I have been going to Ron's Tire & Service Shop in Framingham for several years now, after a friend recommended them to me, and this review is long overdue. I bring my Honda there for everything from oil and filter changes, new tires, and any mechanical work my car needs. Every experience has been wonderful. Their prices are always fair, and they have never once tried to take advantage of me or upsell unnecessary work. As a woman, that level of honesty and respect means a lot. Last week, I went in for a routine oil and filter change. I usually wait there because they have a comfortable waiting area with coffee and TV. I had been extremely busy with work and running on very little sleep. After I left, I must have accidentally dropped my credit card outside their building. Not long after I left, they called me to let me know they had found my credit card outside and safely held onto it until I could come back and pick it up. That kind of honesty and kindness is rare these days. Thank you so much to everyone at Ron's Tire & Service Shop for always taking such great care of both me and my car. Ron, the owner, was who I spoke with on the phone and he not only educated me about tires but was beyond reasonable and fair. The price was solid especially for re-balancing and alignment. I had a flat tire and they were able to fix it on a Saturday. I appreciate their help and great customer service.

I had an appointment scheduled for 8:00 am for an alignment, and I dropped off my car on time. I called at 1:30 pm, and they told me the car was not ready yet. Then, at 3:30 pm, I arrived to check on my car and found out they had even moved my car from the parking lot to work on it. They explained that they had a busy day with more than 50 customers, but I couldn't understand why they had scheduled so many services in one day. I eventually decided to leave with my car, and that's when they couldn't find my car key. I had to wait until they found my key so that I could leave. In other words, I wouldn't recommend bringing your car here. They are not trustworthy and reliable. It was a very bad experience, a waste of time, and a lack of respect. Finally! An honest, reliable and highly competent tire shop. Our Subaru Outback had blown through two front tires at 30,000 miles due to a front end that was completely out of alignment (thank you, MetroWest Subaru). The knowledgeable staff at Ron's Tire recommended great new tires and did a 4-wheel alignment, all at a reasonable price. The computer printout they provided detailed just how out of whack the front end was, and provided the post-alignment settings as well. I give them my highest recommendation! read more

I was driving home to a Albany, NY on the Mass Pike after a 2 week residency for my MFA program when my tire pressure light came on. I pulled over at the nearest rest stop (Framingham) and checked my tires- I heard the airbrushing from my back drivers side tire- and before I knew it, it was flat. Unfortunately this occurred close to 7pm on a Sunday so I wasn't able to get in anywhere for a repair right away. After a night in a hotel, and some Yelp searching, I decided to give Ron's a try for tire repair. I called ahead and they were able to get me in right away. I parked and briefly explained what happened and they whisked my car away before I knew it. Less than 45 minutes later, one of the mechanics brought over the screw that you see in the photos- as scary looking as it is (he even seemed impressed!) I was lucky that it wasn't wider which allowed them to do a permanent internal latch- good for the rest of the life of the tire. I thanked them profusely, paid (a very reasonable price!!) and was on my way! I came here because of their Yelp rating as well as the fact that Ron, the owner, monitors this and responds to every review (positive or negative). Came ready to purchase tires and asked r.j for help finding a good set of tires. after a few questions regarding tire prices he told me to leave the store and told me to go else where because I was giving him a " hard time " all I did was ask for him to check a different brand then the one he recommended.. aggressive and unprofessional! I do not recommend their services.. unless you like being mistreated and overcharged . Went to town fair tire and got the same exact tires he recommended for 100$ cheaper and a free alignment.. NEED A TIRE/SERVICE - LOOK NO FURTHER Why go anywhere else?! It just wouldn't make sense. These guys EXCEL in customer service. Called Ron's Tire on a Saturday morning at 11:55 AM (they close at 12 noon) and said to come right over, even though we were 30 minutes away. They stuck around until we arrived, repaired the tire, and sent us on our way. We've been going to them for years and this is exactly why we do. Best service. They even have loaner cars should the repair take a while. Oh, and they called the following Monday morning to see if everything was still fine with the tire. Five stars for the repair, negative four for the sexism and condescension. I went in pretty certain I had both a slow leak and a valve stem problem. I described the issues I was having and literally BEGGED the guy to actually troubleshoot the issue. I'd explained this was the fourth shop I'd come to because other mechanics kept filling the tire and telling me it wasn't an issue. I don't know what I'm talking about. My tire is too new to have a valve stem problem. They could fill the tire just fine, so I must just not have a clue how to use an air compressor. Who has to refill air in a tire once every month if there's not a problem? This guy, in what I'm sure was his kindest, gentlest tone, handed me a pressure gauge, offered to show me how to use it, filled the tire with air without bothering to check it for any other issues, and sent me about my way, swearing it was fine and I just need to learn "proper technique for filling a tire." Completely fed up with the equivalent of being patted on the head cuz I can't possibly know what I'm talking about when it comes to mechanical things, a month later when again the tire is running flat and won't take any air, I sent my husband back to the shop and instructed him to give the same description of the problem. Voila, he returns with a tire newly patched and with a replaced valve stem. My husband was a big fan before this happened, so I'm sure their work is fine as long as you're not a woman coming in with an issue. read more

