latest today Wednesday. I just called and they just told me that the car was not ready and that they are still waiting on a part to come in and had no idea when it will be ready. Not happy right now read more

Only gave them one star because there was no zero stars went in a week ago to buy a vehicle and after three days it was still not ready have been fighting for over a week to get my deposit back have left about 25 messages and no one has returned my call, not a place I will ever go again read more
