They were timely in their appointment, performed the detailed inspection, Fred called and emailed me the report and took payment over the phone which was a huge help to me being out of town. Geared Performance is top notch! I needed a new timing belt on my Subaru and I was referred to Geared Performance by The Auto Shop, whom I also have great experience with. I made an appointment, Geared Performance carried out my timing belt service and I had my car back the same day. A+ Service! A few months later, my car developed a pretty bad transmission leak, I also had a mysterious suspension clunk, and my A/C had stopped working at some point. I figured I was due for an oil change, so I'd have that done as well. Now, I have to disclose that my car has a Carmax warranty. I was hesitant about bothering Geared Performance with my warranty as I didn't want to be a total nuisance. But Cam, the owner, assured me it wouldn't be a problem at all. They actually told me they didn't have much experience with the warranties, but they were happy to learn. Geared Performance assessed all of my concerns and worked up a quote. They went above and beyond and submitted the quote to the warranty company. In a few hours, the quote was approved and the work had commenced. I was given text updates by the staff about what was going on what to expect. After all of the work was carried out, I was notified that I could pick up my car and all I needed to pay was my deductible and for the oil change. It was quick and painless. These guys will be totally upfront with you about your car. Now, I know everyone isn't so lucky to have a warranty on their cars, and I am extremely fortunate. These guys do great work regardless. I recently brought my 2017 Mustang GT to Geared Performance to have some suspension / chassis work done. I had them install some BMR products to help tighten up the rear sub-frame and suspension. The parts chosen for this upgrade exceeded my expectations, as did the service rendered by the Geared Performance team! This was my first experience with this shop and I am completely sold. Before I made my appointment, Cam (owner) invited me to the shop for a tour. The shop was clean, well organized and everyone was very busy. When the appointment day came around for my upgrade, Cory had my car in and out quickly with a clean install! The shop is positioned as a "speed shop", and they do great work in that regard. They also do general repairs and maintenance. I would not hesitate to bring my car here, even for the more mundane stuff. Cam is a 'car guy'. Everyone in the shop are 'car guys' too. They all involve themselves in Motorsports in one way or another. Cam has a ton of experience with Mustangs (he owns one and tracks it). Subaru seems to be a favorite as well. That said, the day I toured their shop, there was a BMW, Subaru, Focus, Mustang, Corvette, and even a Ferrari in being worked on. I get the distinct impression that if it has 4 wheels, they're passionate about it. They're more into 'car culture' overall than any 1 make or model. Check out their youtube videos of dyno days. He wants to know about your goals for your car and works with you within budget (and within reason). They will not push your car beyond the limit of its components either. I was initially a bit peeved by the fact that this business only had one review, but took a chance anyway. From what I understand, Geared Performance has recently expanded their line of services, hence their new presence on Yelp. I used Yelp's quote request feature to get in touch with GP. At 6:30 in the morning. On Veteran's Day. Literally twelve minutes later I got a response. That floored me. Setting the appointment was easy and the place was easy enough to find (just look for the gear logo). The exterior of GP is deceptively plain -- once you go inside, it's a pretty nice set up. There's a large waiting area past reception that features a small play area for kids and a video game console (featuring a driving game of course, with steering wheel and all). Everyone at GP was very nice to me. I brought my vehicle in for a simple electronic installation and was told their rate -- $120 per hour -- and assured the installation would not exceed that. They completed the project in about 45 minutes and the tech took time to walk me through the work done to make sure everything functioned properly, noting that the installation was more complex than he'd expected. I also noticed my car key was returned not covered in grease, something I've experienced at... uh... dirtier shops. Although their rate was (to me) a bit expensive, I appreciate good work and good attitudes. For a job like mine I would've preferred a flat rate and for the scope of the work performed, I think I overpaid a bit. But hey, what do I know? An older gentleman (maybe the owner?) made a point of stepping out of his office after the job was done to make sure everything was to my satisfaction, which is always nice. For the germaphobes in the house, there's also a nice hand sanitizer station located next to the main entrance. Next time I need work done on my vehicle, I'll likely choose Geared Performance. Not only did it take multiple attempts to even get someone to answer the phone, but then the person who did started off by stating he was the "Owner" as if I should feel privileged to have had the chance to converse with him. I felt he did not have much knowledge at all with the job I needed to have done on my Challenger and didn't seem to try and get someone with more experience or who could better respond to my inquiries. Despite all this I decided to give the benefit of the doubt and look deeper into their reputation on social media. I found personal accounts for whom I believe to be the "Owner's" son where I find comments made by said "Owner" in regards to whom I believe to be a prior employee to be extremely unprofessional, immature, and honestly utterly childish! I may not know the back story but I can imagine from what I saw on other social media that this "Clint" they were referring to may have even been a partner at some point?? Either way Cam (Owner) was entirely out of line and completely sealed the decision for me to not only never entrust my vehicle in his hands but to ensure that non of my friends or acquaintances do either. I reached out to Geared Performance for Airlift and Steeda suspension upgrades on my 2015 Mustang GT. They were incredible from start to finish. Cam and his crew showed great customer service. They were extremely professional with working through build options and fair pricing that could not be matched anywhere else. The attention to detail on their install is impeccable. The Airlift line management is super clean, neatly tucked, and organized well. I had a look at the undercarriage on a car lift and what I could see of the Steeda kit looked great. The handling of the vehicle is far superior than what it was before. After having a few problems with my car I decided to go on Yelp and message a few shops the day before Christmas Eve. I was expecting to get replies a day or two after Christmas, but to my surprise the owner of Geared Performance messaged me back almost immediately. Cam, the owner, was very helpful while I was messaging him on Yelp and he told me to bring my car in the day after Christmas. I was very happy that I found a place that could get me in so quick. I got my car towed to the shop that day and picked it back up a few hours later. I'm very thankful that they got to the root of the problem and replaced my alternator. Everyone there is very kind and helpful! I'm also a big fan on how modern Geared Performance is. They send you a text after the diagnostic and tell you what's wrong with your vehicle, and you have the option to approve the services. And then they send you a text once it's ready! I have a Land Rover Discovery that most shops did not want to even work on. I first took it to one that did and was quoted over $2500 for what they diagnosed to be a head gasket seal. I thought I would check several shops using Yelp and out of 10 places only 3 quoted me. I decided to take it to Geared Performance to get the work done. Talked to Cam the owner and mentioned what I believed to be the issue because of what another shop had told me. A few days later, I get a call from one of the mechanics telling me my vehicle was ready for pick up. He explained that after doing their own diagnostic he found the issue to be a leaky throttle body seal that cause the over heating issue and that the head gasket seal was good and did not need repair. So I expected a repair bill of over $2,000 turned out to be less than $200. Thank you so much Cam, Clint and everyone at Geared Performance for your honesty and quick turn around on getting my vehicle back.