This would have been 5star. Mostly professional and knowledgeable. My car was ready well before when quoted. Delicious restaurant nearby. The decrease in stars came from a counterman who passed my eyes, to a man 1 person back and asked him if he needed help. And yes I am a woman. Another man jumped in as I think he saw me start to go for #1 counter man. Interesting because I read of this happening to someone else, and it took 2 visits to see it. read more

Going to either a tire shop or an auto repair shop can be a mixed bag. It's magic. You never know what they're doing or what the final bill will be. It's like going to the dentist. Not so at Ron's Tire Service. I was greeted like I belonged there. The counter guy, starts with a T, gave me a smile, a laugh, a joke and gave me three options for the two front tires I needed in advance if the coming blizzard. I hate junk from China so I picked two Uniroyal Tiger Paws. I knew the exact price ahead of time and that was the final price. Included balance and disposal. The waiting area is comfortable and large but very casual. Don't go here for the decor. Go here because it's a keeper, and for my first impression, honest and fast. My car has been making a mysterious, loud, winding noise for the past 4 months but I just kept pushing off getting it checked. Ron's was recommended to me by a friend, I'm SO happy I came here. I came during COVID-19 time, they are practicing great social distancing while still servicing your car (you drop off your keys and speak over the phone, charge was over the phone and had my car back without any direct contact). He fixed the problem within 2 hours, charged a very fair amount (no BS charges or superfluous fixes). I will be returning with any future issues. read more

I originally came in looking at expensive quotes from other shops, Rons did not try to upsell and overcharge me, getting me out the door 3 days later with a whole new set for $200 less than I originally thought I'd have to pay. Employees are all super helpful and will go out the way to show/explain how bad the wear on your tires are, how far out of alignment they are, what that means, etc. Clean and sunny waiting area with lots of seating, free coffee and wifi. will be coming back for future tire (and other auto) needs. read more

Very pleased with the service at Ron's. The latch on my driver side door stopped working (I had to open the door by rolling down the window and opening from outside!) Ron was responsive, gave me a quote, and fixed the car same day. He also charged less than the quote because the part was less expensive than anticipated. I called Ron after getting pulled over for a super expired inspection sticker that I couldn't get renewed until I got new tires (on a side note, the officer was incredibly nice, and I got off with a warning). I wanted two new tires, but the guy at Ron's told me that I'd probably want to get all four, and after checking out the tread on what I had been thinking of as my good tires, I had to agree. Four tires, an alignment, and an oil change was going to cost me four and some change, I was pretty bummed to part with that much, but what can you do? What makes this a five star review is that before I left they asked me if I wanted them to take it to get the inspection while they had it there, how awesome is that? Because honestly, I probably would have kept slacking on that sticker for at least another week. A+ read more

