My car was returned clean (no greasy finger prints), the service light was reset and my brakes performed as expected. Under Andy I…read morehad nothing but good experiences, in depth explanations of issues and more than understandable costs but since the change in ownership the quality in service has severely dropped while the costs have seriously spiked. I have given them multiple chances because I wanted to believe things would get better, but every visit has been more disappointing. My most recent visit was to get general 120k service done and check an engine clicking noise. They changed the oils/fluids but barely acknowledged the clicking noise which was the main issue. After I picked it up, I had to bring two mechanics with me just to show them the noise was still there, and they acknowledged it but still didnt fix anything. The worst of my experiences was that they also rotated my tires but didnt set the pressure correctly, my brakes were very stiff and grinding for a while afterward and a lug nut fell off my front right tire after a few days. Luckily i noticed it before driving and sheer chance it didnt happen on the freeway or somewhere worse. They also charged me $180 to "diagnose" a check engine light that i had already told them the code/issue for. Then their recommended fixes seemed more like guesses than genuine diagnostics that would follow an in depth review of a problem. Their solution was essentially, "Lets replace this part, and if that doesnt fix it, well replace something else and maybe thatll work". Between the unresolved engine issue(s), poor workmanship, drastic increase in costs, and genuine dangerous after-work issues (grinding brakes and lug nut falling off), I have lost all confidence in this business.

They initially replaced the motor mounts and then told her the torque converter needed to be replaced. She paid approximately $3,500 for the repairs, but afterward the vehicle would not run at all. The shop told her they would determine the problem and asked for a couple of weeks. Those "couple of weeks" turned into six months, leaving her without transportation the entire time. Eventually, we had to involve their insurance company. The vehicle was then taken to Ford for diagnosis. According to Ford, the repairs were in such poor condition that it would cost more than $10,000 in labor and parts to correct the issues. As a result, the insurance company chose to total the vehicle rather than repair it. Unfortunately, the insurance company would not reimburse the $3,500 my daughter had already paid, stating that she would need to seek reimbursement directly from All About Cars. When we contacted the shop, Nate became argumentative, yelled during the phone call, and ultimately hung up. To this day, we have not received any reimbursement. To make matters worse, I later learned from Ford that the engine had reportedly been dropped during the repair process, causing damage to the transmission line. Despite the damage occurring during the repair work, my daughter was still charged for the repairs. Charging a customer to fix damage caused by your own negligence is unacceptable, dishonest and unprofessional, Losing both $3,500 AND her vehicle created a significant financial hardship for my daughter. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend All About Cars. I strongly encourage anyone considering this shop to do thorough research and ask detailed questions before trusting them with their vehicle.

In no way shape or form did I EVER refuse payment and all I did say was "I made an appointment through carmax". I don't think this was malicious, I think it was just the near universal incompetence of mechanics that I've run into in Reno, but the extra $2000 we paid these guys for it was far more than enough. I wouldn't trust them to work on a bicycle where I could easily inspect the work myself. I've done nearly all my own work since the last incident here and guess what, I haven't had any parts not directly related to a problem fail yet.