I thought I had a nail in my tire (this would've been the third time it's happened) and brought my car in to Ron's to have nail removed and tire patched!! We also asked if they could check my other tires to see if they were plugged or patched. Such great service, they checked and rotated all my tires! Turns out, it was a tack and didn't even puncture the tire. They didn't even charge me anything even for their time and labor! So appreciative and my family will continue going to Ron's Tire! I went to Ron's to get a new muffler. I tried to call around to price a muffler replacement, but all the garages that I called said that I needed to bring it in to assess the costs, so I couldn't get a good idea if I was getting a good deal or totally hosed by this place. I paid $300 for the muffler and labor (225 and 75, respectively) plus tax, which I have no idea if that's good or bad. Pros: Very nice customer service Saw my car that afternoon Nicer than expected waiting area with a large TV, tables and chairs Cons: Wait time was longer than what they told me (to see the car and also to replace the muffler -- ended up taking about 3-4 hours when it was finished, they were saying more like 40 min for each) Again, I really have no idea what the going rate of a muffler replacement is, but I thought I'd go ahead and post what I paid for future customers. read more

This is a review by a non-customer, and yet it could not be more positive. We were considering replacing the catalytic converter on a loved but older car that we were planning to move from Oregon to California. I called one of Ron's competitors and got a cheery, very expensive price. Then i called Ron's and was offered the finest analysis of the pros and cons of the situation I ever could have hoped for (I'm guessing there are more considerations involved in this kind of decision than most of you realize). When I had every one of my questions answered patiently, it looked like a wiser course of action would be to sell the car instead, and I said as much. Hewing constantly to the high road, the Ron's rep I spoke with said he agreed that was probably the best choice under my set of circumstances, even though he had already offered to do the necessary work for almost $200 less than his competitor when I asked him for his price directly. To summarize: When you find a local merchant who is exceptionally well informed, who is patient enough to talk facts with you, who has the ability to communicate clearly and without gobbledygook, who offers very competitive prices, and who is honest enough to pass on a sale when it is not in the best interests of the customer -- well, don't look any further! read more

Ron's tires was reasonably priced, had quick and efficient service, and had good customer service. I had to get new front tires since I failed inspection. The guy came out to look at my tires to see if really did need new ones and to check if I gave him the right car info. He gave me 2 different quotes for different tires with the labor included. They said it would be 45 minutes, but it felt more 30 minutes My car is running fine now, and I have no problems with the new tires. read more

I had been bringing my car to Ron's Tire for quite a few years while I lived in Framingham and they always did a perfect job. Then I moved away and about a year after I moved something related to the tires started acting up and I remembered that years before Ron's had fixed a similar problem with a previous car. Being new to the area where I had moved I wanted to not only describe what the problem was, but I also wished I were able to tell a tire place that I had never used before exactly what Ron's had done to fix it in the previous car. So I called Ron's and was very happy to learn that they had a record of that old repair and details of exactly what they had done to fix it. It really saved the day for me and I doubt if I'll ever find a tire shop as good as Ron's here or any place else. read more

What can I say, Ron's Tires especially RJ was God sent! I have had problems with my car for a year now after lack of communication and follow through by a national dealership. This literally took the guys at Ron's Tire a day to figure out and 2 weeks to repair (due to my 3rd party warranty company) despite being crazy busy especially since I dropped it off prior to Christmas.  They were understanding, knowledgeable, didn't give me the run around, explained in detail what was wrong with my car, discussed possible solutions, but above helped make this process easy, especially since they had the misfortune of having to deal with my 3rd party warranty company, which they took care of as well; they even got them to cover a brand new piece and a Ron's Tire recommended used part.  Finally my car is properly fixed and I no longer have to worry about my drive shaft or any part of the AWD breaking while driving alone with my girls.
